Not into J-Rock, and sort of into J-Pop...only one artist in the J-Pop genre stands out for me: KOTOKO!

Atsushi Sakurai from Buck-Tick. I don't think I could begin to explain why he is my favorite, other than he's got this sinister, seductive charisma I haven't seen anywhere else. Buck-Tick has definately had a lot of looks throughout the years, but they've always had this darker tone. When they actually did go full-blown gothic with "Juusankai wa Gekkou" (13th Floor with moonlight) it was what gothic should be. It wasn't all make-up and posing, but felt like true gothic by using all the traditional themes, not to mention it was a concept LP which means the whole thing told a story about a demon awakening.

If you are curious about that period of Buck-Tuck, check out their vid of the live performance of "Muma - The Nightmare" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boCwJiwEJ70). Most of the concert is on YouTube I believe.  There are tons of other vids on YouTube as well. If I had to pick a few favs, they would be Romance (new), Love Letter, Heroine, Hyperlove, Sasayaki, Speed and this one (sorry the name is way to long in japanese lol) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rccoK_4jONo)

They are my favorite Jrock band, and yes I try to plug them like crazy to share them with everyone. ^.^

I'm a big geek who doesn't know Japanese.
I like Mini Moni and any of the groups from Morning Musume (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morning_Musume)

Out of all of them though, I like Tsuji Nozomi (or Nozomi Tsuji if you will....) the most. She's the cutest, and the funniest.

Close runners up are Ai Kago and Mika Todd.
Kago does hilarious impressions and you could make a good argument that Tsuji is her sidekick.
Mika is from Hawaii and can speak english so she'd be a lot more fun for me to hang out with. Even though i'd be a bad fan and just ask a bunch of crazy questions about her work in Japan (she's in LA now trying to start a career in Jazz).

Tsuji and Kago form the group W. Although the producers have Kago on "probation" for smoking!  :(  

All three of them were in Mini Moni (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MiniMoni) (along with Mari Yaguchi and Ai Takahashi).

thanks!! the gackts sings it in the clip i posted , its the song i really want to sing the most at klaraoke this year but i'm hesitent because i dont know if i can do it justice

J-Rock (sort of):

TM Network

an old band from the 80s (or earlier?), they did the ending to Gundam: Char's Counterattack ("Beyond the Time"), and several City Hunter songs including the first ending ("Get Wild").
