Okay. Before anyone shouts "Invader Zim is not an anime so shouldn't be cosplayed at an anime con!", I have to say, there's been LOTR, Harry Potter, Star Wars, and many other non-anime/manga related cosplays at cons before. So deal with it.
ANYHOW. 83
Will anyone be cosplaying characters from the show Invader Zim this year? I know I've seen a few cosplayers of the characters on the internet, mostly Gir, but of other characters as well.
This is my first year at Kumoricon, and I might/most likely/planning/will be cosplaying Dib for one day...and was just wondering if anyone else was going to join in on the IZ cosplay fun. 8|

We've had Invader Zim cosplayers at Kumoricon before... several times actually and I don't think I've ever heard anyone say something bad to them.
I'd say go for it.
(And this is from someone who is cosplaying as a HP character)

yes there was a girl in a gir suit, i my self have been tempted to cosplay at Gaz but i have to make the stuff i have planned first

anime is actually defined as any kind of animation in general, so invader zim would definetly work.... I LUV THAT SHOW *sigh* I could remember the invader zim mini marathon we had at a friend's house... those were some good times. Hope to see you there:D

Yeah, although I always tend to think of it as just Japanese animation. 83 Most people do, although it's just another word for "animation"...

Surely if someone does cosplay him (because I have seen others) it won't be exactly the same as the cartoon (knowing a head that size and a body that small is impossible), but I already have the trenchcoat and round glasses, so all that would be missing are the black boots and shirt (since I already have black pants and black hairspray).
The challenge will be styling the hair to make it stick back in a bolt...somehow.

personally i'm a huge fan of zim.
i had a crash course in zim fandom, kumoricon 2004, when i found that i had SEVEN entries in the fanfic contest, about invader zim!
so i created a special category and gave a zim award that year:)
the legacy thereof is the "non-anime fandoms" category in the fanfic contest that remains to this day :)
zim cosplayers, stop by the creation station at some point during the con. we have a subsection of fanfiction bedtime stories which is called fanfic theatre. that's where people cosplay their fics, instead of just reading them aloud--adding voice acting skills, costumes, props, sets, whatever, to enhance their performance. it would be awesome to have some of the invader zim fics cosplayed for that!

Well, I did a cosplay as Gaz at Sakura-Con this last year. Depending on what else I decide to cosplay, I might go at it again. XD
