I'd do open mic when there's not a whole lot of people around, I don't wanna scary anybody with my singing. 8)

My friend and I are going to sign up for Karaoke, the contest I mean. I didnt do it last year because, well, I had no one to sing with and I couldn't sing up there all alone! I'd get stage fright. xD But I'm all paranoid now about signing up at the right time so I don't miss it. It's too bad I don't even have the song memorized yet. >>

I only have one japanese song semi-halfway memorized and it's not even the full song. It's the opening theme of Saiyuki season one. I don't remeber the name if it, but I sang it for my friend who is japanese and he said he understood everything I sang even though I don't know the language. Yay!!!

Go for it!! I'll cheer you on! I know what you mean. I'm really shy too, but I didn't do it last year when I really wanted to and I regret it. You'll do great!

hopefully there will be a larger turnout this year. It's much more fun to sing in front of a full house and last year was so. . . empty.

I agree that last years turnout was small. I had the most fun with the full house that we had 2nd year. I hope we can have something like that again!

Speaking as someone who kinda wanted to watch a little karaoke but didn't, the karaoke room in '05 seemed kinda hidden or "out of the way" to me so I wonder if other people felt that way too.

I agree that the karaoke room in 05 was kinda hard to find. Especially since everytime I asked where it was I got a different response. I don't think many people really knew how to find it last year.

We knew finding stuff like the karaoke hall was a problem last year, so this year we have a big initiative to have directions and signs to everything. A lot of stuff will feel kind of out-of-the-way due to the layout of this year's hotel, but we hope that it will also facilitate making the convention feel less crowded and we hope the signs will have a big impact too.

Oooh karaoke...

  *laughs*

I get so self-conscious when I sing and my voice shakes, not to mention my leg starts shaking like crazy.

I'll do better this year though!

I think I'm going to do "Tobira no Mukou E" by yELLOW Generation or "Yakusoku wa Iranai" by Maaya Sakamoto
