Title: Scientific progress goes "boink!"

If you've noticed that your account is missing, we regret the error. The forum database has somehow been corrupted and whole users' existences have been erased. Apparantly all your posts have been nuked as well. We don't know yet how it happened but we're working on figuring out how to correct it, if possible. Sorry about the mess.  :(

Okay, well, it's good to know that it was just a gliche in the computer and not a prank or something.  I feel better knowing that.

I'm not angry but just really surprised by what happened.
Plus it's going to take forever for me to get back up to my 3rd top poster rank.  :wink:

Well, unfortunately, we can't rule out any pranks that exploit some software vulnerabilities. In any case, it's not a staff prank, don't worry.

Well, unfortunately, we can't rule out any pranks that exploit some software vulnerabilities. In any case, it's not a staff prank, don't worry.

I have a tendency to be an optimist....
Plus I figure that if it was some guy making a prank he/she would have deleted a lot more accounts.

Kurimono here, I should mention that it seems this isn't the first time this happened as when I mentioned it to a friend of mine, she commented the same thing happened to her a few months ago.  as far as I know, she didn't tell anyone and just simply made a new account.

yeah, I noticed it about the same time as negima, but didn't make a new one until just recently though.
