Title: Cosplayers at OSU
Post by: graphicnovellife on July 29, 2015, 11:28:34 pm
This fall will be my first term at OSU and I was hoping to maybe find a cosplay community there.

Is there an unoffical club there? I feel like I heard about one at U of O a long time ago and was wondering if OSU did too.

You could try seeing if there are Japanese classes at OSU, first. (There is a cosplay group page on Facebook!)

Sometimes the students involved in the Japanese program (language classes/exchange program, etc.) like to run clubs or meet-ups. But this is the anime angle...

If you'd like to meet more video gamers/cosplayers, you could try visiting some of the tech classrooms or the library and see if you bump into any groups conversing about the things you're interested in - it makes for a good ice breaker!

Thank you for the advice! I always forget to think to look on facebook for that kind of stuff!

There was an anime club when I was at OSU (2010 alumni) :) I can't recall if they have facebook, but they did have a club page on OSU's site. I know they met every so often during the term for activities and fundraising to go to cons...

Good luck and have fun with college! ;)
