Title: A camera question
Post by: Animeman73 on April 23, 2015, 02:28:02 pm
Hello again everyone, Animeman73 here and I'm doing quite fine still months after my surgery to remove my gal bladder.|

Okay here's the story. While I was at Sakuracon 2015 this year, while I managed to score a whole bunch of pictures my Nikon Coolpix which I've had since....2009 or 10 I think, finally croaked. That is it doesn't work anymore and so I'm in the market for a new camera to use to make movies and take still pictures of all you great cosplayers out there. So this question is specificallya addressed to those out there who attend anime conventions who have the old photography bug in them. What type of camera do you think I should get, I'm currently swinging towards Nikon but I'm open to alternatives. What are your thoughts?

Without a budget and how big or compact (self contained) the camera is, its hard to give an example. There is a lot of types of Nikon Coolpix cameras out there as well.

If you have a model number of your old Nikon we can probably provide you with some good recommendations.

Otherwise the camera I use for conventions is a Canon S100 as I prefer compact cameras.

I have done a few searches for cameras online and allot of the more decent ones seem to cost upwards of fifty bucks.
