Title: Animal Crossing cosplay anyway?
Post by: BlackjackGabbiani on April 21, 2014, 08:47:56 pm
I was thinking of going as my favorite villager, Melba, but I'm unsure how to properly dress as a koala. Especially since the nose would be key and I have glasses...

Any advice? And anyone else want to go as a character?

Do you plan on doing a humanoid version of Melba or putting together a more 'fursuit' type thing?
also, I was hoping if I had some free time to throw together Punchy, Tangy, or Lolly (my 3 favorite villagers)

Humanoid version. Little koala ears and such but makeup and human body.

Here's how it looks so far. I have to make the ears and dye parts of the shirt (the blue parts). How do I make them green? Fabric paint?

I got capris for it too, and black shoes.

I'm going to be cosplaying Francine (http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130721190015/animalcrossing/images/f/f1/Francine_NewLeaf_Official.png)! (someone should totally cosplay Chrissy and hang out with me!)

Tom Nook would be awesome.

And thanks! It's a wig though.

I totally didn't think that it was a wig, just asked my husband too he thought it looks real.

I'm hoping to put together a cosplay based off of my Mayor, having red nose paint to differentiate from just simple dress up. I also found a perfect looking silver shovel at Target but it's most likely gone, as the back to school stuff is being put in.

Try a garden store then. Kids sizes should work.

Speaking of makeup, any auggestions om a koala nose? I'm gonna have the tip black, but it'll be hot and I touch my nose a lot when it's hot out (sweat and all). So how does one fend makeup against sweat and frequent touching?

Also I need to get started on the ears, and on dying the blue parts of the shirt green,

...which requires FINDING the shirt now. Mom has a tendency to rearrange things in ways that have nothing to do with common sense, and to make matters worse I live on my own and she promised not to in my own place. So yeah, it's SOMEWHERE, but...

I started dying the shirt today. Bleach out the blue, then I'll paint more green on! Though I have to do it on my porch (applying bleach inside is a no no) and it's hot on the pavement! Yikes!

I'm also going to start the ears today.

How is everyone else coming?

I'm going to try really hard to pull an Isabell together. Here's hoping the wig gets here in time!
