Title: Nominations for Member-Elected Board Positions
Post by: JeffT on December 21, 2013, 09:56:05 pm
This thread is for tracking, posting, and replying to nominations and seconds for member-elected board positions. This first post will be updated as the status changes. People may post in this thread to nominate or second candidates, and candidates may respond to a nomination. For discussion or questions to candidates, please use the designated Q&A threads (https://www.kumoricon.org/forums/index.php?board=52.0) for each position instead.

Nominations must be seconded to be valid. You cannot nominate or second yourself. Once you have accepted a valid nomination by the deadline, you will be added to the list of candidates below. Once you are nominated and seconded, you may change your acceptance status at will until the nominations deadline of Jan. 7, 11:59pm.

For general information about the elections meeting and process, see Elections Summary (https://www.kumoricon.org/forums/index.php?topic=18374.0).

I had someone ask and I think it is a valid question. For those that may not be privy to this information, what does each of the positions entail? I mean, other than running the departments that are under their name on the org chart, or is that what they do? haha.

The org chart is actually a pretty good reference. I've posted a summary in the Elections Summary thread (https://www.kumoricon.org/forums/index.php?topic=18374.msg788588#msg788588).

As Kate is already seconded, and I am not familiar enough with the Relation's department I will nominate Samantha Taylor as a logical other choice for Relations Director since she too appears to have been an assistant in that department.

As a point of procedural clarification, should Jeff be elected as Chair, would he also retain his position as Secretary, or would we need to hold another election for that position?

I believe that Secretary is a Board-elected position, so other then nominations there would not need to be a member election if Jeff were to win Chair, and no longer be Secretary.

I would like to nominate Ally Fields for Director of Relations.

I'm answering this a bit more in the Chair Q&A thread (https://www.kumoricon.org/forums/index.php?topic=18377.msg788658#msg788658).
