Let's get this party started.
• Todd Haberkorn
• Crispin Freeman
• Johnny Yong Bosch
• Dark Horse Comics
• Funimation
• The Slants
-
^ I'll agree with Crispin and The Slants, but here's my additions to the lot.
Natalie Hoover
Cynthia Martinez
Tara Strong
Cathy Weseluck
-
I agree with Crispin Freeman and Johnny Yong Bosch.
I would also add:
- Steve Blum
- Vic Mignogna
- Ross Campbell (comic artist)
- Svetlana Chmakova
- Svetlana Quindt (Kamui Cosplay)
Admittedly unrealistic suggestions:
- Versailles ~Philharmonic Quintet~
- Akiko Yoshida (Kokia)
I'm sure there are others that will come to mind.
-
Now, I have some unrealistic guest ideas;
• FLOW
• Yuya Matsushita
• L'Arc~En~Ciel
• AN Cafe
• Ikimono Gakari
• Joe Inoue
• Yoko Takahashi
• Spike Spencer
-
David Vincent again!!!!!
Edit :
Andrea Libman
Tara Strong
-
I once again suggest Jamieson Price.
-
and I will again recommened Aaron Dismuke.
-
Chuck Huber
Linda Young
JERRY JEWELL PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
Kyle Hebert
Eric Vale
Laura Bailey
Jamie Marchi
Wayne Grayson on the grounds that he is a nice person and has crossover appeal. :)
I want Jason Thompson to come back next year. I enjoyed all of his panels.
Now as far as Japanese voice actors go: Toshiyuki Morikawa is my pipe dream. Also would love Hiroki Takahashi.
And if we get into further dreaming that a manga creator might actually come to our little con, Kezuki Takahashi.
-
-Lauren Faust
-Tara Strong
-
Vic Mignogna and Aaron Dismuke would be a dream come true X)
-
David Vincent again!!!!!
Edit :
Andrea Libman
Tara Strong
I second that, I would love to see David Vincent again - he's so sweet!
To add to the list, I would really like to see Kirk Thornton next year.
Whatever happened to him? I looked up the guest record for Kumoricon on Wikipedia and he had been a frequent guest for quite some time; but then, he suddenly stopped coming. ???
{Edit}
Would Troy Baker and Johnny Yong Bosch be out of the question?
-
Here is my list of people I'd like to see next year at Kumoricon,
1. Vic Mignogna
2. Kyle Herbert
3. Tara Strong
4. Stephanie Sheh
5. Laura Bailey
6. Travis Willingham
7. Wayne Grayson
8. Dan Green.
9. Johnny Yong Bosch
10. The Slants
-
1. Crispin Freeman
2. Brittney Karbowski
3. Johnny Yong Bosch
4. Stephanie Sheh
5. Luci Christian
6. Cherami Leigh
7. Micah Solusad
As much as I also want to see Vic Mignogna, I fear that the same problem with maintaining autograph lines for him will be another nightmare for the staff.
-
Monty Oum from Rooster Teeth, creator of RWBY
-
now for some super duper unrealistic guest request!
(I am sure those who know me see this coming)
GACKT!!!!!!!!! <3<3<3
Or maybe
L'Arc~En~Ciel?
Vamps?
Asian Kungfu Generation?
for voice actors
Mamoru Miyano he is the only Tamaki in my opinion (sorry Vic fans)
Steve Blum would be cool.
-
Would it seem odd to request a musical artist who is no longer active? I'd die happy to meet Shaura/Juka, but he retired from music this year.
-
I'd love to see Natalie Hoover. (:
-
I'd love to see Natalie Hoover. (:
Ditto! I really think she could give a lot of insight in a panel about braking into the vice acting industry!
-
Please can we bring at least someone from among the originating artists & talent FROM JAPAN rather than just US-based dubbers? (Sakura-con did it at least once...)
Are we big enough yet? Will we be big enough at 2014?
-
Someone, anything, actually a semi big deal in Japan?
Are we big enough yet to get someone besides some comic book artist no one has ever heard of and they just happen to be local and free that weekend?
-
I agree with Crispin Freeman and Johnny Yong Bosch.
I would also add:
- Steve Blum
- Vic Mignogna
- Ross Campbell (comic artist)
- Svetlana Chmakova
- Svetlana Quindt (Kamui Cosplay)
Admittedly unrealistic suggestions:
- Versailles ~Philharmonic Quintet~
- Akiko Yoshida (Kokia)
I'm sure there are others that will come to mind.
I honestly feel like Vic Mignogna will never be invited to Kumoricon based on personal feelings towards him by higher up staffers... instead of attendee demand. I gave up on suggesting him a couple years back.
-

Based on that, I would like to see Rie Kugimiya ("Queen of Tsundere", Alphonse Elric, Shana), Supercell (J-Pop Band), or even Reki Kawahara (Author of Sword Art Online, he also appeared at Sakura-Con). I feel that Kumoricon may be big enough, but it is a question of whether there are the resources available to support having guests from Japan. I think it would be interesting to start inviting guests from Japan.

I also know is asking price is pretty high up there.

They usually bring over at least one, from what I recall. Since this has been brought up, my list includes:
Megumi Hayashibara
Hikaru Midorikawa
Aya Hirano
-
• Megumi Ogata (if she's invited, I swear to God, I'll start singing "Zankoku Na Tenshi No Tezee" during opening ceremonies).
• Mikuni Shimokawa.
• Shoko (Shokotan) Nakagawa.
NEGICHA DAME DA!!!!!!!! NEGICHA DAME DA!!!!!!!! NEGICHA DAME DA!!!!!!!! NEGICHA DAME DA!!!!!!!! NEGICHA DAME DA!!!!!!!! NEGICHA DAME DA!!!!!!!! NEGICHA DAME DA!!!!!!!! NEGICHA DAME DA!!!!!!!! *hits "post" and runs away, screaming*
-
The Slants have always been fun the years they were there.
I would kill for the chance to see Vamps again though that seems a bit unlikely.
Johnny Yong Bosch would be fantastic.
Dante Basco would kick 12 kinds of ass (yeah I know he's not in a "real" anime but who cares. Plus we could chant "RUFIO" before his panel started)
and while I'm putting up a dream list lets throw in Bruce Campbell. Yeah, yeah i know he isn't related to anime in ANY way (other than being in 2 episodes of Megas XLR which is anime influenced) but hey he is awesome and It's MY wish list so you can't tell me who I can want there :p

That would be really cool! And I know it would really take k-con guests to the next level, and really excite attendees.
I remember when I found out Yuna Kagesaki was going to be at a sakuracon I was staffing, I <3 Karin, I went into "I MUST MAKE HER A BOOGY-KUN DOLL!!"
and thats how I got into a real manga ;D
-
most of these are very unlikely, but my policy in these situations is you never know, so i'll suggest them anyways. This is also gunna be a long list. yolo

THE SLANTS
FYI I HAVE CREATED A BRING THE SLANTS BACK TO KUMORICON 2014 page on facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/theslants2014/
-
I am officially recommending we invite Harley's Joker (https://www.facebook.com/HarleysJoker) to kumoricon next year.
In another thread, we were talking about panel ideas for next year, and some people mentioned panels about photography, and I was thinking a bout a panel for those cosplayers who want to make a living out of it (not like yaya). Granted, Anthony (the Joker dude) doesnt make a living off of it (he works at target lol), but he is a screen writer, he does acting, writing in general, and edits and all of that. I think he is an inspiration, and would be a very welcomed guest to us at Kumo.
-
I'll toss my two cents in:
1. Yohio
2. Ashe
3. KEI
4. Ayabie / The Gazettes
5. Yuumei (i know shes an artist but still. inspirations ;_; )

YES. I have seen him on tumblr a bajillion times and to see that guy in person would be.... I would be awestruck.
-
Any chance Kumoricon could get Hayao Miyazaki to show next year??
I though I heard through some grapevine that one of the local cons was planning a Miyazaki day .. ? what would that entail and how could it be possible?
-
I would love to see a performance or even better played for a dance. LEETSTREET!
-
The Kumoricon Technical Department may hate me, after I make this suggestion, but I'd LOVE to see the Vocaloid's (the digital versions of the cosplayers) at Kumoricon. Who's with me, on this?
-
Once again I'm going to suggest Quinton Flynn. :)
Also, maybe some or all of FightingDreamersPro. (I know Twinfools and Nova came as attendees a few years ago. It'd be nice to have them as cosplay guests. I bet they could offer AMAZING advice and tips on cosplay )
-
Gosh I just got another Japanese voice actor I would love to come to Kumoricon: Mamoru Miyano
You want him too. Don't lie. And since SuperJaz Agrees with me- we should totally bring
Tamaki/Light Yagami/Riku/Kiba/Zero Kiryu/Rin Matsuoka
-

i'm just guessing, but i don't think that's a problem. the last year that Last Stop Tokyo performer here, another music group called Soul Candy was here and i'm pretty sure they spoke japanese...

even though i suggested them as well, i don't know if they would come. i heard the year twin and nova came, they didn't really care for it. valdrein came too, but i don't remember what she thought of it. she cosplayed kurogane from tsubasa reservoir chronicle that year, so i mostly heard about how her and her friends were dying of heat...
-
- J. Michael Tatum
- Brina Palencia
- Monica Rial
-
- Joe Biden
- Zachary Quinto
- Mitt Romney
- Stephen Colbert
-
I second Zach Quinto!!!!!!!
-
My vote is on Todd Haberkorn!! He is what brings sparkle and magic and life.
-
Voice actors:
- J. Michael Tatum
- Johnny Yong Bosch
- Eric Vale
I also think it'd be fun to get a really dedicated cosplayer as well. The cosplayer Reika (one of the most popular Vocaloid and Attack on Titan cosplayers) is someone I follow on Facebook, and she just posted she's going to be attending an anime con in Houston in 2014 in March. She's a super sweet person, and I think it'd be cool if we could get her to come here. Problem is is she's Japanese, so I dunno how much it'd cost to bring her. Anyways, I'll add her to the list.
Cosplayers:
-
colleen clinkenbeard
-
J. Micheal TatumDante Basco
Liam O'Brien
Perhaps a Japanese band (Pff as if we could get The Gazette over here. They've never done a tour to the US. -_-)

*is glomped* You're welcome. :D *tussles your hair*
-
Christina V
Todd Haberkorn (again we want him back)
Those are my main two right now.
-
Could BigBang qualify as a possible and not unrealistic? Lol.
I know there not Jap, or anime, but K-Pop is pretty popular among us I would think.
-
I would like to nominate LiSA as a musical guest of honor to Kumoricon 2014.
-
My list would have to be-
-Brittney Karbowski
-Monica Rial (I missed her at Akicon)
-Hilary Haag
-Johnny Yong Bosch (also missed at Akicon)
-Crispin Freeman
-Serena Varghese
-Natalie Arneson
-Chris Patton

I wanna try to convince Bryce Papenbrook to join me in the karaoke room, when he has some free time. It'd be nice to have Kirito singing Crossing Field, with me.
-
If there are going to be more VA's then I would love to meet Robert McCollum 8D
-
Really anyone who could contribute towards a more Japanese-oriented cultural experience. I would recommend the Idols Ally and Sally; they were fantastic at Sakuracon and live in Canada so they wouldn't have to travel far.
I would love for Kumoricon to graduate to the big leagues and have guests who aren't just dub VAs. If you could get Kugimiya Rie then I would be very very happy ^^
-
Has anbody thought of inviting Olivia Munn???? She not only does an awesome Wonder Woman, she also does a good Sailor Scout. Aaaaaaand.... need I say more...... big fanboy draw. C'mon people.... OLIVIA MUNN. Seriously!
-
D. C. Douglas. That is all.
-
I agree with Crispin Freeman and Johnny Yong Bosch.
I would also add:
- Steve Blum
- Vic Mignogna
- Ross Campbell (comic artist)
- Svetlana Chmakova
- Svetlana Quindt (Kamui Cosplay)
Admittedly unrealistic suggestions:
- Versailles ~Philharmonic Quintet~
- Akiko Yoshida (Kokia)
I'm sure there are others that will come to mind.
I second the vote for Steve Blum
I also throw my hat in to seeing the Vocaloids at Kumoricon, even though it's sorta asking alot
-
TROY BAKER
Matthew Mercer
Todd Haberkorn
Natalie Hoover
Brittany Lauda
Lindsay Seidel
Bryn Apprill
-
I'd like to see Sean Schemmel! We've already got Chris and Chuck, so why not throw in the main character of DBZ~?
Cynthia Cranz would also be great, and if we could somehow manage it, Scott Mcneil. Because I adore that man, but never got a chance to meet him.
For Japanese Voice actors, I would like to see Suwabe Junichi (Undertaker, Atobe Keigo, Yukiya, etc.) and Hikaru Midorikawa (Tamahome, Heero Yuy, etc.) I know Suwabe is still pretty active, but I'm not sure about Hikaru. Also Miyano Mamoru is always a good choice, he's in everything (Kida Maosami, Tamaki Suou, Kira/Light Yagami)
Also for a musical guest, I would love to see the band D (http://d-gcr.com (http://d-gcr.com)). They're a great bunch of guys, and always willing to come back to America and do a show (They really want to come back. They like it here lol.) They're a J-ROCK band, but they're awesome, and actually love anime and get all hyped up at cons. (I saw them at Akon. They were nuts!)
A lot of these bands that people are asking for are too popular (L'arc~en~Ciel, Gackt, Megumi Hayashibara), and so I don't think their contracts would allow them to come overseas. However, smaller bands that are more independant, like D, and Ayabie, maybe even Gazette if you can get the contract to allow them, would be a great band to see. Matenrou Opera is also a good choice, Kamijo is always good, anything in the independent labels.
-
I just found out about this great band from Japan, BABYMETAL! You should all look them up on Youtube, I think they will blow you away. Oh, yeah, and I still vote for Olivia Munn.
-
Personally, I'd like to see Phil and Kaja Foglio again, Ryan Sohmer and Lar DeSouza, Fred Gallagher, Alex Woolfson, Felicia Day, ERB, Nigahiga, Nostalgia Critic, Pewdiepie, or other famous youtubers, webcomic writers/artists, and Yuri Lowenthal and Mona Marshall.
Why? Because I love their work and their sense of humor, and I have a million questions for each one of them.

i think the guests have to be related to anime or manga in some way, and most of the youtubers you suggested don't do anything anime/manga related. sure, we may be able to get nostalgia critic since he has reviewed sailor moon and voiced the narrator in attack on titan abridged, but that's about it.
