The first August general meeting will be held on Sunday, August 4, at 1:00pm at:
Red Lion Hotel Vancouver at the Quay (http://www.redlion.com/our-hotels/washington/vancouver/) (Google Maps (https://maps.google.com/maps?q=100+Columbia+St,+Vancouver,+WA+98660&hl=en&vpsrc=6&hnear=100+Columbia+St,+Vancouver,+Washington+98660&t=m&z=15) link)
100 Columbia St
Vancouver, WA 98660
This meeting is the last meeting to register as staff for Kumoricon 2013. After this meeting, people who have not completed their staff registrations may volunteer at the convention but won't be considered staff.
There will be a bylaws amendment presented to the membership for a vote at this meeting. The bylaws amendment creates a new position on the board, the Director of Membership, and folds the Facilities Liaison and Vice Chair into one position, both changes starting with the 2014 convention year. Bylaws amendments require a vote in approval both by the board and by the membership to pass. The board has unanimously passed this amendment and recommends that the members vote to approve it. Details of this amendment, including the full text and a copy of the bylaws with annotated changes, are available in the Bylaws amendment to create Director of Membership (https://www.kumoricon.org/forums/index.php?topic=17980.0) forum thread in the staff area. (To access this link requires being a staff member, being logged into the forum, and linking a forum account (https://www.kumoricon.org/staff-mgmt/link-forum-account). Please contact secretary@kumoricon.org for any assistance.) Details of the amendment were also emailed to all ratified staff members at the time of the announcement.
General meetings are open to the public. Learn more about staffing and volunteer opportunities and get involved with the planning of Kumoricon. Bring your friends, too!

So basically, Facilities will be gone, membership-related duties will become their own position, and other facility-related duties will go to the VP?

Yes, but please read the details in the thread linked above, as there is much more detail there.

I did. I just wanted a paraphrasing of what was going on to make for a simple focus. I also already have my inquiries for the meeting in which to discuss this subject.
-
To clarify, can we sign up for the con at the meeting?
-
This will be the last meeting in which one could sign up for staff, yes.
-
No, I don't mean staff, I mean the con itself.
-
We usually don't do attendee registrations at general meetings, and don't plan to at this meeting.
-
All right, I'll mail it in then.
