What time does the convention start on the 31st?
-
If I remember right, opening ceremonies usually starts at 10:00am, Saturday morning, though one or two events may occur earlier than that.
-
That sounds right. Registration I think opens around 8am, and most things are ready by 10am.
-
I just looked at last year's schedule. Opening ceremonies did in fact begin at 10.
-
Thanks guys, the check in time at my hotel is 4pm so guess ill just walk around from 10-4, lol

You're welcome! I'm not sure on this, but you might be able to have your luggage held by the hotel. I've been able to do that before on check-out days, so check-ins might be doable, too. Perhaps you could call them in advance and ask...
-
Remember to arrive not too later after registration opens so you can get in line, pre-reg or reg! It's best to get there with a smaller-ish line and then wait until stuff starts than to arrive much later and the line builds up :3
-
Most hotels will hold your stuff for you before check-in, or might have early-check-in available.
And speaking of lines, I don't see it on the website at the moment, but generally people will start arriving for the lines on Day 1 in the early morning- like 7am and sooner. A longer wait time, but they get their badges faster once the lines are moving- and are farther up in the line.
-
I usually plan to arrive in-line 9:00-9:30 at the latest, but usually arrive before then. Last year I arrived between 8:30 and 9:00 and I was right at the front of the line ._. (different lines were organized by alphabet, so my last name being towards the end, I went to the last line) Got my badge in 2 minutes, no waiting time in line

Just as a reminder if you have pre-registered for the convention by having a badge mailed to you or having it held at will call Kumoricon does offer the perk of checking in on Friday (Day 0) sometime after 2pm.
-
thats really good to know thanks

The day 0 check-in was amazing last year. I got to the hotel around 5 and check-in took about 2 minutes. Super quick and off I went to plan out the weekend. Highly recommend pre-registering.

Oh good, sounds like a plan! We are driving down from Seattle on Friday, and staying until Tuesday. Have our badges already! So sounds like check-in will be easy. :D

Quite easy. It's one of the nice things about having repeat appearances at one location; it's easier to learn from our mistakes. Registration (as well as other departments) have done great jobs with fixing many errors and snags that will hopefully carry over if and when we change locations.
