If I can't do tifa (and I might not now because I am a guy so that means I have no boobs meaning I have NO CLEAVAGE!! lol) the cloud I would do in her place is Advent Cloud. So I want pix with you like crazy if that happens..Like MAD CRAZY amount..

It was still fun though since one of the guy let me use his gigantic sword that I could barely hold up. /short QQ

I've done a lot of research on how to do my makeup better and in a much shorter time frame and I will be fixing/finishing the harness/wings. The only thing stopping me from trying final form Kefka again is finding enough money for registration, makeup, and now a hotel room. >.<
Hopefully I'll find a job soon, it's really starting to depress me more than normal...

Alright so, since I started this thread..maybe we could have this shoot after the AA closes so I can for sure make it..
So, any days and times for anyone? I'm guessing Saturday since it's the "busy" day..Does anyone have any objections to Saturday at 7 or 8pm? As long as I can get my Tifa cosplay done, which should be SUPER cheap and fast, I will be wearing it to during part of the AA so I won't have to change..But I can take suggestions on times..
Only bringing this up since the 2013 shoot thread is now up....lol

I think I can do that, the only things that might conflict are my panel, maid squad shifts, and the Cosplay Contest. I know I most likely don't want to do it after the contest because I will be exhausted.

So more on the shoots, since I'm a tard and forgot this is a sat-mon con I meant to put that we have 2 shoots. One on Sat. (afternoon, I won't be able to make it), and the other on Sun. (after the AA closes. Maybe 8pm so I can make it). It's too hard to have to miss shoots because I'll be in the AA and my tablemate wants to do equal shoot times (as in, if I go to 4 shoots and make her watch my stuff, she wants 4 shoots where I wantch her stuff..)So I gotta make it to the ones I need to..

Last year it was 1-2 hours shifts for things like the reg or artist alley/dealers hall lines and like an hour before main events. I did volunteer last year so this year it may be more since I'm staff. Shifts come out closer to con.
It's more than that though, I am planing a panel, partaking the cosplay contest which has a bunch of pre-event things, I might be running the Touhou and Rise of the Guardians shoots, and if my friends and I get a AA table I will have to watch it for a bit.

For Kumo13, Yuna from X is definitely coming with me, just because she's a good backup in case anything happens. And then Paddra-Nsu Yeul from 13-2, and Oerba Yun Fang from 13 are both possibilities (theres a higher chance of Fang).

There is a SLIGHT chance I may wear Kuja again for Kumo. I plan on taking him to sak and possibly Fanime. Since I am not making any new costumes this year other than Morrigan and Judal I will probably be re-wearing old one.

I'm still wanting to come as Kefka again, but I'm still having the problem of no job. I probably have enough saved up for k-con itself and can probably do some odd jobs to earn enough for the body makeup, but the cost of getting a hotel room (assuming I can do body painting in a hotel bathroom) and having an assistant to spray it on me is out of the question at the moment. :(
I do have some new equipment that should turn that 3 hour job into half an hour at most. Makes a huge difference spraying half an inch at a time V.S. adjustable 2-6 inches at a time both in time and quality. I also still have all of the equipment to finish the wings since they were unfinished last time.
On the bright side, I could do fancy paint jobs on props if I ever wanted to with the equipment I have. I have also been keeping up with my workout routine at the Black Iron Gym and have almost reached my minimum weight of 175 lbs (5 lbs to go!) with my 6' 6" frame and should start gaining muscle weight as I continue on.

I am strongly considering doing a crossplay of Zack Fair (FF7). The most challenging part would be the leatherworking and the buster sword.... eh. I have friends who know how to do that. So a Zack crossplay is a possibility.

If you want, I have a buster sword tutorial. It's for Clouds, but you can tweak it a little to fit Zacks..And for the leatherworking, I would actually suggest upholstery vinyl (the stuff on rolls). It's cheaper and easier to sew..And it still looks great.

o.o just woke up with an awesome idea. Someone should make a triple layered coat with each layer being reversible and each side being a type of final fantasy mage.
In case you don't know what I mean by a layered coat/jacket: usually the inner layer of something warm and highly breathable such as fleece, then there's a middle layer that holds the warm air in and then there's an outer layer that keeps the cold rain/air out. I'm sure there are others that can describe this better, but basically the concept is that you can peel off layers or add layers as needed and is usually a much better system than a big poofy and heavy coat.
Not that you would need one for kumoricon most likely, but still... I felt it was an awesome enough idea to share.

It was a fun cosplay despite the maneuvering difficulties with the wings, taking over 3 hours to do the makeup due to insufficient equipment, missing the photoshoot, and wardrobe malfunctions that lead to learning new techniques. Right now the only thing stopping me from doing it again is costs and having a place to stay (especially one that will allow for bodypainting).

I don't know why she did this, but it hurts and I don't know if I'll be able to recover from it any time soon.

If you've already put work into a costume, why does it matter if someone removed you from their friends list? Surely you cosplay for more reason than a Facebook friend?

Of course I cosplay for more reason than a facebook friend, but I get disheartened along with suffering with depression. When one of the main people encouraging me to do this cosplay disappears, I just don't know if I feel it worth continuing. Sure I would love to do it again no matter if I get said encouragement, but for the amount of work that was required last year, I don't know if I really want to go through that this year, even with the new equipment (assuming I can even get my other friend to help this year, since it is almost impossible to do full body paint on yourself without help). It's not like it is a typical cosplay where you put cloths, wig, and a little facial makeup on. Part of the reason I was still considering it was because I felt obligated for the FF6 photoshoot and now that this happened I don't feel so obligated.
Just something I have to consider. I'm not going to do anything I can't put my heart into.

No, I haven't. I was going to message her with a question pertaining to the cosplay group or something (can't remember what the question was anymore) and that's how I found out. I'm not going to message her because since she obviously doesn't want to be friends, I can't force it. I'm sure she has her reasons and I suspect a couple of those reasons, but all I can do is respect her decision.

I know the KH shoot will be run by someone so this can be the same day once they find out when they are doing that one, since a lot of the characters are also IN kh

I can take over planning this. I got it together last year. Simple enough stuff. The main first step is getting everyone on the same page for when to have it.

I can take over planning this. I got it together last year. Simple enough stuff. The main first step is getting everyone on the same page for when to have it.
So, toss in your suggestions for when you would like the Final Fantasy Photo Shoot to happen.

Sadly, I didn't have the funds to be able to do Yuel and Fang, and I don't think I'll be bringing my Yuna back this year, as it has seen three cons, and is starting to fall apart.

Personally, I would like the FF photoshoot to be on day 2 (or have two shoots) because I'll be doing Kaito on day 1 (if I go) since that is Miku's birthday.

For sure it'll be big lol Day one may be a good day for sure. My friend is running a Square Game's panel that day, so all the FF ppl, as well as he KH, and any other square game cosplayers can hit that up to all on the same day.

Looking for a bit of styling advice. I'm putting the finishing touches on a Tseng costume and it's clear that I'm not going to be able to come up with a suitable wig in time, so I'm using my natural hair--which is curly and does not like to stay slicked straight back the way his hair looks to be. Any recommendations on a particular fixative?

I don't know much about hair, so this might be wrong, but maybe flat iron it and then hairspray it to keep it straight?

For Tseng, try to straighten your hair as much as you can (any girl you know should have a straightner, I mean hell I'm a guy and I have TWO of them lol While you're straightening it, brush it backward rather then down. it'll help it lay back. Then once it's all straight (might take a while), use really strong gel (LA looks works wonders for this) and run it through your hair. then use hairspray to take away the shininess from the gel as well as hold it in place without getting crunchy. By the way, I HAVE done this before..

yeah, for curly hair you'll probably need a flat iron/hair streightener thing. If you're on a budget you could probably find one at good will but make sure to clean it very well even if it looks clean (and make sure the coating isn't scratched or chipped off). run some gel through your hair with a comb and it should be okay. Like Sailor-Jeimi said, hair spray to add to the hold and take some shine away, though that sounds like it would add to the crustyness personally... Perhaps mousse would also work.

Oh don't use like got2be spray or something, use like the dollar store crap. You won't be using it to really get hold, but now to take shine away

Makeup came today. It is a different formula this year so we'll have to see how it goes. Doing an allergy test now and it appears that it is harder to apply evenly and won't have a yummy smell like the other formula (doesn't even have a smell, which is good in many ways). It looks like it doesn't hold onto the skin as strong so I'll have to probably exfoliate like crazy.
I'll see what I can do to make it better. Since this is just a preliminary test to see if I have an allergic reaction I can't judge too harshly.

I think I'll have to scrap my Kefka for this year. I'm just finding it too difficult and stressful for such a short amount of time that is left and I have yet to pull off a successful makeup test (besides proving I'm not allergic to it) so I don't really have time to tweak the makeup or order different makeup. If I have time tomorrow (today since it's almost 2 am) I'll still work on it but I highly doubt I'll be doing it this year.
I'll probably still stop by the photoshoots to take pictures, probably wearing Kaito, Darkrai, or Blitzcrank. (all depending on the day)

So my lineup has changed abit day 1 I will be there as Serah! and Day 2 I will be wandering around as Rinoa again, then wrapping it up with Yuna on day 3!
Also for the ball, I will be attending as ballgown Rinoa x3 I'm easy to spot considering you can always see my chest piece! xD
