Now that Todd Haberkorn has been announced as a guest for next year, who would be interested in another Team Haberkorn dinner?
The one last year was great and I'd be happy to do it again.
Location: Little Italy's, Sunday at 4:00 P.M. Meet-up at the clock tower at 3:45.
Those attending:
Tsundere Prussian and friend
KyoKyo866
Dignified
Tsukinya and husband
Laura
Himura Kenshin and other half
Eldunari
Sign-ups are now closed. However, if someone has to cancel, one person who's not on the list can take part if they're interested.
-
Question: would said dinner be at the same location, or possibly somewhere else?
-
Details? I was not aware of the last "Team Haberkorn dinner" but I'm curious now.
-
Washougal_Otaku: I plan to do Little Italy's again.
princess_of_zeal: I arrange Team Haberkorn dinners at cons that Todd Haberkorn attends (the first one was called a Greedling dinner).
So far, I've done two of them. One at Kumoricon '11 and the last one at Sakura Con '12.
The Risembool Ranger dinners for Vic Mignogna inspired me to the same thing for Todd. They've been a lot of fun and I look forward to doing them at more conventions.
Here's a clip from the one at Sakura Con:

So, you (and others) host a meal for Todd Haberkorn? *is clueless*
-
That's correct. It's for Todd and his fans. I arrange it and make reservations for him and a certain number of people and we have dinner at a restaurant.
-
i would so join in on this.....
-
I never got the chance to meet him, and I've been wanting to; so I would love to be a part of this. : DD
-
Depending on the day and location, I am very interested then. ^_^
Do the other attendees pitch in for his meal and/or pay for their own meal? (Just trying to get the other details so I make sure I clearly understand) Pardon my ignorance.
-
My husband and I would LOVE to partake in this! We're not crazy, squeeing Haberkorn fans; we just respect his would and would be ecstatic to meet him. Sounds like a lot of fun! Count us in :)
-
Washougal_Otaku: I plan to do Little Italy's again.
YES!!! I was completely upset that I couldn't have attended the first one, but I should be able to this time. (Is now pondering whether or not to bring ex and new baby to this, too).
-
princess_of_zeal: No problem. Everyone pays for their own meal and it all goes onto one bill.
Because it's early, I won't make arrangements quiet yet, but I will hold it at Little Italy's. The food there is great and it's fitting, since Todd's the voice of Italy.
-
Since it's all in one bill and the location will probably be a Washington location, you should all factor into your meal-bill tax before you even considering tip or no tip.
From the Vic dinners my friends and I have hosted in years past, Tax had always been an issue since the majority were coming from Oregon- some people would bring way too much for tax and some would bring way too little, or the money that was intended for a tip was invested into the tax. Everything did work out, of course.
It's lots of fun to hang with people you don't normally do for an hour or two :) If you get the chance and can go, I'd highly suggest going. Also if you know the restaurant in advance, you can usually go in and request to have a copy of their menu to look over prices, or it will be online. Most locations don't go over 10-15$ for a main-course, and most appetizers are 3-7$. Places like the Dragon Fish has a variety of prices, while places like the Cheesecake Factory (both in Seattle) are on the higher end and could top 20$. So, you might want to look into sharing plates.
-
This certainly sounds awesome, when you have more details, I will let you know if I can commit or not. If you're getting close to reaching the limit of people or needing an answer, let me know and I'll make a solid decision then. I am a fan of Todd Haberkorn but I promise not to go crazy fan girl.
-
I have heard about this before and this year sounds like a plan! Now that I'm actually getting more "involved" with stuff at conventions xD
Also my friend is a huge Todd fan, so she will PROBABLY force me to go with her to it xD
-
veraca: That's good advice, I'll be sure to remember.
princess_of_zeal: I'll be sure to do that. Because it's early, it'll be a while before I do a cap limit.
CaptnPoptart: Good for you. I hope to see you and your friend there. :)
-

That's just called "poor planning" if it's a constant problem. It's one thing if it's your first time doing it, but repetitively...? Come on now, you should be on top of this. 8.2%. Not hard.
-
I would love to go as long as I am not working. Todd is awesome and I can't wait to see him again a t Kumo! I saw him at Sakura last year too. ;D
-
I wouldn't mind going again, even though he wasn't able to make it the last time, it was still a lot of fun :)
-
Wow how did I not notice this here xD Cha count me in! I go every year~~
-
I'm also interested.
-
Definitely want to go again. c:
-
I'd be more then happy to join, this is my first time going to Kumoricon and I want to get the best out of it~!
-
I'll start a mock sign-up now and open a real one on May 15th. For the moment, I'll take up to ten people. If there are more than that who'd like to be involved, then I'll increase it by at least five. Around late May or early June, we'll discuss a time and day.
-
I call spot on this fake list :D And for a friend of mine too (the Austria who usually follows me around to these :3)
-
I wouldn't mind getting in on this! I've been wanting to meet Todd anyway; so this might be my chance! c:
-
Count me and my hubby in for two! ;D
-
Dont forget me! The last one was a lot of fun!!
-
You can take me off the list. I won't be going to Kcon. :C
-
I know we aint talkin dates yet but personal opinion, probably Day 1 would be good since the ball is Day 2 ;w; (and i made sure the make the world meetings much earlier so we dont have to put up with the time drama)
-
Well, last time it was on Day 0, and he wasn't there as I understand. Perhaps Day 1 would be best, but the safest way to make sure he can be there is to work things out with Relations.
-
The official sign-up is now open. I'll take 15 people and if anyone chooses to cancel if the limit is reached, someone else can take their place. (If it gets close to that number quick enough, I'll change it to 20) Sign-ups will close on the 31st and around that time at the latest, we should discuss a time and place.
-
Count me in. c:
I'll be going for sure. c:

I'm still down for it~ <3

...of which month?
-
Me and Dignfiied (the Austria that was around me a lot) :3 same as always
-
Myself and my husband, still in for two :)
-
Ah! Also I'm asking for a spot for my friend Laura, she doesnt have a kc account so she asked me to tell ya for her ;w;
-
Oh! Also reserve a spot for my friend as well. (She doesn't have an account.)
-
Please go ahead and put Chan_Highwind and I down on the list. (Chances are that our infant son would be coming, too).
-
If it's not too late I'd like a spot on that list also, and one for my other half as well.
-
Today's the final day for sign-ups. They close at midnight.
-
Sign-ups are now closed.
Since the con's a little closer, we should start discussing a time and place.
Since we had the first one at Little Italy's, I was thinking of holding it there again.
But this time, I'd like to do it after day zero. The turnout was great, but this time, I'd like to try for a time that'd work better for Todd.
-
I would honestly recommend getting in touch with the Relations department, since guests fall under that domain. Aiming for Saturday might be a good start, though.
-
I have been e-mailing Todd about it and in his last reply, he recommended that I contact his social media manager. I did, but haven't gotten a response yet.
It might be best to schedule it on Sunday night instead, since the guest reception is held on Saturday.
-
But isnt sunday night the night of the ball??? We need to take that into consideration. (i know a few of us have been looking forward to that for a long time ;n; )
-
^ & ^^ These are why I suggest the Relations department, as the Programming department might be a smart idea, as well. We are talking about working around Kumoricon's schedule, which Todd is part of it.
-
The Ball is at 8, so we could do the dinner at 430-5, get out at like 600-630 to get ready for the ball.
-
4:30 to 5:00 sounds pretty good to me and I sent an e-mail to the Relations department about getting Todd involved.
-
I agree, 4:30 - 5:00 also works for me.
-
We should probably aim for 4:30, then. Depending on what's ordered, things can take some time to get ready, especially when a large group is present.
Even though this won't be a problem for the proposed times, it may still be a good idea to post these:
M - Th: 11am - 8pm
Fri: 11am - 9pm
Sat: 3pm - 9pm
Sun: 3pm - 8pm
-
Yosh I vote along with 4:30-6:30 pm, last time we were there it didnt take too too long :3
-
I called the restaurant and the dinner is scheduled for 5:30 on Sunday.
They said they don't normally do reservations this early, but there's a 95% chance that it'll work and that I should call back a month in advance just to be sure.
-
Perfect <33 I really hope hes able to make it this time aaaah
-
Same here.
-
Yay! I'm excited. That should be early enough to not interfere with any of the evening festivities. Looking forward to it :)
-
I think I'll get more excited the closer it gets to it, but that time looks good.
-
I've been thinking recently that if there was any chance that I'd be unable to make it to Kumoricon this year, I was thinking of having someone else fill in for me if they'd like to. I still plan on attending and it's unlikely that I won't make it. I know much everyone's looking forward to this event and I want to make sure it doesn't get cancelled, and feel that a back-up plan would help.
-
What exactly would taking your place in this entail?
-
Reserving the dinner at the restaurant in someone else's name.
But if anyone currently planning to attend has to cancel, I'll keep the list updated.
I don't have any major plans between now and Labor Day weekend, so it's a 98% chance I'll make it.
-
Someone else's name...? What name are you using?
-
My real one.
-
I don't think that applies, Paladin. In years past for the Ranger dinners, we've had the reservation in someone's name and we've actually walked to the restaurant in two or three groups to make sure no one got lost for those who arrive late. I've also gone to a restaurant when my cousin or aunt's made the reservation and I just say it's in such-and-such's name and they'll direct me to the table without much question.
Anyone who takes your place would just have to know the name the reservation is under and how many are attending for the table size.
-
The reserver's name is the password for accessing a table reservation, much like an account. (Which reminds me, I need to go to the bank...). However, I do like the idea of us attempting to meet up beforehand and travelling together in a group, or perhaps not posting the name in the thread, but rather PMing it to those on the list.
-
Okay. That helps to know. I'm not worried that I can't make it.
I just know that sometimes a person will have to change plans over something they didn't expect.
I've had to do that once before, but it usually doesn't happen.
-
With me (and Chan) odds will be whether or not one of my/her panels are taking place at that time.
-
Kay so I got the latest draft and itd seem that on that day Todd has a panel at 6 around this time. so I hope he'll be able to be around for a while despite this ;u;
-
fingers crossed this all works out~
-
If you'd like, I could change it to 5:00.
-
though wouldnt 4 make more sense?
-
I can do that.
-
4-5, either way. The only thing I got going on that day other than this is the Pokemon Shoot and thats at 3pm.
-
4:00 would be so fabulous thank u ;w; (and we'd probably gather at like, 3:45?)
-
Less than a month left, oh dear!! Now is the time to crack down on the details!!So, where should we meet exactly for this? Clocktower like last time at like, 3:45?
-
I am totally interested in doing this! Put me down on the waiting list for if any/enough spots open up!
-
Will it be just you, or are you thinking of bringing another, or others?
-
Will it be just you, or are you thinking of bringing another, or others?
Just me. I have two other friends that would probably like to go too if there is room. But I was thinking it would just be me.
-
3:45pm at the clock tower works for us!
-
So what is the final word on this? Has anyone touched base with Relations to make sure we have a good time that will work for Todd? I might have to forego the sake panel, as it's 3-5 on Sunday, but I'd much rather hang with Todd :D
-
...This would also coincide with the Cosplay Contest, if anyone was to be involved with that...
-
Judging from what I've seen on the schedule, there's a chance. He doesn't have any panels scheduled until around 6:00 P.M.
-
A chance? Does that mean he hasnt even said yes yet? oAo
-
...if I had thought of this sooner, I could have talked to the Relations boss at the meeting yesterday.
-
I'm unfortunately going to have to drop out of this; I'm going to be doing stuff for the ball so I can't make it.
-
Eldunari: Since Teddy_Bearxx had to cancel, I'll add you to the list.
-
So has anyone yet confirmed with Todd on this? Are we still looking at 4pm on Sunday? I'd really prefer 4:30-5:30, as previously suggested, but I can make 4pm work. I know Todd has a panel at 6pm...
-

Mhm since thats why we thought 4 so if we ended around 5:00-5:15 he can still be able leave to set up and have more time with us. But I agree has he confirmed yet?
-
I still need to hear back from Todd, but I have changed the time to 4:00 Sunday and we can meet at the tower at 3:45.
-
Has anyone got the final confirmation for this?
-
It'll be at 4:00 on Sunday and we can meet at the clock tower at 3:45.
-
I'm sorry about this being as late as it is, but please scratch Chan & myself from the list.
-
Uwah; since Washougal and her friend arent going to be involved would it be okay if I added one more friend to this roster? (She's a Sebastian and really excited about this sort of thing, I hope thats okay!)
-
Just checking before I head down to the clock tower.. is this still happening?
-
I'm glad that you guys enjoyed the dinner this year. Of the three that we've done, I think this one went over the best. It was so great seeing Todd enjoy himself with everyone and I'm real happy that everyone who came got to experience the same joy that Vic Mignogna and his fans have doing Risembool Ranger dinners. I hope to do many more of these in the future and it'd be great to see you guys at more of them as well.
