...maybe.  I can talk to Chan about this, as well as the retro gaming event.  I'm pretty sure that if I go to either one, it'll be on Sunday, since the elections meeting is that Saturday.

Yeap, elections works. But I can show up all staffed out the next day and help sell registrations and be pretty.

I'm good at that.

I went last year and I had tons of fun and I am so going again. It means missing the first staff meeting but I was struggling for a ride in the first place.
I'm entering my MissingNo costume

My Luigi cosplay seemed to be an easily recognizable hit, so I can't deny the crowd the big green L this year.

That was so much fun!  I was one of the second place winners in the cosplay contest (I was the Miku).  I loved looking at everyone's cosplays and they were all quite well done!  I also liked watching the martial arts demonstrations, listening to the music, and shopping around in the store.  The whole event was just so much fun! :)

Yes it was! SOOOOO many awesome costumes!

My little one (buzz light year) got an honerable mention and a dinosaur <3 which when he holds its tail he giggles
(also wasn't he so mello during the contest?  He is always so awesome when we are out and about)

Here is the face book page of the company that put it on

they said they might do it again next year, we should like it keep in the loop and encourage them holding it again :)

The little Buzz Lightyear was adorable!  And I think it would be awesome if they did it again next year.

The last small time cosplay contest I went to gave me sad and hopeless butterflies. I wondered, how could I stack up against the hundred others who probably put more than a thousand hours of money and work into theirs? I know it's not about winning, but what else could I gain from entering it?

I saved myself the worry by skipping today. Even if I showed and didn't enter, I probably would have felt jealous and depressed from watching.

Going to see how tomorrow turns out.

I was hoping to go to the contest, but I had to be at Fright Town at 5, so it wouldn't have worked *shrug*

I'm planning on being there tomorrow in lolita/kodona~

Actually I must correct myself.

I didn't attend the cosplay contest because not only was I physically unprepared without a suitable cosplay, I was emotionally unprepared. It took a friend's discussion tonight to show me how not so much of a "contest" the cosplay contest is, as more like that of a showcase with shiny prizes for the judges pick. Little more than a pat on the back, while the real victory is the army of colorful characters from all walks of life and animation.

As foolish as I was, the day is past. A bright new day at the festival awaits. Let's go!

Haha, it wasn't. I had a momentary lapse in depth perception and misjudged the height of the step. Hurt though, the edge of that thing got me right in the shin, though I think I did well to hide the pain.
