This year there were a lot of pony cosplayers and with the new season airing soon what is everyone planning for next year?
My group and I have some plans that will be fun~!
I will be Discord with a group of genderbent Mane 6 (or however many we get)
And Granny Smith with the rest of the Apple Family.
And as a note, I will NOT edit this post with everyone's cosplays. I just don't have that time or attention span...

If I do a MLP next year, I'll be considering doing one of these options:
- Pinkie Pie - I liked a photo trend that I started, but because of how late in the con it was that I started it (plus people not knowing when to shut up so that I could enjoy other aspects of the con :D) I only got two pics. (Maybe have it look more like a pony...?)
- Shining Armor - More likely to happen if I can convince Chan do be Cadance, but (maybe) also if someone else will do it for me instead.
- The pony that "really" likes jelly - This sounds like SO MUCH FUN!!!

I'm bringing Princess Luna!
She's my friend Joey's favorite character,
so I decided I would cosplay her instead of Fluttershy or Rarity this year.

I'mm probably be Vinyl Scratch again, at least for a few hours. People seem to like it a lot.

I will either be Rainbow Dash or Fluttershy next year. They're both really awesome, except there are the pros and cons to them.
Rainbow Dash
Pros: I plan on a Punk!Rainbow Dash, which will be fun to plan and design. Rainbow is also a really colorful character to recognize and being her character for some of the con will be really fun.
Cons: With my main design to do, there are EXTREMELY difficult parts to it. I want to make a small bag with RD's cutie mark, which will be a pain in my a** to find the right fabric for it. For the shoes, I want to find a pair of plain white Vans or Converse so I can color rainbow on them, but I don't know where I can find cheap ones. And last but not least, I'm going to have to try and find a WIG and a TAIL cheap, but great quality.
Fluttershy
Pros: Fluttershy is my favorite and her cosplay will be really easy to do; I already have an outfit or two planned out and it'll be easy for me to make and finding a wig and a tail won't be a problem.
Cons: I feel like Fluttershy will be way too simple for me to do (but yet again, I want to do a SIMPLE cosplay and a complicated cosplay for next year.) which is why I considered Rainbow Dash over her.

Uhm...I'm going to try harder to be either Rainbow Dash or Fluttershy next year, and will hopefully have my Derpy, Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and possibly Spike.

If I have time, I might do a pony. But of course, there is a lot of time until the next Kumo, so this is really undecided. Maybe later on in the year I'll change my mind.

I think I'm going to be forced to bring my Dash back... But other than that, my plans for next year include Chrysalis. Mine is going to be much different than the Chrysalis that was there this year.

I'll likely be rejoining as Rainbro Dash again, although not for quite so long as I have another couple cosplays coming with me. I had some buds with me as Twilight Sparkle, Applejack and Pinkie Pie as well. We're hoping to bring another couple friends with us next year as Fluttershy and Rarity, although we'll have to wait and see if those guys pony up (Ugh, sorry. I'll see myself out.) and finish their stuff.

I'm thinking of doing either Pinkie Pie or Rainbowdash. I have to decide which is more like me and who I can cosplay in character as. I'm leaning towards Pinkie Pie, but I have blonde hair now and will until kumoricon next year, so I am not happy about wearing pink. But with the right wig or hair dye I'm going to be fine.

I'm hoping to be Fluttershy this year, and my boyfriend plans to be a male version of Twilight Sparkle. We plan to have the costumes for NEWcon and Kumoricon. :) Shall be interesting.

no it isn't bad you already have the pleather. What's bad is that you're modeling yourself off a character that got a raspberry for the movie awards XD That aside, I'm sure you'll look absolutely smashing ^^

So... I'm not sure what motivated this, but recently I've been considering making an OC pony...
C. Hawk! (Will probably change the name to something less lame).
He'd be a pegasus, looking similar to Rainbow Dash, but with Seattle Seahawk coloring.

I have also been thinking... you know that incident where someone hacked Lauren Faust's Twitter account and said that Rainbow Dash will have a boyfriend this season...? Well, I've been thinking that it would be funny AND awesome if it still happened, and and would consider cosplaying him, too (unless he's a putz...).
@baka - True, but I was thinking of that non-canon video where she did some promo while still being incarcerated; she still had the chainsaw (...why?) and used her tail to rev it up.

I wanted to bounce an idea off of you guys...
An idea came to me at work recently, a male soldier version of Pinkie Pie. I would think that the uniform would most likely be camouflage pinks done up in a more military fashion, rather than a hunter version.

So, I'm still planning on doing an updated version of Pinkie Pie, but rather than a military version, I've been thinking about doing more of a brawler version, something parallel to Terry Bogard of Fatal Fury.

I have a Fluttershy ready that I accidentally put together.... and when I say accidentally, I mean that literally.
I went to the mall one day, during an event hosting handmade crafts makers. I admit I splurged a bit, and ended up wearing a majority of my purchases. This included a wig, a blouse, some skinny jeans (that were actually stretchy cotton) and several other things that caused the cashier at the McDonald's I stopped at for lunch to ask, "Wow, is there a cosplay meetup today?" I just stared at him like an idiot for a moment, then I examined what I was wearing and realized OH MY GAWD HOW DID I NOT NOTICE I WAS COSPLAYING?!

I am 95% sure that I will be cosplaying as Rainbow Dash (Rainbow Factory Vers.) for Kumoricon this year! ^w^ I just ordered my wig and tie for her a couple minutes ago :D and as far as I know it, I will be cosplaying her for Day 1.
Included in her cosplay that I plan on, I will be wearing a lab coat and look like a professional sadist with a jar full of colored water (spectrum pigment made of a pony...not sure who yet >3 )

Also when would we like to do the photoshoot? I was thinking of maybe day 1 and maybe another on day 2 for those doing cosplays that day.

Anyway, if I'm wrong, I vote for Day 1. I don't have a recommended time, mainly because of the panels that I'm planning to be involved with. I think some time before noon should work for me, but that's mainly a guess at this point.

Maybe at 1 or 2, so people can have a chance to get lunch eaten at noon. Or noon-thirty (haha, i mean 12:30 x3) so it's a little earlier.

In the event that I'm correct (or if it's still up in the air), I propose either the playground at Ester Short Park or the amplitheatre-type area next to the Red Lion.
OOH! Funny idea! (Though not serious... entirely...). Since the Farmer's Market will be taking place, perhaps we could go to one of the produce booths and take some photos there... with the permission of the table workers, of course.

If we get permission, that would be so amazing x) but the farmer's market is already flowing with people congoers and non-congoers. Depending on the number of MLP cosplayers, it could traffic and crowd and tick people off D:
The playground would be fun and cool so I propose that idea (wasn't the photoshoot there last year? and how well did it go?)
The amlitheatre-ish area could work too, possibly.

My skirt and fluffy tutu are done! Now i just need to get my cutie mark finished and find some blue tights and pink or yellow shoes, and I'm good to go!

I've ordered my lab coat. Now the only thing I'm worrying about is how to make ears and wings .__. Wings I'm more worried about than ears, for I've seen different ways to create wings, but money-wise, idk what's best x(

Well that depends on what quality you want for your wings. I would use really super cheap cotton and just make some super simple plushie wings. But if you want them to be lifelike, then id find some white angel wings and spray paint them.

Personally, I'd be content with the solid wings that you can get at a con booth. I'm not sure what they're made out of, but I'd guess it's the same material that's used for making the ears that many buy.

I made an impulse buy today and bought fabrics for Cadence. Except it's not going to be casual cadence or wedding gown it's gonna be ball gown cadence! :D
It's my design for what I think her princess garb would look like. It includes a 6-hoop skirt, a huge petticoat, a bustle and lots of sparkle. xD
I vote for day 1 too, as my day 2 is really really busy already. (:

Now the base skirt here is not actually for my costume (it's for a client), but it's the same fabric, that's just why it's too short.
I still plan on adding some cap sleeves, her cutie mark on her waist band and sequins all along the scalloped skirt. (:

Of those three, I would say that the first one is the best option. The second one looks like it'd be great for Gilda and the third needs more feathers and boning.

Good afternoon, Pony Cosplayers! I've been through the thread, and so far I don't see a final date to be able to send to the official gather list, so I am offering to help coordinate times, compile the wanted photo list, and EmCee the actual gather itself. I have quite a bit of experience running large gathers at 50+ cons at this point and would love to help the Ponies out. Given the current layout, I am proposing the gather be at
2pm, Day 1 (Saturday Aug 31st) at the Esther Park Entrance Stairs
If you all could discuss and toss this time around over the next day or so, that would be wonderful. Looking forward to Day 0; see you all soon!

So... I may reconsider the "no Pinkie this year" thing, manely because I just realized that I have a Gummy, pending I can get a good such costume for my son. (He still has no teeth).

I think it'd be fine. I would recommend finding the right attire to go with the wig, unless you're okay with altering the style...

If the color of the wig is a problem, you could always dye it with the sharpie-dye method. I havent used it before, but I've heard it was a good method.

I have my Pinkie Pie parts (they just need to be prepped up, first), and my son will be Gummy! We're going to try to make the photoshoot, but at this time, I can't guarantee if we'll succeed.
