XD On that note, I plan on using my next paycheck, which I get on Tuesday to pick up some more things for my shield! Aluminum sheet metal, some Rivets, strippig pads and JB Weld. The most important thing is I need to get a metal shear and a Dremel. This is my first big prop, but after this I plan to make more. So I'm investing even further into this hobby, and it makes me proud! 8D
I reason I'm using the seld itself and not using it as a mold like you suggest, is because If I use actual metal, it looks more authentic. I plan on this costume being the height of my cosplay career, the best I have made to date, so I'm looking to make it perfect, plus, all the working out that I'll be doing to get the body shape I want, Pffft, carrying a 5 pound thing on my arm shouldn't be a problem. You're gonna have fun carrying that thing around all day. I would use a sheet of fosshape and use the sled as a mold to get the correct shape. Then use resin to harden it even further. Then I would use colored chrom to paint it and add the arm straps underneath.
But using a saucer sled...Awesome idea! Perfect shape.

Bias tape covers the whole edge, and works around the curves of the armscye much easier.
The right side has thinner wavy gold and the left has a thicker straight gold.

I recently purchased some tights that are available for adults in colors online from amazon.com (I can find their name for you if you want). The only issue I've run into is the elastic at the top is extremely tight and will take a lot of effort to stretch it out properly. I'm plotting to somehow cut it and add elastic to it so it isn't as tight, but the tights themselves aren't uncomfortable at all.

Im debating whether or not I should get ears and a tail to add to it.
I know that if I cant find the right shorts to go with it, I am going to wear my capris instead.
But, if I can find the shorts, I need either yellow or light blue tights to go under it.
Paint can look messy I find :/ You could use a thinner and make a template with regular paper or something and that should help. I saw something on OPB where a lady painted in shapes and then stitched in details and outlines for visual interest.

I'm worried that wig pictured with the headphones, might be too short :/ It's kinda dark too. You could also try some 3D paint- I think it's similar to puff paint. I think I saw someone once had painted the balloons and did the edges of them and the threads and ribbons around them in the puff/3D paint for Pinkie Pie.
Can you patch the shirt if you put on the balloons to cover the patch-job? For her nails, I think that pink with a light blue would look nice :)I ripped it on the arm lol so the patch job wont be seen once Im done with it. Ima experiment with it a bit, and see what I can do.
Mmmm the wig kind of depends on how I put it on lol My Roxas wig looks fine if I don't wear it too far forward and blind myself. Thankfully, my head is the same size as the wig heads I use just about, and only my hair makes it bunch in strange manners.
I wore the wig when I first got it a while ago, but if I pull it forward the bangs shouldn't look as thin after styling.

I know its ridiculous since i bought my wig and everything, and my Pinkie Pie cosplay is technically 100% done.... but I'm changing my cosplay outfit. Not to be a nay sayer, but be sure to check to see if these would be allowed in con space, it might be up to the hotel, the park tho no probOh no, we've already thought about that. If he isn't allowed in with those it'll be disappointing, but we'll work around the schedule and stuff. His head was already problematic enough last year and it won't be any easier this year, so we're going to go all out even if he has to wear it only for short periods of time. : )
Stilts are usually allowed so long as you have someone to watch where you're going and are careful. It's the head that you would probably have to take off due to security inside the buildings.I didn't see stilts mentioned in the con rules specifically, but it does say that the hotel gets final say on what's allowed.

My ninetales cosplay is almost complete. I just need to attach the decoritive string to the sleeves and make a fur stole to hide the straps of my tails. I have heard of the bag theory, too. Tranny sent me a link to a site that has multiple methods, as well. I'll look around and see what I'll do later.What are they made of? I have to stretch all of my shoes cuz I've got wide feet, and i may be able to help. I prefer the newspaper method for stretching heels though. Wet some newspaper and ball them up, stuff them into the parts you want stretched until the look like they're over filling. the newspaper will dry and expand and slowly stretch the shoes. Its worked for me.

Take a break for a bit and try focusing on something else c: When I was working on my yukata top, I was getting really upset and stressed over it. But once I took a break and played some pokemon for an hour, I felt a lot better and was able to figure it out.

Except for the sewing the double-fold bias tape along the hems of my vest and getting the darn fabric for my turban folded properly... XP
I know how you feel. Sharpies, pens and bookmark tab thingies- they all magically disappear in my house.The makings of great cosplay- Super glue and Duct tape! XD Yeah I have to keep my cats away from all the fabric otherwise they would sleep in it and start shredding it with their kneading.
I haven't gotten much done besides the pauldron having epic issues. First my cat chewed the small square piece to pieces and ribbons, and then chewed off the piping from the edge. And now the 'repair' fix piping I put on somehow shrank too small and broke off. So I have to do a third repair to that. It's getting to the point where I'll have to super glue it on.

Got all my make-up so here is half a Mr. Popo and half a Mr. Popo in the dark cause I couldn't help myself! XD

Hey cuties so I'm not the only one running around in a cosplay panic week before con right?No I think everyone does that I spent all day looking for white suspenders and a vary specific tie, I walked into an antiqes shop asking if they had either and the girl responded "You from the con?" she said people had been in there all day looking for obscure items. Anyways I found what I needed, thank god for hot topic. I'm also the first person that said that ever.
