Title: "Category Openers" for this years Contest - COMPLETE!!
Post by: Prinz Eugen on June 22, 2012, 07:31:25 pm
I need 5 Category openers.

I will cross them off this list as they get done (or if I have to end up making them myself.)

If anyone takes a stab at these, you can PM them to me for details on electronic transfer.
They should be .avi or .mp4, and be about 15 - 30 sec total length, including about 2 sec of solid black at the end.
Any opener must conform to the rules of its category.

Rules:

Categories:

INSTRUMENTAL Made by "Samcyxk"  - Good job!!
RETRO
TRAILERS Made by "murder of raven"  - Also, Well Done!
EFFECTS

EDIT: They're Done!!

Thanks!

I think I'd be able to pull off an Instrumental opening (thinking of using "Chicago - Stealth" from Perfect Dark)
Is there anything I should be aware of *other* than the category constraints? i.e., certain series, title bumpers, etc.

Fade out to a light blue, Arial Black text frame explaining the "Instrumental is Next" or a similar end message.
Have a look at my crazy intro for "That's Not What the Anime is About" as a guide:
http://www.zomgupload.com/x0ik4qk1dyk4.html

An instrumental section from a song with lyrics is also OK
as long as no lyrics are heard in your audio clip.

Here's the 'Effects' intro from last year.
I will stick with this one for this year unless somebody TOPS it:
http://www.filefactory.com/file/2m5qssgnq50p/n/00-Effects_intro.mp4

Get some music, get some anime, and describe the category,
BUT YOU HAVE TO OBEY THE CATEGORY RULES IN THE INTRO.

Anyways,
Once you get something ready I can contact you privately if any fine tuning is required.

THANK YOU for helping out!!

I was contacted privately with an pretty cool idea for "Retro,"
and I just finished it. anyone still interested in doing a "Trailer" category OP?

EDIT: 'Instrumental' was stricken from here; Samcyxk just made an excellent OP.

THANK YOU.

When would it be due by? I might be interested if I can fit it into my schedule and know that I'm not going to get into a project just to hear that it's been finished by someone else.

How about two weeks?

It should be 15-30 seconds and should be a mini-trailer,
to 'demonstrate' the category...

Yeah, I think I could do that... would it be unfair to ask to know which trailers have made it into the contest itself? I'd hate to end up doubling up with someone and that seems a lot more likely than in any other category.

Sent you a PM with details.
If you pick graphics, anime and music that have no connection with ANY of the animes used or the movies & TV shows used, that will give those entries a fair footing. (Otherwise the category opener may accidentally become seen as a a 'plug' for one particular entry, and that might be an unfair advantage or handicap.)

Happy to help! It was actually surprisingly easy&fun, I wouldn't mind being tapped to do one again in the future. :)
