So who all's going to cosplay Sailor Moon this year? I know there are a bunch of you! I'm planning on Sailor Mars.
Also, panel! Should we reprise it in 2012? What kind of stuff would people like to see at a Sailor Moon panel? What could we do better next time?

Count me in as Usagi! I won't do her Senshi form, I have too much on my hands right now so I don't want to add another major costume to my list, unless people want me running around killing people with a sewing machine.

I like that you've color-coordinated the sailor scouts. That's a neat touch.

I really like color-coordinating things. I agonized over what color to make Usagi, and eventually decided that if anyone is Ami they could be navy blue so it was okay to make Usagi regular blue. They're also in order of appearance now, roughly!

I did a tiny bit...I started molding my tiara, but it's nowhere near done. I'm focusing on Sakura-Con right now.

I need to pay nekovamp the money I told her I'd get her for making me some new gloves. However, I won't be getting paid until the 15th, so it'll be a few weeks before I can get that ball rolling...
...I should look into getting some new leggings and shoes, at least the shoes for Kcon.

Hey peeps~! After about a week of rewatching Sailor Moon, Ive decided that i shall most likely be doing Beryl! YEAH. Pretty much just fell inlove with her wig and history was history~ haha so you'll all have someone to save the universe from.

Since I just ordered the costume, I guess I can go ahead and say that I will be doing Super Sailor Uranus this year. :D I should have a Neptune with me, but don't hold me to that yet.

I've been super Wishy-washy about what outfit I'm doing for Usagi, I'm pretty sure I'm going to make a very simplified version of the costume for Princess Serenity in the first musical.

During Sakuracon, I'd debated on changing my Sailor Neptune into a casual Michiru, as well, mainly because the costume is having problems. I might also get someone to repair the damages, or just order a new costume. I'm not sure, yet...

I am hoping to make Eternal Sailor Saturn this year, though that would mean I'm planning on all-new costumes for this Kumoricon, and that could get hectic... But I can't come to K-con and not wear *something* Sailor Moon related!
Finally got a hold of both volumes of Codename Sailor V, awesomesauce. Question: I know Sailor V is supposed to be a prequel, but chronologically, was it written before or after the Sailor Moon manga started?

Well, there's a part around where the skirt attaches to the white area that's been ripping, plus I'm pretty sure that it was made a size or two too small and washing it once made it more obvious. During Sakuracon, I felt like I was wearing a an over-glorified t-shirt... ;D Oh, and both bows need to be sewn on better, I guess...?

You'd probably need to hand-stitch the skirt and bows, though if the outfit is super-stretchy, the skirt threads may snap when you put it on. I'd suggest sewing it while it's on your body. As for the shortness, well... such is the life of a Sailor Scout (I usually hold my bag over my butt when going on stairs, even if it is a leotard).

Yeah, that's kinda what someone from the repair station at Sakuracon said,... I think. Sewing really isn't my forte, so I'm not sure what I was told...
It still felt smaller than what it should've been... maybe if it went under my body, like the uniforms are supposed to do, I wouldn't feel it so much... ;D

Eek, yours doesn't? No wonder that makes you nervous. Well, if you can find a friend who's good with sewing, maybe buy a pair of white underoos and tack 'em on underneath (may need some snaps in the crotch, depending on how you put it on). That would help pull down the rest of the suit, too.

Yeah I understand Kumo used to have a ball but just a simple ball doesn't seem very convention-ish so the Silver Millennium Ball would be kind of a cool twist and we could have like Queen Serenity or Neo Queen Serenity host it?
Also I'll have a casual Haruka with me, and I don't think they have Kumo accounts, but I have 2 other friends going as sailor Mercury, and I believe Princess Serenity.

My goodness, so many Tuxedo Masks. Awesome! And I'm glad to see a Venus and a Pluto, I don't think I've ever seen a Venus at K-con.
My Eternal Sailor Saturn is coming along nicely, I have the main suit nearly done - just needs the puff sleeves and the ribbon trim at the hip. I'm also going to try making my own gloves, which I've never done before. I bought some a while back, but they're so see-through they might as well be peach instead of white. :P
I made the molds for the resin gems yesterday, I'm hoping to cast them tonight.
I had this silly idea of making molds for all the various jewels for each scout's transformations and maybe selling them as jewelry sets on Etsy. I know a lot of cosplayers have trouble finding/making the brooches and accessories. What do you guys think?

I guess various people have been telling Chan to go as a Casual Pregger-Haruka, especially since it would go with one of her fanfics she wrote years ago. The thing is, I'm not sure how I'll do it; it might help if Chan knew how she was going to do her thing, too...

Resin casting be difficult! I have a hard time getting the proportions right, and it took three tries to get a shade of purple I liked. I definitely need more practice.

It's not really your fault. I'm still somewhat new to the franchise. I only knew of Luna being able to be in a human form because of Wrath's costume from last year.

Were there any differences with Luna as Princess Kaguya between the manga and movie?

Sailor Luna is fairly new to me these last couple of years because I have only seen the SM series back in the 90's (wow, can't believe I just said back in the 90's) and also a few live-action musicals. I haven't read much of the manga... But hey, welcome to the fandom! :)

luna-chan you really really should read the manga. its well worth the read and not to mention they are currently rereleaseing it <3!!!!!!!! also pgsm is sooooooo great.... even if when i first watched it i got mad at certain parts going "NO! THATS NOT SUPOSE TO HAPPEN" love nephright in it <3!!!!!!

That is true, thanks a lot, I'm glad you liked it, I was a bit down about it since like 2 people came up to me knew who I was (One person guessed that I was Luna though) Not that I know of. The manga is amazing! You must read it, the art is so pretty!

the senshi really only turn "evil" in the manga during the Stars "saga". Mercury however turned evil in pgsm (live action) after saving usagi from being turned into an evil slave by kunzite

Personal favor... if I were to give one of y'all my Neptune costume, could you repair it for me? There's a couple of rips along the edge of the skirt and both bows are having attachment issues.

I could gladly do repairs, Wash, but I would only have hand-sewing stuff while at con, and you're pretty far away for a pre-con meet-up (I has no car). But a couple repairs like that wouldn't take too long on the night before con, I should be there Friday evening. But if you wanted to attach a pair of underoos underneath, like we were yakking about before, that might call for an actual sewing machine.

Still need to attach the sleeves and ribbon trim at the hip, make the boot covers, and make the gloves (this pair is a stand-in). I appear to have lost several of the pattern pieces for the gloves, so I shall have to upend my sewing room to find them. Since taking this picture, I've already completed the choker. I also have the back bow made and waiting to be attached after the ribbon trim. Then I just need a couple glaive repairs and I'm done.

Well, that kinda helps me out. There's a panel that I'll be at that's 2:30-3:30, so that would give me plenty of time to swap costume. (I hope...).

That's alright, I get almost no recognition when I'm Mistress 9. Non-Moonies only know of Beryl, I swear. And even as Saturn, I get called Pluto all the time. It's gotten to the point where if I hear someone call out "Pluto! Can I get a picture?", I just... keep walking. :P
