Our next general meeting will be held Sunday, January 15, at 1:00pm at the Red Lion Hotel Vancouver at the Quay:

General meetings are open to the public. Meet and plan with other staff, find out about joining staff or become a volunteer, and learn about open staff positions. Bring interested friends!

I am definitely going to be there, hopefully with a bunch of returning staff and a couple new members!
(Is the meeting room going to be where the table top gaming was, or the VIP dinner? Or somewhere else?)
-
I have no clue to whether or not I can make that one yet. With my work being a bunch of arses, I won't know my schedule until two weeks before hand. Also transportation is tricky for me.
-
I should definitely be there; unless something insane happens between now and then. O.o
-
Will be there. However, I have not driven there myself. What's the arrangement for parking? Will I need to pay to park somewhere or.... yeah. Thanks. ;D
-
AFAIK, it's okay for us to park in the lot of the hotel.
-
I believe that the parking meters along the streets only charge on weekdays, so anywhere that there are meters should be fine. I can double check on that, though.
Update: According to cityofvancouver.us ...
"All parking meters are enforced from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday – Friday, except for the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King’s Birthday, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans; Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day."

Also, "Disclaimer: The information contained in this document is subject to change. If you have a specific question, please contact Customer Service at (360) 487-8454 or Parking Services at (360) 487-8650."
I also just called the hotel and, according to the operator, the parking garage is $2.50 from 6am-10pm on the weekends, or $0.75 an hour. (So, if you're planning on staying for more than 3 hours, you should pay for all day). They accept cash or credit card. (I probably should have asked if that includes debit card...)

I got the day off YAY. I just need to be able to get a ride for my friend and I. Anyone going past centralia chehalis area? :D
-
If any of you guys are interested in going to Mochitsuki (Japanese New Year Festival) to eat Mochi and play games and probably watch me make a fool of myself on the main stage...
I'll have a few tickets left at this meeting to sell! So bring $10 (or $7 if you have a valid student ID)
Mochitsuki is on January 29th from 11a-4p at the Scottish Rite Center. I am really looking forward to it!

So yeah.... depending on this possible snow.... >.> I may not be able to drive from Salem to Vancouver. :-X

Yes, unless we announce otherwise. (Any announcement otherwise would be sent to the staff mailing list, and posted on the front page and the forums.)
-
The way the weather's going right now, I highly doubt it'll snow before the meeting tommorow.

I honestly have no idea.
-
Not going to be able to make it. It stopped snowing for now but the news said it's supposed to be on and off and I can't risk getting stuck on I-5 or in Vancouver. :( I already skidded on a frozen ice patch a few minutes ago coming home....
