The first general meeting for the 2012 convention year will be held Saturday, December 10, at 1:00pm at the Phoenix Inn Suites in Tigard, OR:

General meetings are open to the public. Meet and plan with other staff, find out about joining staff or become a volunteer, and learn about open staff positions. Bring interested friends!
After the meeting, there is a party only open to registered staff for Kumoricon 2011 or 2012. Details are in this thread (http://www.kumoricon.org/forums/index.php?topic=16348.0) (staff access required; contact secretary@kumoricon.org if you are staff and do not have access).

Is it possible to send someone on my behalf? I have a few questions but ill be in classes until december 19th so i cant make it.

I should be able to make it, and possibly Chan. She needs to get the day off at work, but I'd most likely be there for the whole thing, including the staff dinner. I'll have to get back to you on that, though.

I'm wanting to sign up for staff this year... I was just waiting for the first meeting after the elections (made that mistake last year.. haha). Can I sign up at this meeting? Do I need to do it beforehand to attend the party afterwards? I'm really excited to take my K-con experience to the next level ;)

Yes, staff reg will be open at (and likely before) this meeting, and we'll have the 2012 org charts done by then. For the staff party as long as you were staff in 2011 it's fine; your staff registration doesn't need to be finalized for 2012.

If I go to the meeting, I'll be late, my party doesn't end till three. And if I rig my bag with me, I can actually go to work afterwards. I thought it might be somewhere difficult to reach. Tentative maybe.

Hey guys! I was planning on coming to this meeting today but I don't think I can make it there and back on time to make it in to work (it's pretty far out for me). I'll be sure to be at the January meeting though! It will be easier to get off work (I work retail, it's the busiest time of the year, etc), so as long as it's near public transit I will be able to make it.

So at the meeting, we were informed that open positions have been posted under the "Get Involved" section of the forum. However, I only see archives there. Is there somewhere else they might be? I was curious to see what's available, in case I can swindle my husband into staffing with me this year as well. Thanks!
