NOTE: This post is now going to be edited and updated by myself, Dawn Hewitt, who is running the Board-Elected Election. I am taking this over as I am not going to be applying for any of the positions. Please feel free to contact me with any questions about the Board-Electioned positions. I will be keeping the people on the list below informed during the process, so they know about application deadlines and the like. Thank you.
If you have a method of contact or preferred email that is NOT the one we have for you on the staff list, please contact me ASAP so I can make sure everyone gets any and all updates. Thank you. /Dawn
This thread is for tracking, posting, and replying to suggestions for board-elected board positions. This first post will be updated as the status changes. This post will list any person who has been suggested (accepting is not necessary), however, anyone may request that they be removed from this list of consideration. (Requesting such removal does not preclude changing your mind later.) People may post in this thread to suggest candidates, and those suggested may respond with their level of interest.
The Annual Meeting of the Board is held shortly after the Annual Meeting of the Membership (usually two to three weeks afterward). At the Annual Meeting of the Board, the five board members who are member-elected vote to elect the other four board members. The board may elect any person, not limited to those on this list, and being listed or suggested here is not the application process. Later, applications will be solicited for board-elected positions. Please make sure to watch for these applications, and apply, if you are seeking a board-elected position.
Suggested people are listed alphabetically by last name.

While I appreciate all of you tipping your hats to me for all of my hard work, at this time I would not like to be considered for Secretary.
-
I have removed myself from the list of VP Candidates. Thank you to all who wanted to see me run again :)
As I am not running for any Board position for 2012, I am taking over this portion of the elections. As I said above in my edit to the original post: If you have a method of contact or preferred email that is NOT the one we have for you on the staff list, please contact me ASAP so I can make sure everyone gets any and all updates. Thank you.

More information for our nominees:
The newly Member-Elected Board will be wanting letters of intent, outlining your ideas, motivation and experience. If you wish to give a formal resume in addition, it will be accepted, but it is in no way expected. I will be emailing you individually over the next week to make sure I have your correct contact information and to find out if we should expect a letter from you. I will be keeping track of the letters and presenting them to the Board.
I'd hoped to email you all tonight, but where I am my access to the net is very limited. So, I will contact you starting likely starting Tuesday. Again, if you have any questions, please contact me.
If you are not on this list and would like to be considered, please email me at vicechair@kumoricon.org

Update: Elections Date Will be Changing!
I will send out emails to make sure everyone has the right info as soon as the new date is set.
-
The Board Elections Date is now October 27th. I have sent emails to all current nominees. If you did not get one, let me know, it will save me having to chase you down :)
If you are interested and are not on the list I sent to, let me know.
-
Good luck, everyone.
-
I'm honored and grateful for being considered for the position of Vice Chair, but I have to respectfully decline in favor of those who remain. I believe they're far more qualified, and I wish them the best. :)
-
Can I nominate myself for Secretary and Treasurer?
-
I have emailed my reasons to the Board, but I am publicly declining my nomination for Vice Chair.
I will continue to be Assistant Director of Operations, as well as making the lives difficult assisting other departments at Kumoricon as best I can!
-
I nominate Wes Cox for Facilities Liaison.
-
Can I nominate myself for Secretary and Treasurer?

Suggestions for board-elected positions aren't done quite the same way as nominations. The board meeting is in two days--for any late applications, although it's fine to suggest in the thread, the applicant him/herself should also immediately email or PM Dawn to make sure it is received in time.
-
I've contacted Wes and Washougal. But, if anyone wants to put names forward please PLEASE email both me and them. Elections are tomorrow. There is a very small window at this point for them to write letters, ask questions and deal with possible timing conflicts.
