Title: Godzilla AMV?
Post by: lychee-twist on March 23, 2011, 04:39:29 pm
I don't know if this counts, but it's an animation I did to the song "Godzilla" by Blue Oyster Cult. It's not great, but if you guys have feedback, I'd love to hear it. I'm always looking to improve myself and it often takes outside opinions to do it.

CLICK JUST TO THE SIDE OF THE PLAY BUTTON. The button will change color when you know you can click it. It's a bad glitch, I know. :/

No way! I'm Olivia's boyfriend, whom you always overheard saying stupid stuff in her class! :D

But yeah, technically this would be considered an Original Video Animation which some anime cons used to have a category/mini-contest for but sadly nowadays many do not; I believe Kcon is one of the ones that don't. However, you might want to poke around Sakuracon's exhibition guidelines; they still have a category for it and their deadline hasn't passed yet (March 31st!). Hope all that helps :)

Oh my god! Haha! Small world indeed!

That helps a lot. I thought I had been to an AMV contest that included original animation, but I wasn't sure. If I did see one, it was at Sakuracon. I'm not going to that, though!

If you guys go, I hope you have a ton of fun! Thanks for the tip!

(And I really need to stop eavesdropping. You guys just always talked about interesting stuff).

Sakuracon at least USED to have an original animation category, but the 2011 submissions are closed already.
If you send me a download link in avi, mgp, or mp4 format, I can take a look and consider it for the Kumoricon Pre-Show or the Show, or the AMV Overnighter.

Oh, it's not that big of a deal. My animation is too short for anything like that anyways. Thank you, though.

For the record, the shortest AMV I have shown in the Show is TWELVE SECONDS.

12 seconds? That's impressive. What was it? Just a sound effect?

I have a copy of it, but I cannot find a link to it on the internet anymore.
Basically it's got a grungy, out-of-tune band singing:  "This Song - is only five seconds long!"
then one 'poing ' sound effect,
and Vash saying 'Hey! Is that all the time I get!?!' and then he disappears.

Total time 12 seconds.

It may sound lame in text but the actual project is kinda cute,
 and it's a hit-it-and-quit-it joke.

Doesn't sound lame at all. If you ever find the link, please post it, but don't go to any trouble about it.

I would be surprise if the Godzilla amv makes fun of Cloverfield.
