There will be a vote on a bylaws amendment to expand the allowable locations at which to hold the Annual Meeting of the Membership. Discussion of the wording of this amendment is being held in this forum thread (http://www.kumoricon.org/forums/index.php?topic=13985.0) [staff access required]. For a vote to be held, the meeting attendance must reach quorum, which is one fifth of the current membership of Altonimbus Entertainment. The membership, consisting of 97 staff and the 5 founders, is 102, which means the quorum is 21 members.

Due to my prior commitment to the Steampunk Film Festival, for which I've been volunteering, I most likely will not be at any part of this meeting. However, I would love to see any and all of you at the film fest afterwards, especially in your Steampunk finery!

I do hope all of the discussions are done on the motion. It would be really nice to get it done with ya know?
-
It would be nice, so let's get more staff to show up. I'll be there, and I'm sure some of my fellow Clarkers will, too.
-
that makes uber happy about people from clark. cuz i seriously dont want to start college without knowing some people first. since, ill be heading to clark next fall, it would so nice if i could make some friends. and i can actually make it to this meeting! ^^
-
Sweet! We can finally meet then!
-
yays! -does a little happy dance- im just surprised that i actually have that day off.
-
And it's not too far off in the future, either.
-
nope. its next weekend! ^^ maybe i can get some chinese new year goodies from the chinese garden... but ill have to see.
-
That's not a bad idea. Unfortunately, I won't be getting paid until the following Tuesday. I might get my tax return just before it, though.
-
i volunteer there so ill see if i can get anything... but im not quite sure. but ill see what i can do.
-
Groovy beans!
-
yep! \(^_^)/
-
Oh hay, this is my birthday!
I know I have this day off.
So, you might see me there!
I've been thinking about signing up
for Staffin', but I already paid for an attendee badge.
Oh well, we'll see where this goes. :3
-
YAY!!! SOMEONE NEEDS TO BRING CAKE!!!
-
Lol cake!
-
If I get my ax return soon enough, I'll bring a cake for you! Do you like German Chocolate?
-
Yes actually, I do~
-
GERMAN CHOCOLATE IT IS, THEN!!!
-
-drools- i love german chocolate.
-
YAY! I GOT A GERMAN CHOCOLATE BUDDY NOW!!! If you want, you could bring special candles for it. (I don't know how old you'll be, so it's really up to you).
-
I'll be 21, and I can get a pack of candles~
-
... dont get too wasted! and i have 3 more years. and im kinda terrified when i do turn 21.
-
XD That'll be that night.
Lulz.
-
Don't worry too much. Keep the amount of consumption to a low, and if your plans will involve going out, make sure you go with people you could trust. (My current friends wouldn't have been good for me, but I didn't know them when I turned 21).
YAY CAKE!!! (Don't forget that I'll only be able to get it IF my return comes before the meeting, which it should).
-
We'll I'll keep my hopes High, but not to high!
So, half and half. Lulz~
The people I'm going with I've known forever
So, it'll be okay. :3
-
Good to hear! (I went with family, so I was quite conservative my first time around).
-
im kinda terrified that one of my uncles will take it upon himself to seriously get me wasted. (i still have 3 more years)
-
Well, that's another 3 years of convincing him not to, then.
-
i plan on like avoiding him around my birthday.
-
Good call.
-
Unless a miracle happens I can't make it, just got a new schedule that had the choice between losing hours or working a 14 hour sunday and I can't afford to lose hours. I am pissed and not happy. I will be looking for a new job as of today.
-
Sorry to hear that, Jaz. Good luck!
-
i wish you luck in your job hunting!
-
Thanks I am gonna need it I mean 38 hours in 3 days how crazy is that?!?
-
thats insane! and i thought a 12 hour shift was a pain.
-
Yeah its 9am to 11 pm sunday, then 2-11 monday and 7am to 10 pm tuesday
-
egads! thats insane!
-
14/9/15 is completely messed-up when it's against your will. The concept itself isn't too insane, several of my coworkers do three 13-hour shifts... but it's their choice. To order someone to work that as a schedule just isn't right.
(Historical note: Expectations have changed a lot in the past hundred years. Believe it or not, six such shifts was the norm for much of the working class before unions.)
-
it was my choice to an extent either that or 15-9-9 and lose 5 hours and I could not afford the Loss of money. On a plus side I am starting to collect references and job suggestions. fyi I am a certified support staff for adults with developmental disorders.
-
i have to start looking for jobs soon. ill be moving to vancouver eventually and ill need to pay for my classes somehow.
-
I have no idea what jaz or pvg are saying...
-
Washougal - Discussing work shifts. For example, "three 13's" means three 13-hour shifts, and "15/9/9" means working a 15-hour shift, a 9-hour shift, and a 9-hour shift.
superjaz - I love it when managers give you the "choice" between a terrible option and one that's just really bad. I hope things get better for you guys.
-
yep. or they dont inform you that you dont have a shift until you look at an updated schedule. they seriously irked me! but i got an even better shift when i bugged her about that.
-
glad this meeting is near Vancouver this time

Ah. I was thinking that is was referring to some Oregon work law thing.
-
I'll be 21, and I can get a pack of candles~
UPDATE: I'VE GOT MY TAX RETURN! YOU SHALL HAVE CAKE!!!
-
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! Cake!
I won't be able to provide candles, which is fine with me.
We don't need smoke in the library anyway. Lol.
-
Good point. I'll also bring plates & forks. Can you bring some sort of knife or something?
-
I have maybe 6 voodoo donuts. i cant eat them all. wanna help me eat them?
-
Yeah, I can bring a knife!
Let me right a reminder.
See you all there!
-
I will be bringing several copies of this text so that if there is quorum we can vote on it. After all the types of changes were considered, going back to the way things used to worked for years* (that is to say what I did for years; the membership just assuming it would work out) seems best.
Change this (10.B.11)
11. The Board shall call an Annual Meeting of the Membership during each business year, to be held not less than 18 and not more than 90 days after the final day of the Kumoricon held during this business year and to take place within the city limits of Portland, Oregon.
TO (changed text is in bold, formatting not part of the amendment)

-
how did the vote go?
-
It's all done, at last. (^_^) Motion passed, up to the Board now.
