Hello fellow duelists. I am not sure if there will actually be an *official* convention tourney for YuGiOh, but we should figure out a time and place or something for us to get together and play, trade cards, talk shop/strategy, and whatever.
Maybe we can try to get a block of time in the rpg room. That room seems to be pretty available judging on the past two conventions. Please post if you have any ideas and also post if you are a YuGiOh player and maybe we can get a feel for how many players will be at the con.

Sure. I play the game. But if we can get like a Yu-Gi-Oh!: 7 Trails of Glory for the GBA tournament...That'd be pretty awesome.

there is one issue with this. not everyone into Yuhioh actually has this game. I dont even have a GBA.

Ok, well, I won't be up at the con on Friday night as I am driving to and from the con each day, but this is a step in the right direction.
As I view the schedule I see some times where in the RPG room there is 'open tabletop' and there are other slots that are completely empty. Maybe on Saturday at 1:30 we could all meet in the RPG room and play.
Also, if anything, we could just meet and see who is at the con who does play and we could then later during the con if we see each other, maybe set down and play just where ever we are.

ok. im fine with saturday at 1:30 in the RPG room. i suggest we all show up, or pick another time on saturday to meetup.remember. this is the last week to prepare decks, so get em ready. I'll be bringing 2 decks, and a stack of rare-Ultra rare cards. I am going to not let anyone see my decks until after i duel a few ppl. btw, if any of you have it, I need Horus the Black Flame Dragon lvl 8.

Boo. Nobody showed up at 1:30. Oh well. By next year's con we'll have 2 new banlists under our belt and a completely new metagame to deal with. Try again for next year anyone?

maybe we should have done a little bit better organizing. possibly in a less isolated place. maybe somewhere everyone could find. due to my lack of a sense of direction, I was unable to find the RPG room.

No problem, and yeah I'll look around for all of my magic cards to try and fix up my deck so I can put up a challenge in magic.

all of you need to get Yugioh Virtual Desktop and irc. when you get theese, go onto irc. set your server to irc.scrollrack.com
then type /join #YVD
there are plenty of ppl who will duel there

How does that work then? Do you just tell the program what cards you use and then play?

to get the program, goto www.xerocreative.com
you may have to register with their site to get the program. I am not really sure if you do or not.
download the newest version of YVD. after installing the game, open it up. hit the Duel button. this will take you to the deck editing screen. here you can make your deck. keep in mind that some of the newer sets of boosters are not in YVD yet. its most recent set of boosters is Rise of Destiny. after making your deck, save it. you can create as many decks as you want.
while on irc, in the #yvd room simply request a duel. if you are on a router, you cant host. if you can host, you can give them your ip address
in this case, you quickly select your deck, and in the game menu select listen. if you cant host, you get their ip address and in game, select manual connect. input their ip and w8 for the connection to be established.
i suggest familiarizing yourself with the YVD program before you request any duels. ppl tend to quit mid duel if they find out you dont know enough about the program to use it efficiantly.

Yeah, that all sounds too much trouble to worry about, especially if it isn't up to date with the latest boosters, even being up to the Lost milennium would be nice. Anyway, for the time being I'll just stick to dueling face to face. Although I have heard it is fun to duel via AIM or other similar instant message dealy.
