Event info:
NEW PEOPLE and NCM Fathom are bringing the world premiere of GANTZ to movie theaters nationwide for a one-night live event on Thursday, January 20th at 8:00 pm ET/ 7:00 pm CT/ 6:00 pm MT/ 8:30 pm PT (tape delayed). This live-action feature, based upon the popular Japanese manga and anime series, is the ultimate survival game. It will be English over-dubbed exclusively for this big screen event.
About the film:
College student Kei Kurono (Kazunari Ninomiya) witnesses his childhood friend Kato (Kenichi Matsuyama) attempting to help a drunk who has fallen onto the subway train tracks and jumps in to help him. However, both are run down by an oncoming train and are transported to an apartment. In the center of the living room is an enigmatic black orb known as ‘GANTZ’. GANTZ forces each of them to take part in a mission to hunt down and kill aliens, providing them with equipment and weaponry. Is this world, which tests their will to survive, a game or reality?
The film stars two of the most popular actors in Japan today, Kazunari Ninomiya (Letters from Iwo Jima) and Kenichi Matsuyama (Death Note, Detroit Metal City, Norwegian Wood).

So anyone going?
-
Got my ticket! ;)

I
may most likely will call in sick. And drag my wife to see this. Gawd, I loved this show! I may go see my doctor Thursday, and see if I can get better, and tell my doctor that this movie is coming out for one show only. I got him the box set of Gantz last year for Christmas. He loved it too, the Narutard.
-
i definitely want to go. This series has been on my to-read/watch list forever, and I finally started it just recently. I'm trying to get as far as I can in the manga by Thursday.
-
Gantz is by far, one of my favorite mangas. I will definitely be seeing this on Thursday.
-
So Excited! I'm kinda sneakin' in, since it's R.

Kinda? lol I think my first R movie was Woody Allen's Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex, But Were Afraid to Ask. My dad took me. I think it was his way of dealing with the Birds and the Bees lecture, without having to do anything.

Hahaha fun times. Yeah, my friend is posing as our "legal guardian", so it's not all legal.
I've decided my backstory is that I was adopted from Sweeden.
-
Where was anyone I know?
My wife liked the movie.
I can't wait for part 2 come April!!!
-
It was definitely kick-ass.
And the sequel looks just as awesome.
-
I'm definitely going to
force convince a few of my friends to read it and drag them along to the sequel. It looks so good!
