Title: Opinions/questions about my art
Post by: Pots on November 27, 2010, 03:01:04 pm
I was thinking of doing chibi keychains/stickers with a friend for the next k-con. ( I have never sold art outside the art show)
Where do most people get their stuff laminated?
Is sticker paper used with the printer?
What sort of pricing do most of these things go for?

Thanks :D

1) Ridiculously cute. (^_^)
2) I know there are matte label sheets that you can print normally, but I don't personally know of any good way to print glossy stickers. (There may be one, I just don't know of it.)
3) Fair warning, "lamilabels" (stickyback laminations) aren't a good alternative for making glossy stickers - they're expensive, don't look good or hold up well, and you'd have a heck of a time doing fine trim-out work for details like the feet.
4) If you do keychains by laminating prints, make sure to leave some space when you're trimming. Trimming to bleed means the two sides will peel away from each other a lot more easily.
5) Good luck with this, and I hope this gets to the point where you have finished product to sell. (But if it does, then those posts would need to go to Swap Meet.)

Those are all really cute. I know at least one person who would leap all over you for the Kuroshitsuji ones.

Adorable!! I like the idea of stickers, maybe $1-2 depending on their size.

I've worked with those before. They can be a bit difficult on account of curling while shrinking. :/
