for those of you who are involved with the KH 101 panel here is the info on our next meetups till the panel

we will meet in front of the doors, on the benches in front of the giant tree.
we will also have another meetup on day 0 (will be decided on the last meetup) and we will meet 30 min prior to the panel (1:30pm day 1).

Hey guys! ^_^ it's kairi ;P
so since Fal kinda isn't as active liek the rest of us and we kinda wanted to keep track of all the names and costumes and updates for the panel and possibly the dance, and other things and photoshoots as well!
So please! guys! if you have any costumes that u are planning on wearing to wear to Kumoricon 2011 to the photoshoots, dance, or just any other time let us know! so we can find you! XD jkjk <3~ just so you know who will be there and see if we can spot ya :3 and hopefully have an awesome shoot this year! :3
we don't know for sure if Kingdom Hearts will be hosting the dance or anything... so we'll post it once we do know for sure!

Even though I'm from BBS, since I'm not doing default, shouldn't I be in the "other forms" area...? Just saying...
And if we don't have an Orgy Riku for the photoshoot, I can easily change into that version ^^ (That is, if you're bringing your coat Doe...)
And Tyler's a definate yes on Lexaeus, so you can put him there, and I'm sure he'll also be Xemnas, since I'm styling his wig...

My sister is tagging along this year, and I was wondering which Riku we need (besides child, she's too tall) because she can be either or.

Doe, this is the general KH thread, so we can have multibles of characters.
Ven, I'm being KH2 Riku, and only if needed Orgy Riku, but she could be Orgy version, or even KH1 version. There's also Replica Riku.

I want an Organization cloak like you guys, but I don't want to be that orange haired guy or xion.." Sadly she's only played Days and not CoM. But she thought Riku was cool so I have to get her an Orgy coat this year. Next year though, she's gonna be Repliku, or I'M gonna be Repliku! He needs luff <3

Doe, I'm pretty sure Aaron's Riku is Kai...But I could be wrong...
And it's true...Nick creeps me out at times...And he has you.
Also, if Vex's sis does Riku, we could have her be the Riku for the dance, that way I could stay Vanitas the whole time (all the stuff I have for him is going to be hard to change out of...)

I cleared out my ENTAIRE dresser and closet to make room for my cosplays. Mainly the dresser.

kinky: we were discussing that bbs would be the theme this year for the fact that it's new and popular atm and the main hosts and group members have b bs or kh2 cosplays cuz some of those characters do appear in bbs. at the panel anyone can cosplay anyone cuz we want more crowd envolve ment.
but i think having the main hosts be from bbs makes it easier for us to gave less crowded stage fronts. so more having fun with the whole panel (audience) and less us talking over each other.

lol having u as ienzo would be AWESOME ^_^ the panel was bbs member, but the dance is all members lol (just not including kairi, and sora lol) cuz i forgot that riku was part of the orgy costume at some point, so i guess we stilll have that character. (pretty much kh2 and bbs, but if ppl from kh1 would want to join us at the dance that'd be just fine :3 as long as they are there to HELP! not get in for free, you know?)

I have no idea what it is but I am kinda afraid to look it up cause I've heard people excited by it and other people are like, "RAWR ITS BS!!!! I WILL EATED THEIR CHILDREN!!! OM NOM NOM NOM!!!" I'm afraid to look it up because of the two totally different sides and the fear of losing brain cells in the process of watching whatever it is.
So...would you guys care to shine some light on this?

It's actually pretty funny. It's filmed by a cosplay group called Parle Productions, so it's real-life action. It starts out kind of like a blog for Demyx, except that it's just a little bit crazy (it's Demyx, after all!). Axel eventually becomes a regular, and most recently, the 9th through 14th ones have been pretty big (two, sometimes three videos), but still funny.
I personally recommend it, and I'm not sure what would make someone dislike it so much. You don't have to watch it, but it wouldn't be a horrible waste of your time, either. :D

Go a head and watch it. There are some things I like and dislike. It's not horrible and wont kill you for watching it. I'd just watch it with an open mind and then make your own decision about it for yourself.

Demyx Time is a comedy, and like comedy's are they are bound to offend some people. I would reccomend to watching it, but you have to realize that these are only a few peoples thought's on these characters. Vexen in Demyx Time for example is a studdering mad scientist who resides in a bath tub. I like Demyx Time because I think it's funny, and yeah the 9th through 14th episodes are more of an actual show instead of sitcom form.

I remember seeing like a shoulder length silver hair wig while I was getting my Len wig.

Though, b/c I'm doing KH2 version, his hair is longer. And after seeing some other pics of the wig, I've decided to get it. It's perfect! And around 30 is a good price. And I always love supporting fellow cosplayers ^^

Just curious, to anyone cosplaying Vanitas: do you plan to cosplay as him masked or unmasked? Because unmasked might be spoiler-ish for those who haven't played the game.

it doesn't matter. those who don't know who he is or how he looks like, the person shouldn't say anything :P just say it's a secret XD (and i know she's doing his masked version (i think? but that's not until next year i believe, right kristi? i don't wanna say the wrong thing >.<)

Last time it confused some people who never played birth by sleep when I went unmasked (My helmet somehow broke...), thinking I was Sora with a new outfit. Either way people are bound to ask questions. xD

I was gonna do unmasked, if I'm being him this year, since I wouldn't have his actual outfit...And wearing a mask with semi-normal clothing would just be weird o-O
Hmmm...With what you guys said, I think I should do Vanitas until I can make his actual outfit...Just so I don't get confused as Sora.
So, I'll just work on Riku. And maybe be someone else from BBS...
But with all the cosplays I have, I think it best to just stick with Riku...

and why would they confuse you for sora when u have black hair and yellow eyes? even then, i wouldn't care to get confused because i'm a true fan of kh so i know my characters (sorta like how i wore gumi in 2009 and only 2 ppl recognized me and the rest thought i was ranka lee -_-") i felt happy in the end cuz i knew who i was and i got 1 pic XD so it wasn't that big of a loss i guess.
but sigh... without a vanitas is like... without a riku to the sora ;~; ven needs his other him!

I just would like to have one cosplay from a series...And I want Vani to turn out really good, so that means working it for longer. I'll try to get him done this year, but I'm not making promises....
I may end up not doing him at all. I really like being Riku and I think I wanna make him my signature cosplay...(along with Kaito, but that's a different topic).

That's the only problem I have with cosplaying Vexen, is that he has such a pointy chin and bony face structure. This year I'm going to try and use some make up and make sure I have bony-er face.

Vex, I can help you with that. I have the same problem. I have a square jaw, and while it makes me look more like a guy, it doesn't work with the pretty boys.
Mainly, you just need to darken your jawline.

Vex, use flesh tones. You can either use a darker skin color to create a shadow or a light brown. Either way works, and you just blend it in. I'll have to take picture of what I do for make up for guys. But again, it also helps that I already look like a guy without any makeup...

Hey Fal. Long time.
So I recently washed my Riku wig and that helped a lot! It's a bit softer and over all just looks better.
Though, now I'm thinking of dying it a slight grey and purple mix, very slight, just to darken it a bit and add some color. It should look more like his hair.
And I'm hoping to start on his jacket soon. And I need to shop for pants...

they are a size 9 and i bought them for $50 and i painted them violet purple. i'm selling it AS IS for $35 but if you want me to take off the paint it will be $40 just cuz i have to actually use a special remover to remove the paint cuz i used sealer on it AND i will also fix the sag on the tongue of the shoes.

i never said that I didn't look great :P it was the dress and the hair that was messy. i did wake up late, and i was working all night... so i'm not blaming myself. i'm blaming the stupid costume that was too small on the bottom and too big on the top, and the wig was done last minute (night before) with the help of kristi (which she did a great job).

@everyone: WE are having a KH meetup in march 26 (saturday) at 2pm at beaverton central (not beaverton transit center, it's the stop before it, if you are coming from hillsboro, and the stop after it, if you are coming from portland).
i will post the meetup on the adventure part of the forums in a sec :) if you guys want to hang out and take pictures that's fine. it's also gonna be a small meetup to talk with kristi and those who are involved with me (since nick is handing it to me and kristi again cuz he doesn't want it anymore lol) to get the panel set up for what we want to do.

oh yes of course you are still in it :P you ish helping me with 411 panel ^_^ which includes a run down on what's going on with the games currently, and some what is the timeline/storyline so far etc. and of course we will have a run through with bbs and re:coded so we can get some ppl into kh as well as have kh2 running in the corner for ppl to try it out. not sure if nick would be okay with that part, but i find it a good idea.
and yea i wish i could make it a class about "kh for dummies" sorta thing, but i think that's kinda what i'm trying to do in a way >.<

i'm making the kh 411 panel on it's own. it's going to be a seperate panel. the people that will be officially involved is me, and a few other people of my choice since i only want to have a 3-4 ppl group cuz it's less complicated that way and less arguments and such.
different ppl will be in charge of certain things, acquiring certain information for the panel, trying to get people from square enix IS our goal, but it's not our priority, it will be sort of like a classroom thing, but it's going to be a LECTURE first, THEN the questions will come at the end, JUST like in school! i HATE it when ppl interrupt. it takes up TOO much time, and WASTES valuable knowledgeable time.
so! it will be something like this.
i will be starting out with a regular intro, just introducing myself and my crew, and then we will get into the quick summary of the timeline of KH, starting off with KH1, CoM, 358/2, KH2, re:coded, and birth by sleep. After we do the summaries of those, we will enter a "what do you think?" part of the panel, where the audience can engage in a mind expanding talk and speak out their opinions of the game/s, and what might happen later on in the sequel. "Will there be another keyblade war?" "we know for a fact that xehanort will come back, tetsuya nomura says that he will be bringing something else with him. who do you think it will be?" "after kh3, storyline wise, where do you think kh will be heading?" "do you think kh should keep going? if so what direction, plots, new characters, ideas, should squeenix bring in/do?" you get the picture, right?
after the discussion part of the panel, we will turn to the amvs, and artwork of kh and have some of the games running in the back of the room so that people can try them out and see if they would like to continue, rejoin the fan-base, or join in on the fun ^_^ if they have questions of the games, the crew and i will be around to help them with their questions ^_^ please let me know what you think, ALL opinions, input, and help is MUCH greatly appreciated :)

Foam does work wonders! That's what I used for my Riku shoes, and even without the sealer and walking in the rain, they still look great!

Well, I have tons of craft foam, I think that actually matches the colors too so you wouldn't have to paint it. As I said, I come home Sunday evening, so if you wanted to come over to just do a quick job, we can!
Yeah, I know I'll get it done. If all else fails, my head just wont match color, b/c I do have fabric that will work, it's just off color wise...

Hmmmm...Maybe we can talk to the Poke peoples...If we had the KH shoot before the Poke shoot, then we could go to both and not have to worry about changing.
Like have the KH shoot at 10am and the Poke shoot at noon, then we can just leave when we need to. And I'm sure if we talk to the contest people saying we'll be a little late, I'm sure they'll understand.

well since the only time i'm wearing ninetales is on day 2, and i'm not changing into any kh stuff at all on day 2, i'm just going to be hosting the photoshoot, that's why i made 2 photoshoots. but i'm guessing you want to wear riku on one day (day 1) and heartless on day 2, right?
if that's right then i will ask teddy to switch the times with us, 10am for KH and 12pm for Poke, but that's all up to them. Since I won't be changing into any other costumes, I don't really have much of a say or care for when it is on the 2nd day.

My outfit is the same off of cosplaymagic but I got a wig that is similar to namine's hair and was recemended to go with the cosplay but it's not exacly the same. Hopefuly I can style it into decentcy but I have never bought a cosplay online before and I can't help but be worried. Im sure it'll be fine....right? ???

@kristi: for the shoot, and of course the video it's default. panel is the only one with school uniforms or if people are in the ORGY then just their regular cosplay.

So what would the people (who know what I'm talking about) say, if I managed to get a School version of Mei done, in time for Kumo? I'm looking at starting the process of slowly stripping my hair, and bleaching it out. Getting the dye process done by a friend, who's gone to school for it. I could get a wig, but I mean honestly? I prefer my natural hair for cosplays. XD What do you guys think? Or should I try for someone more obvious? I'm open to suggestions, but it has to be something that won't break my budget :3

Personally, I'm not even sure if I really wanna do this panel. I'm sorry to say that, but I like fun panels....I'm bad at just giving information...Especially infront of people, even if it's just having some fun.
Plus, I do really hate being stressed at con and right now with all the changing of this is kinda stessing me out...It might be the vicodin talking, but I'd kinda rather not do this........
I'll still do the video and help out with all that, but during con I'd rather just hang and relax.

...What if, near the beginning of the panel, we ask if the people care about being informed? If they don't, we can just cut out the stuff that we had planned to do pertaining to the informative stuff and just switch to, well, whatever is left, I guess.

i was already going to do something like that. hence we were making the videos -.-" the videos were going to be a fun and quick way to get the introductions of the games out of the way. then there was going to be a 10min free for all to ask questions about the games, and see if they need any questions of the current games answered.
~there will also be a "pop quiz" sort of thing, where we ask simple questions and if the audience answers right, they get candy (wrapped up and everything). and after the "pop quiz" we will pick 4 people out of the audience to participate in a quick game of "kh jeopardy" (meaning only about 8 questions to get points, and 1 daily double to see who wins). i got some of the questions already down. i just have to be able to set up the jeopardy game, which i'm still trying to find.
~after the "class" games are done, we will go into a free time to play the games, they will be running in the back (kh2, kh1, bbs, and 358/2 days) and i'll have some amv's playing in the front for people to watch (which i will be needing someone to help me download them onto a CD or flashdrive, i have them on a list on my youtube acc. just need to download them after i get permission from the creators).
also before (and possibly during) the free for all, we will have a Circle game with one of nick's new beach balls, and we will play any of these games:
~"tai-chi pong" (you try to make the person you pass the ball to laugh to get them out, by saying the name, or any name you choose, funny; in this case we could say any KH related phrase such as "kingdom hearts" "paopu fruit" "riku" "sora" i mean the list goes on XD)
~"categories" (The leader begins the game by starting a simple clapping rhythm of his/her choice, such as two beats on their lap and one clap. The group continues the beat for the entire game.The leader then calls out a category, such as evil villians, disney characters, heroes, princesses, etc) He/she then says one item in that category. The person to his/her left then names a different item. The game progresses this way in a clockwise motion until someone is unable to name a new item, or calls out an item that has already been named. The person who makes a mistake is out)
there are other games but we can pick them at the next meeting.

You can't serve candy. It's against the rules since it counts as a "food" product from what I understand.
Also it sounds like you're planning to have a lot going on and without people to help you run it and manage the chaos, it will be very confusing for the attendees and chaotic.
You also need to try and imagine how many people will actually show up and what they might and might not want to do.

As randompvg said, watch the civility.... veraca was pointing out a couple if issues that might have been overlooked. If things turn hostile, I will not hesitate to lock this thread.
That being said, in this instance the candy (since it is small and a reward) will be okay.
The point about a lot going on is a valid one... you have a lot planned for a small space. Also, I am concerned about some of the activities you have planned. Remember, you are in a panel room with theater setup, which means a lot of chairs. I do not want to see a repeat of last year where all the furniture is rearranged... you asked for this setup, you need to work within the confines of this setup.

well i guess ima have to figure something out... since i guess i didn't put that in the form. the games i have will still work. i just have to situate people in the front if they are going to do the final jeopardy game, and we can play sit down games too, like we would play indoors in the classroom. the video games in the back will be situated in a line so that way people sit and play, and not stand around. i also have things setup in a time frame so that we have a "rotation" thing going on. so people can try out the games in the back, or people can hear about the news of KH, or watch some amv's in the front of the "classroom" .i have everything already set up so that way we don't have any crowd issues. i would also like to see an actual layout of the room, cuz that would help me a lot on how to setup and what i expect. cuz i donno how much space i have in the first place. that was the issue for me last year.

I know the problem with last year was that it got crazy and that happens when you have tons of people trying to do games. Something we/you could do is a "Scenes from a Hat" type game where just us act out what the audience gives out. It'd be more controlled that way. And if we do that we could have others do it as well, but I think keeping it to 4 per game would be best. Like "Whose Line..."
As another note to that, I may still do the panel with you. I truly don't know. It really depends how busy/stressed I am during con. I know I've missed a lot of things last year b/c of having too much and being tired and stressed.

yes. that's why i asked for it to be on day 1 so that way we can get it over with. and the fact that i have the cosplay contest on day 2 x.x
but yes. that sounds a lot better and that way we can actually do something and gives us a chance to have some fun lol i was thinking interaction type games would be the best. and i do think that charades and scenes from a hat could definitely work in this setup.

yeah i mean i know his outfit, and you can just take off the coat, and just put on the tie. nick is just going to wear a white buttoned up shirt, and black pants since those are the easiest to find. he doesn't have his slacks anymore since gary got rid of his stuff. so yeah. that works ^_^

According to the hotel, the space should hold close to 100, so no worries on that. A theater setup is rows of chairs facing the front of the room, which will have a presenter table that you can sit behind. This is not classroom, with rows of tables and chairs.
If you have any other questions regarding your panel, your best bet is to show at the panelist meeting 9am on Saturday... that is your last opportunity to ask questions, check your requests, before your panel.

okay good. cuz i do need to request a way to change that setup at all, it it's even possible. cuz i didn't know that was the type i asked for. if i knew any better, i would have asked for an open floor with a few chairs to sit on. oh gosh i'm really sorry. i was already planning on going to the meeting, since i knew something like this would happen. thanks so much, and i hope this can somehow work out!

I can't change the configuration of the room... your panel is locked between two others and there is no time to remove the chairs for yours and bring them back in for the next panel.
Your panel form requested space at back of room only, not clear floor space. An open space with only a few chairs will not fit the 60+ that you requested.
I do not want to see a repeat of last year, and come in to find all the furniture moved around. Shifting of a few chairs is normal... completely changing the configuration of the room is what the hotel is for, not con staff or attendees.
I'm sorry, but you will have to work within in the confines of the space you have.

Looks like we'll just have to have people raise hands or so for the quiz. And we could move the table back to the wall so we can do our games. But it seems that it's only gonna be able to be us doing the games to entertain.

yeah i think we can easily do that. we can just move our table (the one on the front) and just leave everything else the way it is. and i can set up the games in the back. so that should work.
@jamiche: i do remember requesting a television or some kind of projector. did you get that? and i understand i'll have to work with that.

sweet! i just got all my stuff for aqua's brightcrest keyblade and it's going to be a challenge >3>

The funny thing is I don't remember anyone on day one really complaining about the heat so much they wanted the shoot to be shortened. Sure it was hot but only one, maybe two people, were ready to just say 'screw it it's hot' and move on. It was just really unorganized and nobody was taking charge. I personally was prepared to do an actual shoot, and others were too since I talked to them about it while we were waiting, but what happened was 'OKAY EVERYONE GATHER UP' click click, okay we're done. The people I talked to were really confused about what happened, and why we were done. I was personally a little annoyed since I wasn't going to be bringing my KH cosplay on day 2. So for me the photoshoot was a waste of my time, since I was there when we were supposed to meet up then had to wait 45 minutes just to take a few pictures.

sorry but the heat was getting to my head, and i had the KH 101 panel to run afterwards, so next year please let me know so that you could take charge. last year i had everything organized cuz our panel didn't interfere with our photoshoots. but this year was just freaken chaotic.

The only thing i didnt like was the lack of disney people at the kh shoot. It was so hot in my tights that i went home to change into leggings for the shoot, and when i got back, only jack was there for disney. And then my boyfriend made us miss the disney shoot and the kh and disney shoot on day two. To say i was mad would be an understatement.

yeah, i was kind of angry cuz a lot of KH cosplayers were already taking picture 2hours before the actual shoot, and so by the time the photoshoots rolled by i lost a few sora's and kairis. but there were several still there, but i seriously couldn't handle the heat anymore. i know i didn't have a giant leather coat on, but my clothes were still pleather, and i had to run in platforms too. so please forgive me for my quick snapping of photos but i assure you the photos look great.

I remember after that was taken, we rushed to the shade to cool back down since 95% of us were in black pleather, and we were pulled into the sun because the shade wasn't giving people the correct lighting for a photo.

yeah sorry lol there was no lighting cuz of the shade, and well i was going to pull you guys over to the roses to the right, but it was being taken >.< cuz we were sharing the park with MANY other cosplayers. so next year i'll be sure to organize it better, just like back in 2010... man i loved that photoshoot... i just loved the downtown area in general :/

There was a fountain that i wanted to use but when we got to the shoot no one would listen to me. They all wanted to stay under that tree.

yeah cuz i was in charge of the shoot, and most of them wanted to stay under the tree cuz it was "hot". also my voice was dying on me, so yelling and getting people's attention wasn't so great... most people don't listen to me anyways -.-" i should bring a mega phone next year >3> actually i will bring a megaphone, cuz it's a big park, and i can't even yell. also, next year i will take suggestions too, so if you see a KH1 kairi with a megaphone next year, just go up to her at the shoot and tell her you have some suggestions, cuz i really gotta step back up!
