Here is the sequence that led to my choice of screen name. It is from the "Rem Saverem" episode of the Trigun anime.
(Chibi Vash is watching a butterfly that is trapped in a spiderweb. When a spider approaches, Chibi Knives crushes the spider in his hand.)
Knives: That was the easiest way to stop him. You wanted to save the butterfly, right?
Vash: I didn't want to kill the spider. I wanted to save them both!

There was a memorable set of line, well actually a scene in the new Ore-Tachi series, that was quite memorable. But quite inappropriate for this site. If you have seen it, you will know the one I am talking about. :o ::) :o :o

It totally blew me away as it was said in "The World Only God Knows" I hope this doesn't spoil it, as we don't have that tag anymore, but... here goes. This line was said by a young demon, use this as a metaphor for a real young woman, who having achieved everything her school had to offer, valedictorian, etc.Finds that the real world is so much more difficult, and perhaps even hopeless. Having worked so hard in school, and to find that that same amount of work can yield no tangible results, devastating. This season they are going deep, instead of merely providing light comedy with all the usual tropes/cliches.
I like this series so much more than the first season. Now we're cooking with gas!
