I think, as cosplayers, pretty much everyone has at least one or two characters they would LOVE to cosplay, but can't figure out a conceivable way how to, either from impossible physics, huge amounts of expense, ridiculous detail, things way beyond their skill level, or because of something like the fact that that character is, I dunno, basically a gorram tiger.
What character or characters have you always, or maybe only just recently, wanted to cosplay, but can't figure any possible way to do so?
Who knows? Maybe someone out there has a way for it to actually be done~
For me, right now, it's both Brynn and Lisha, from the Faerie's Ruin and Battle for Meridell plots (on Neopets... I know what kind of sixteen year old still plays Neopets? This kid, apparently.) respectively. It's not that their outfits are impossible. I mean, Brynn does wear a bit of armour, but I've seen people make that before.
The real issue is the fact that Brynn is a kougra, which is basically a tiger, and Lisha is an aisha, which is basically a weird alien cat thing.
So what's your impossible cosplay desires?

This.
I guess its not impossible but Im way too short and I dont think it would work too well XD

Hoggle from Labyrinth

There's so much leather work and prosthetic building and body makeup and and and ugh.
But someday. I will find a way. Whether or not I actually can.
-
Probably Princess Nuala from HellBoy II (http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/9640/princessnuala.jpg). The first time I saw the movie in theaters in that gold ceremonial dress I was stunned. But to do it as accurately as I would want to, it'd be super expensive. Especially since I'd want to find the right fabric with the right patterns and what not.
Also this (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l103/tiasheng/cosplay/Dream-maybe/duela-dent-as-joker.jpg), Duella Dent from Batman.
SO MUCH DETAIL. Each piece is like it's own little individual thing.

Oh my god Mal I would love you forever, man.
Dream big and someday we'll make it to those dreams~

The cosplay I want to do that seems so far out of reach...is in fact one of a character that hasn't hit fame yet. I know that OC's are good now and then, but when the original character for your manga might get called "power ranger" because of how it looks, though he has abilities closer to Iron Man and leads an army similar to that of the Grand Army of the Republic from Star Wars, it feels kind of hard to pulltogether through the resources I have, and just as hard knowing that no one will know who it is. I guess my only delemma would be simply...getting the manga done and out there.
-
Tio from Grandia II (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v176/evilshinji/Videojuegos/grandia2-mio.jpg)
Or actually....ANYONE from Grandia II. I would be so happy if I ever got to cosplay from that but I doubt it'll ever happen since all the character designs are so intricate. xD

Haha, thanks.
I WILL PERSEVERE. Plus my cosplay group promised to do Labyrinth with me when I do this, so that's extra incentive.
Romo: That looks like it'd be a long term project, but totally possible. Do it do it do it! Plan it for Kcon 2013 or something. XD

Dark Woods Circus Miku. >:
THOSE LEGS. HOW DO YOU REPLICATE THEM?!
That dress...accurately made and custom made......$$$$$$$ I don't even know. D:
-
Sebastian from Kuroshitsuji *__* His outfit is lovely and he is just....obby *shot* It would be so hard for me to stay in-character if i were to cosplay as him though...
-
Oh geez, quite a few from Vampire Hunter D, or any of Yoshitaka Amano's work <3
Also, as far as non anime goes, the Hindu goddess Kali:
http://www.indhistory.com/img/hindu-gods-kali.jpg
and Durga:
http://www.nagpurpulse.com/files/images/durga_puja_wallpapers_5_800x600.jpg
I could die of happiness if I could successfully pull off either one of these <3

I wish I could do a good Tenma from Monster, but I'm afraid the total LACK of detail would just make me look like a creeper terrorist.

I really like the character design. *A*
If I knew the series I probably would want to cosplay from it as well. Lol

Well, if you're friends with me on Facebook and have looked through the two folders of cosplays I'd like to do... Practically everything in there would count for this, since I have money issues.
Like the issue where you have money and you need to spend it on useless things, instead of cosplay. >>
But currently, the one cosplay I want to do, that is basically impossible, is this: Sphinx from 'Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy' (http://quizilla.teennick.com/user_images/T/TH/THE/THECOCOBEAN/1221847448_4259_full.jpeg)
It's not that he'd be completely hard, it's just that I'm too lazy... Pretty much. >>

fff yeah. Money sucks. And the fact that I have none at all ever.
Eek, the chest binding on that would be ridic hard. Looks pretty neat though.

I didn't even mention all the Disney cosplays I want to do because I love the character, but can't because they're ANIMALS.
Nita, Koda, Robin Hood, Nala, Simba, Maid Marion, (not Disney, but still) Balto... I will likely never cosplay you. And this makes me sad.
Although!
I was thinking of doing Robin Hood the way There Will Be Brawl did Fox McCloud, which is to say, excellently.
DO YOU SEE HOW COOL THIS IS: http://www.flickr.com/photos/gregdestefano/3677930491/

A costume that would be impossible for me would be plugsuit Asuka. I would want it as accurate as possible so it would be very very expensive. I also couldn't sew it at this point so I would have to have someone do it for me. I got quoted a price and with cheaper material it was about 600. For the nice stuff it was over 1000 x.x

I have 0 fursuit sk1llz. Or really, sk1llz of any kind. D:
-
i really wanna do Katniss's Mockingjay dress from Mockingjay... but itll be kinda hard to do. I wanna have it transform from the wedding dress into the Mockingjay. But that is so not possible. and it makes me sad. I love the series. i wonder how would you do kilala from Inuyasha...

Oh my god. Yes. I desperately want to make her "Girl on Fire" dress, but I think I'm going to have to settle to wrestling myself up a Peeta and doing their "candlelight" outfits from the end of The Hunger Games together. Unless anyone else out there can think of a way to make a dress that is entirely covered with tiny, glittery, sparkly, opalescent, colour-changing gemstones on a "high school student without a real job" budget. Or a "person who is not a billionaire" budget, for that matter. :/
-
Morph from Treasure Planet.
-
motoko kusanagi.... from the manga
pretty much any one of them right now is impossible for my level of expertise and I dont know how happy my mom would be with me dressing so skimpy
-
Mu from Blazblue. I don't have the level of skill to make that, nor the level of fitness to pull it off. God to I want to, though.

This post is funny to me...because right after my G/F & I saw Hellboy II, I told her I would love to cosplay as Prince Nuada (http://media.animegalleries.net/albums/userpics/176795/nuada-2.jpg). He looks epic & I love his spear! This would be one of many cosplays that I would love to do but feel like they are super difficult to accomplish.
On the plus side of things...my Repoman costume did get finished enough to be worn even though it started out as just a dream that I never thought would happen. Now I am just working up upgrading it.
My G/F & I have been talking about cosplaying different variations of sackboy from Little Big Planet but we aren't the best at costume creation so it seems out of reach...

Seven.
I can see ways it would be possible, and AWESOME, but cosplay of that movie... would be so hard.
EDITED: fixed the photo link. gdi why must k-con's forums have different html codes than the elljayyyy

I'm glad I found some one else with a Hellboy dream. XD But that's awesome! He is really cool, and his spear? Cooler than any gun. :T

I loved that movie! From the first scene that he was shown in, I was like "that is one bad ass elf" lol. Wish I had a spear like that. :( One of these days I might start dumping money into another cosplay & make this one my focus. :D You should totally look into doing Princess Nuala though...would be an amazing cosplay!!
-
I did in the beginning only because I really wanted to. But then realized how far fetched it is. ;A;
But I'll try one of these days. I think my main problem is contacts. -_-;;
But this is all why it's a dream.
-
It's settled then...I will aim at making a Prince Nuada cosplay that will be super epic! Then, when you see it, you will have to tackle the challenge!! :D
-
I guess I might have to try then. Lol
I can't wait to see it when you do try and make it. :3
-
At the rate I am at though...might have to be a 2012 target lol. I always have so much going on that it takes me a while to get a cosplay done.

http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Jabe_Ceth_Ceth_Jafe might be doable with enough body paint
Or the TARDIS itself
Or......actually I was (before I found this thread) just visualizing whether I could come up with a way to put some kind of putty over my face & stretch it & put it in a frame to resemble Cassandra: http://ahayzer42.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/cassandra.jpg

or! what about her first interview dress? i love this series with a passion. i really wanna cosplay it... but it just seems like it would taint it somehow.

Ryu Soma (http://sub4all.org/torrentimg/a1910677133b145ab5d8dcb57e6d6ced3e5018be.png), from Argento Soma. I'd love to do it, but it's miles beyond my skill level in multiple areas.
-
@ sound.......thanks for the added incentive :)
@ boogie......come to our Filk Follies panel and sing your heart out anyway!
@ Random, that actually looks relatively attainable. Unless you just don't want to dye your hair or wear a wig?

Rem:
I'm glad I can! As one of the first doctors, I say that you need to cosplay alongside us~
Nikki:

If you did it, or even tried, I would be so amazingly happy.

Commission it! If you can't do it, then get help :3

Well I'd gladly follow Doctors' orders....
;)
I'm in!

I'd be so totally smitten (at least with 9 or 10) that it would just feel natural :)
.....hoping to get a hold of some Sarah Jane Adventures, I think she'd be a fun one.....

Sorry to spam <3
I would also like to do one of the original cybermen that look like they have toasters for heads

@Rem- Perhaps I will have to do that.
@Soundy- Check muh facebook. I tried a half assed one right after I posted in this thread, hahaha.

If you do, you have to march ominously while I sing my (kinda-scary) filk about Rise of the Cybermen/Age of Steel from Series 1!
