In my opinion, manga is where it's at and when changing into an anime a few things become different and might ruin the manga so...

Kare Kano >>> Mysterious, depth to the story and characters, and you get to watch the characters grow and deal with day to day life as well as more serious things. Just a good story about life.

Would love to see it animated.

Gentlemen's Alliance Cross~ Arina Tanemura was one of the first things that got me into anime, I still love her stuff even though my tastes have changed completely. And I've heard of all of those but the last one.

I liked Kaichou Wa Maid-Sama from the anime. Hadn't read the manga. But I do wonder as to what happens with the couple after the anime stopped airing.

I just started reading this awesome JUMP manga called TORIKO.
It's about a Bishoku-ya which is a gourmet food hunter. Toriko and and other Bishoku-ya's goal is to hunt different food animals and plants and set up their full course meal. The beasts they fight and capture are awesome and look nuts! Skills and powers are explained nicely and it's so darn interesting. So far, I really like the fruit of rainbow which changes flavors as it you eat it. YUM.
It sounds weird but it's so cool and it's turning into an anime soon! First episode is already out and theres going to be a movie of Toriko and OnePiece in 3D! Although I don't think it's like a cross over.
I recommend it to all SHONEN JUMP fans!

Favorite... That's a tough one... I enjoyed Othello a lot, but I also really enjoyed Mobile Suit Gundam: Ecole du Ciel and Mobile Suit Gundam: Lost War Chronicles. Destiny's Hand is pretty good as well, though I don't believe that the whole series ever came out in the US.
Strawberry 100% has been pretty good so far, and so has Pandora Hearts.
And I have to admit it, one of my favorite manga series is the Star Wars manga. Two of my favorite things-- Star Wars and anime/manga-- merging into one? How can I not be all over that? :P

I don't really have a favorite ANYTHING, but as far as manga goes, Hourou Musuko has continuously supplied me with I KNOW THAT FEEL moments and bitch tears flowing down my cheeks for the entirety of it's run (or rather, the entirety of my following it, seeing as it's been going for a really long time as of now).
Really, though, this is a vague question. It's pretty much impossible to just summarize up "manga", expect us to let everything inherent in all of Japanese comics commingle, and have some favorite arise. I mean, with SoL yonkoma stuff, things like Yotsuba and Hidamari Sketch come to mind, but on the other end of the spectrum you can see violent action type stuff, and all of a sudden I'm thinking of Berserk and Deadman Wonderland and the like. Drama manga brings to mind completely different things than Shonen material, and how on earth am I to seriously compare a Mahou Shoujo and a gritty story about life after the apocalypse? Ever see Tenshi no Tamago? Putting it next to K-On is like trying to find out how tasty soap is! Things like that just aren't really fair to compare to each other.
Basically, yea.
I don't have one.

Recently, Hayate no Gotoku.
This surprised me, 'cause I almost didn't keep watching the anime long enough to become a fan... I really wasn't happy with how clever they thought they were with all the "running gags" (Kyo-Ani and SHAFT have gotten me half-sick of those) they invented. But I wound up liking the anime anyway, and wound up loving the manga. With a few exceptions - but thankfully Wataru, Saki, and Katsura-sensei don't get that much screen time.

My absolute favorite right now is a manga called "7 Seeds". It doesn't seemed to be very well-known, but I really wish it was! x3 It's a post-apocalyptic drama about people awaking from cryonic preservation to find that the world has ended, and grappling with the fact that they're likely the last of the human race. Also, there are plenty of man-eating creatures there to greet them. It's been running since 2001 and is still ongoing... Not sure if it's available in the U.S., but I know it's online. I highly recommend it. :D

Ah....It's been a while. Anyway. Things have totally changed. Yotsuba, DragonBall, and Bakuman totally replace Claymore. I am really into Dragon Ball now. It's like genius in so many aspects. The fights, the art, characters, and general story, and the spirit. Oh yeah, totally have to talk about Hikaru No Go too. That was great, but It had a crappier ending than Death Note. Man, once you go JUMP, you never go back.
