So during the con this year, I had tons of fun in with the Kuroshitsuji group. I was hoping that we could plan a meet up sometime in October, November, or even February if we can't decide by that time. This would be a potluck style event so it would be great for everyone to bring a dish *cough* and make the Sebastians serve it *cough*
Location: Pioneer Mall, Portland (FINAL)
Date: November 20th!
Time: 11:00-11:45 a.m. arrival (Meet in the center of the Food Court)
11:45 a.m. we go do whatever from there.

Derp well if no one questions the location in about two days it will become final. Now we need a weekend in November. I can't do it on the weekend of the 6th..it's my sister's bday.

i cant do that weekend either. my dads bday weekend. and i really dont care where it is in portland... i really wouldnt mind if its in vancouver either. also, im going as myself. cuz my cosplay is on hold until i can get better. why not do chinatown? that would be so cool!

With the Lloyd Center we could hang out in the mall, go to the park outside, or even head down to the Waterfront if we wanted to via Max and hang out (like we did at the Vocaloid meet lolKristi)

um lloyd center isnt anywhere close to the waterfront. and you just get off at the stop that says chinatown then go north for like a couple blocks. and then youre in chinatown!

And Steely, if you have Ran Mao's hair done, you could always do a casual version/original version.
If I have my Joker wig figured out by then, then I'll probably do a casual version of him...If I don't feel like wearing a suit for William, b/c he wouldn't wear anything else but...

honestly, ill have to see if i get the wig in time. i havent even ordered ran maos wig yet. my hair isnt black and i would prefer not dying it black. so i have to go and buy the wig. plus, i havent even started looking for materials as well. and since i dont have my own source of money yet, my dad is my bank for the moment. so it depends on payday and convincing my dad that i need it.

idk. im gonna find out this weekend. i was gonna go there to find tassels. maybe even some asian shoes. i know theres a super yummy restaurant there and the chinese garden.

Srs guys...Chinatown is mostly full of shops and restaurants...nothing much else. So we really need to think about this..

Pros and Cons to Lloyd Center
Pros
-cover from the rain, saves everyone's cosplay (including Shay's Blood)
-cheap food
-park right next to it
-it's really easy to get to, and almost everyone knows how to get there.
-we can hang out near the fountain
-take the max line down to the waterfront near the hilton (it's possible...we did it at the vocaloid meet)
-Lots of fountains and parks to take photos at near the hilton.
Cons
-can't have costumes that cover your face
-might have an issue with Bloody!Alois in the mall..lolmallcops
- we all might be tempted to go ice skating.
Pros and Cons to Chinatown
Pros
-New location
-Photos at the lovely entrance
Cons
-Kuroshitsuji is based in the European style...it doesn't make much sense to go to Chinatown.
-No known Rain cover (at least that is fun to hang out at)
-not much to do, small section of Portland, mostly shops and restaurants (pretty expensive)
So looking at this logically...what do you guys honestly think?

Pioneer mall would probably be better as well, cosplay wise. They allow more things and don't stare at us like we're going to steal something or kill someone...
And especially if it doesn't rain, I think we could get some awesome pics at the bricks!

linksimposter: im not too picky. i really like sweets, chicken (any form except with mushrooms), sushi, and food in general. I have this thing against tomatoes, mushrooms and mustard. So, if you bring brownies, i will glomp you and do a happy dance. and sad face about fish. cuz fish and chips are yummy!

Steely, on the front page it says the Pioneer Mall, so that is where we will meet up. I will put additional information up there for where in the mall we will meet, but if it was the Pioneer Square we were actually meeting at, it would be up there.

Jason, this is a Kuroshitsuji meet so cosplaying from a totally different series just doesn't make sense. Feel free to come if you're a fan of Kuro, but if you're just coming to come to a meetup, I'd rethink that plan, for you may not feel as welcomed...

Casual versions of characters are fine...but unless you are a fan of the series and really want to cosplay that character for a specific reason (ex. you want a picture of Goku fighting Sebastian) then it just seems like trolling :/

Um, this isn't a Naruto meet up. It's Kuroshitsuji...Black Butler. If I have to put it blankly I will, though I rather dislike being rude.
-If you don't know Kuroshitsuji..don't come
-If you do come, knowing nothing of the series, and dressed as a character from a completely different genre anime, you are trolling.
-To simplify that last one, Don't come to the meet cosplaying as someone from DBZ or Naruto. This is a Kuroshitsuji cosplay meet up. Not a Naruto or DBZ meet.
-You may come in no cosplay, or a casual version of a Kuroshitsuji character.

To sum it all up, I didn't know whether Kuroshitsuji was the name of a cosplay group in general, or a new series I haven't heard of yet. Since it seems like the latter, I'll just come dressed as myself and learn more about the series.
I know coming in a cosplay not related to the theme is about as bad as not wearing a cosplay at all, but at least I won't be an eyesore to the group. Yet I seem to have no cosplays for any new meet that might spring up unless it was open and not limited to the theme. I understand that what I've been doing in the past was unknowingly trolling, and to those who have seen me before, I'm sorry for being so desperate as I was.
I know the basic format of a meet is:
Pick a theme, decide if it's open cosplay or limited to it.
Throw out a date, time, and place in the future and see if interest grows.
The interested group may ask for a more flexible day, time, and/or place that everyone can make it to.
Count down the weeks, days, and hours until the meet rolls around.
Celebrate with fans of a similar interest, or the established theme.
With that in mind, I guess I'll just play it like it is.

I'm the drifter with no costume to wear, so I'm neutral about who shows up as what character, but I will have some artwork to pass around while the snacking commences. If anything I need to slam Powell's and read at least the first book of Black Butler. I at least checked Wikipedia for the story overview.

The next one I go to, I'll be sure to have leveled up by then in knowledge of the awesome series. Even if I didn't come too prepared, I have my fire back and ready for the next one to be better.
