Hey there! This is a post for the offical Hetalia Day in Eugene, Oregon and this is the thread to make it happening! The date would be Sunday, Oct 24th. The time is from 12-5 pm :D And the place is at Alton Baker~ First we need to know who is interested of attending :D Here we'd like to share any fun idea to do the day and.. what not :D

Hmm, I'll have to wait intill it gets closer to be for sure about it, but if i can, i'll be Russia or France.

EDIT: Damn o-o I didn't know it was that far away....maybe you should have it closer to Portland ^^; Because i know a lot of the Hetalia cosplayers are from or close to Portland and i don't think a lot of them would want to drive almost three hours just for one meetup...

Even though it was suggested for Roseburg, it's a three hour drive, speeding, from Portland to Roseburg. And a good number of Hetalia cosplayers, short of the groups in Eugene and Roseburg its self, seem to be in or around Portland.
Besides, even though I didn't go, it seemed like the Hetalia Day last year did just fine in Portland. D:

But I agree with what Shi says about Eugene. Roseburg is just a really inconvenient place.

A Portland trip every now and then is healthy and fun! I think Portland has the most cosplayers so it makes sense to have it where the most people are.

Being would be fun but I don't have a good wig for it and I'm falling in love with Prussia. TODAY I WAS REALLY COOL...

@Fuyuko: I was gonna tell you that I could give you a ride if it was going to be in Roseburg, since I decided that we would go and just hadn't posted about it, but I can still give you a ride to this one, wherever it's gonna be, if you want~ Aaah as long as it stays on Sunday. 8D

All right so we got some people associated to go, but now we need to figure out the time of the event and who's going to carpool (cuz thats important too!) The place of it is up for debate as well, though I recommend a park (lol duh) Any special ideas anyone has? Heres a first estimate of time 3 - 6pm. What are opinions on?

So Kyo, would it be alright if I posted this event up on the Eugene Cosplayers group on FB? I can keep track of those not on the forums who are interested in attending.

As for the time and location, a park is always awesome and there are plenty here, thankfully. Hmm, I can think of quite a few good ones here... *researches*
Time-wise, late afternoon would be easier for those travelling from Portland and such; so maybe 1 or 2PM at the earliest? And I'm all for 6PM for the ending time. :3

I agree with the park thing. There are lots of amazing parks here too. I also like the idea of making it just a bit longer~ Maybe a 1 or 2PM start time. That way, the people who have to drive a ways have a good break~ n.n

Haha I've only been to Alton Baker and Hendricks parks here~ I like Alton baker for its wide open space, but Hendricks was really beautiful and forested~ I dunno about the others.

Everyone, all right so heres the new rough estimate of the time 1-6 pm leaves good le-way for people from around to arrive :D

And yes the location bit we are still kinking out, but does anyone have any idea of some special events we can do? Maybe have a bit of potluck for everyone :D (world peace picnic ftw~) And other than a probable photoshoot, anyone have any fun ideas? :3

Heres a Carpool list that I'll probably put up on the main post after a bit :3 From the forums this was all I can figure out so far, so if anyone who aint on this list needs a ride, state where you are and which direction you need to head to get to eugene so we can see who's willing to take and who's willing to pick whoever on the list up :D

I'll probably make this as Austria.

From what I remember of Eugene public transport, Alton Baker is easier to bus to than Hendricks Park, in case that's a factor for anyone.

Oh, should also add that meeting earlier in the day is better. That late in October the sun sets around 6/6:30 at the latest, yeah? I dunno how much you guys wanna be out past sunset in any of Eugene's parks. I, for one, am not super fond of crackheads, hobos OR crackhead hobos.

I was thinking the same thing about times. 6 is like, the very latest we should end for sure~ Uuugh crackhead hobos.

And yes, yayyyy Eugene budget issues! They've cut sooo many bus routes. So uncool~ Not that I ride the bus, but Oni Kitsune does. XD

Oh, and I'm gonna modify this to say that she and I will bring country appropriate entrees, or an entree and a salad, once we figure out who the heck she's gonna be. X3

But since I'm not native Eugene, the input of this is most appreciated! Anywho, thats a good point when one thinks about it. All right, calling to vote, who agrees the time should be changed to 12-5 pm? And also vote numba two, who thinks the event should be held at Alton Baker park?

SO anyway, greetings and all that fun shiz. This is well actually I don't know who I'm going to be. I'd like to be N.Italy but.. I'm not too sure about that. I don't know the Eugene area that well but I think overall this is a great idea. I'm going to try and help out as much as I can.

Ohhh POT LUCK. In that case I should be England or Germany since I can't cook worth.....well the oil that goes in the pan. ^ ^.

Dun worry i duno eugene well either xD thats the great thing bout maps on da internet though :D anywho, if ya dont want to really cook anything country wise thats fine, fast food stuff is always great :D like that, um, 50 mcnugget thing for 10 dolla at mcdonalds at moment (which, for even a few cents cheaper you can get 50 spicy chicken nuggets from wendys!) And that goes for ya'll :D.. drinks would be nice too probably xD

I don't know Eugene all that well, so I'm depending on a GPS to make sure I don't get lost. So I don't really care where it's held at~

I have no idea what I'll be making. : D I don't eat meat or wheat, so German food and Austria's ridiculous desserts are no-go for me. I could go easy-and-Russian and make beet salad. How do y'all feel about beets?

I have a 50% success rate with cooking and so I have no idea what to bring. Do pommes frittes count as German food if I call them pommes frittes?

So apparently we do need to reserve a shelter if we want to use one for this event. I also read that the planner is required to have a park rental permit which costs money, and that they have to call the rental coordinator in order to confirm the date and location, and then come up with a price for the shelter.

@Kyo: So, do we want to try that out or go with another plan? Either way, if we want to use a shelter in any other park, we still have to rent one. I can give you the link to all the info if you still want to go through with it? We can each pitch in if it's needed.

Edit: Also, if the number of people is under a certain amount... I forgot what it is... Like 20 or something, I don't think that we need a permit. The only problem would be if the shelter was reserved for another event. As long as it isn't raining, we probably wouldn't absolutely need the shelter. I'm just thinking aloud~ XD

I'll try and think of a good Plan B as well~ I have a feeling we may just end up going all out and have a picnic on the grass which is totally ok. Some of us will just need to bring plastic picnic blankets and such to prevent muddy or rainy issues. And I kinda like the tent idea. Sounds fun. :3

But I went back *look to saki* And I didnt add ya for a while because I was waiting for you to decide between France or Russia, since that was the only post I saw that that was your decision. Sorry, so I'll put down both till you make the decision :3 And if you dont see your name on the list still, I'm really sorry! I know a few people on here posted that possibly they were going, but they didn't say what they would be. So if thats the case, or I accidentally skipped you, just send a reply with what you're planning to be on it (cuz then I dont need to skim page after page of forum to find it) and so on :3

Also on a note! This was brought up to me last night, we got a large collection of people from this fandom for this meetup. So I want to make sure you guy know the basic ground rules of meetups. Like trying to give a good reputation for the fandom in the view of the public and not causing fights. It's World Peace day, so everyone should get along and there should be no problems, da?~

One more thing... please don't mutiny me :< I really wanna try to run something for once and yea, I'm human, sometimes I'm forgetful. But I'm really determined to make this work! But if it does get over my head, *I* will be the one to pass the torch to who I choose to lead. Ageha may be my sister but she can't pass on control without my permission. Yeah about my cosplay... ^^; I was just planning on showing up as whoever i felt like going as that day (also, i would have to wait untill i see what the weather is for that day because if it was really cold, i would most likely go as Russia. If it's not too cold, i would go as France. ^^)
Also, if i cosplayed as Russia, i wouldn't be wearing his wig...After Kumoricon i've gained a huge hatred if that wig...don't ask >_>

I suggest the Kings game.

How the game works:
Get some small peices of paper, and make sure their is one for every person that is playing.
Number them for how ever many people, BUT leave one left to write king on.
Ex: If their are 20 people playing, You would number them 1-19 and the 20th peice of paper would say king.
Everyone sits in a circle and draws a peice of paper at random, Once everyone has one, you look to see what was written.
Who ever gets "KING" Is the king, and their word is LAW.
The King then picks a random number, 1-(how ever many are playing) and makes them do whatever they wish.
Main rule is, you aren't supposed to know who is which number.
Ex: The king orders number 3 and 6 to race to some location. With out thinking, both people should get up and run.
Once that kings wish is complete, all the papers go to the last king, and you draw again, begining another round.
I love this game, and I feel other people will too.
BUT!
Rules-
Nothing innappropriate.
Nothing involving people outside of the people at the meet up.
and no doing anything illegal or harmful to others, whether it be in character, joking, or other wise.
THE KINGS WORD IS LAW.

Haha I subscribed to this thread, so I only check when I get an email~ Oh man, I can't believe it's so close! I'm gonna try to test out the strudel recipe for my Austria this week and also figure out how much I need to make~

Ahhh, it looks like there may be some showers on the 24th, but the weather can always be wrong. Let's cross our fingers, and don't forget to bring an umbrella, just in case.

GOOD WEATHER STORY.

My friend and I were going to drive to seatlle for sakuracon last year, and apperently the BIGGEST STORM OF THE YEAR WAS ROLLING IN, HABIDFAHSFKNNO!!@!1! and my parents were freaking the eff out. but we went anyway and once we got there, it pretty much only sprinkeled like, 2 times the whole weekend. :T

I had never watched any until last night at Wuntvor's Anime Friday. Watched the first 3 and was amazed by the level of crack. I can see why it's addictive and I was also like WTH really? Whoever came up with the idea is genius.

That said best wishes for the event, I might happen by (more likely I'll be at work) but I am not immersed (yet) in the fandom enough to have any cosplay for it.

It's okay to have umbrellas when you're in cosplay. Highly styled wigs/delicate costumes+rain=very very bad

Yeah! It turned out more amazing than I imagined! So many people showed up omg!! <3

I really enjoyed celebrating Hetalia Day with everyone! If my cold wasn't acting up so much, I would have been more energetic than I was during the time; so I'm sorry if I came across all "mehhh" to anyone. ><

Thank you very much, Kyo/Russia for organizing this!! And same to the Denmark who was in charge of the other half of the group. ^^

Well i had a really fun time ^^ (other than the part where i nearly had a stroke...) and i got to see a lot of you i haven't seen sence the Hetalia photoshoot at Kumoricon.
I just hope next year could be a little closer and/or an easier place to find ^^;;;
