HERE IT IS, Gang!
Tons of thanks to all the entrants for your part in entertaining this year's crowd.
Many people told me they enjoyed the contest entries, and all that really needs
to pass on up to the competitors.
Hope to see you again next year!
This year, I am also showing which entries received 2nd places in the categories as well.

Like, is that OKAY?!?
(No really: warm congratulations to you; Best of Show was also shown at Closing Ceremonies and the audience loved it...)

Thank you very much. :3 It's just a big shock; I won Best Comedy and Best in Show with Ginta at Sakura Con, and I never expected to get the same acolades again at another con. I'm glad that it was (once again) such a big hit with the audience.

FYI, the numbers indicate the order of play within each category, not the polling results.
Incidentally, ALL entries got at least ONE vote for best in category; including ONE entry that got exactly ONE vote for best in its category (but I won't say which one that was!)

2. Romanticizing the Present
4. I Can Has WMM
1. A Matrix of Children
6. Code Gaga <- Winner
Those ones are mine :). Anybody who is looking to download or rewatch them, they can all be found on my profile here... http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_myprofile.php?user_id=957875
Great show this year everybody, this was really one of the best Kcon AMV Contests ever in my opinion :)

I've been looking up and downloading several of these vids off of amv.org, but I can't find Crosspoint. Does anyone have a link to where I can download it?

This competitor only sent the AMV to me privately; I will contact him privately and see if he is 'cool' with me sharing the d/l link here.
If he says 'No,' then we will have to respect his wish and move on...

Oh, I certainly don't mean to be invasive; it was just my favorite vid of the contest this year so it is sad not to be able to find it :D

This might surprise you Samcyxk but one of the members who saw it was a Twilight fan and he laugh alot and love it.

It doesn't surprise me, and yet it does. I've had Twilight fans tell me that they adored the video before, but it always amazes me.

That person was really me and I laugh very hard are you planning to make more like that with new moon and eclipse?

Haha! :) Well, probably not. For one, I don't think the reviews for New Moon and Eclipse are as good as the first one. Second, I don't wanna make one that's not as good as Ginta Reviews, and have people compare them badly. Third, I have so many more ideas I wanna complete
-
Ok and I hope we could see a amv based off Scott Pilgrim vs The World trailer.

Ok and I hope we could see a amv based off Scott Pilgrim vs The World trailer.
I'll definitely keep that in mind, but like I said, so many AMV ideas, so little time. Working on videos for Sakura Con and Kumoricon 2011, and already have my ideas for Sakura Con 2012. It'll hafta wait in line XD
-
Cool and if you did a amv based off Scott Pilgrim Vs the World who would you use as the cast.

Umm... I've never actually seen the movie ^^; All I know is a need a kinda nerdy guy, and a girl who has had a buncha boyfriends (and a girlfriend)
;A; If only I had Ouran High clips...
-
Look up the trailer that could help.
-
I have, I've seen the trailer before. And that's all I remember from it. Still, it'd be funny to have Tamaki be Scott and Haruhi be the girl he's after. Have people like Hikaru, Kasanoda, Kyoya, and the girl she accidentally kisses as exes.
-
Cool so Haruhi could be Ramona and Tamaki (who I never heard of) is Scott.

You've never heard of Tamaki? The blond head of the Host Club?

and the twins can be the twins!

A question for Guy - from what I'm reading and interpreting, only the contest finalists were shown, right?
If so, is there a way (next year or sometime in the future) to be able to show all contest entries at some point during the con? They do this at Sakura Con, and it's always something I look forward to.
-
Id go with multiple anime for the seven evil exes. That's too good of an opportunity to have a range of characters fighting to pass up.
I'm thinking Keitaro/Naru for Scott/Ramona.
And Shinobu as Knives. :p

You're more than welcome to do that, sounds like you know a lot more about Scott Pilgrim than I do XD Besides, a trailer made by you would easily blow mine outta the water

...is there a way (next year or sometime in the future) to be able to show all contest entries at some point during the con? They do this at Sakura Con, and it's always something I look forward to.
Generally (and this year also) I work in some of the 'almost made it' AMVs into the Pre-show or the Show, and if there are open slots or extra time left over, sometimes an editor will be present and ask 'can you run my entry while we have everyone here, so I can observe an audience reaction?' and I have done that too.
The editors can see if the audience reacts to the scenes the way they expected, or how many seconds it takes them to 'get' a scene and react, and then they can sometimes re-tune entries to re-submit them into future contests.
For example if you setup a double-whammy and the audience noise hasn't yet settled down from the first gag, then they won't hear the audio which might be needed to understand the second hit - which becomes a 'dud' because nobody got to hear the set-up for it.
There was one time in which I had scheduled a dedicated block to show runner-up entries, but these are audience-driven events, and it turned out that the audience soon became interested in watching more entertaining works, such as winners and higher-order runner-ups from previous contests, and so we switched the content to follow the crowd.
Recently we threw one of the runner ups onto the screen and it was one of the almost-max duration slow-pokes, all 4min and twenty-something seconds of it, and from what I could tell the audience pretty much sat there until it went away.* (This is what the judges' panel does FOR you - so you don't HAVE to!) So, when I show runner-ups, rather than committing to showing the entire block, I try to steer toward the higher-scoring runner-ups or works with lesser-known anime or unusual styles.
(*if there was a set of distantly-seated, highly-energized viewers in the audience whom I did not detect, then I offer my apologies.)

I totally get that ,at Sakura Con there are videos that I dun wanna sit thru when all entries are shown. I guess it's just my own personal preference to see what everyone submitted.

Anyone know the song used for "Never let you go"?
Never mind >.< found it xD
