I really like Nightmare, The GazettE, and (I don't know if they quite qualify, but . . . . ) Smile Dk.
And comparing Nightmare's sound to The GazettE's, there are definitely similarities. Now compare them to the latter. COMPLETELY different. :o ;)
And yes, I was introduced to the former two through anime. ;)

Gackt! I don't know what it is but... his voice is AMAZINg to me.

Seeing him in person, at the concert, just totally confirmed it.
And I got to touch him!

Miyavi. >3>
Though personally I like k-pop and k-rock better. I dunno man, that's just how I am.
-
Shaura (aka Juka)! And Versailles! These are both heavily on the Visual Kei side of things, but that's an offshoot of J-Rock, right?
-
JAM Project and The Alfee.
And of course MASAKI ENDOH!
-
Hmm, right now I really love The Gazette and SID, hehe~
-
Ooh, I love SID too. Introduced by anime, of course. ;)
Is it sad that I can sing along with almost all of the Kuroshitsuji openings? ;)
-
Also ナイトメア, Dir en Grey, and D'espairsRay - three more of my favorites, ナイトメア being responsible for three of my favorite anime theme songs ever ("Alumina", "The World", and "Raison d'Etre").

Versaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiilllesssssss
Yeeeeeeeeeees, thank you. I [re]echo it, I love that band. One of the most musically complex and layered Japanese bands I've ever heard. Goood stuff.

Of course that's not sad, that's awesome! D: *hugshugs*

Yoshida Brothers are the BEST. Theres no singing it's just awesome music. The way they play that Shamisen is awesome.
It's not really JPOP or anything it's like Traditional music with a modern twist.
I want to get a Shamisen some day.

As for actaul Jpop it would probably be...eh...Nothing beats Yoshidas brothers...
I don't really like bands or groups, I just like a large variety of songs.

YES! I'M NOT THE ONLY PERSON WHO KNOWS ABOUT THIS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING BAND
They're the only Japanese band to have ever been in my top five favourite bands. Currently they're at number 8...and in good company. (my top 10 in order are: Rhapsody of Fire, Dream Theater, Nightwish, Amberian Dawn, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Blind Guardian, Versailles, Rush, REM)
X-Japan isn't too far behind, but they don't rock my socks quite like Versailles does.
