Once again, we will be doing a cosplay scavenger hunt at con. If you would like to be hunted down by random people so you can give them a sticker, please email programming@kumoricon.org the following information:
- Your name
- Your cosplay
- Day you are doing said cosplay
Please keep in mind... if you are accepted, you will be assigned a day to be stalked. We are relying on you to wear that cosplay that day, so please email us only if you are able to make that commitment.
Once we have enough people, we will post here to let you know that sign-ups are closed.

This is very, very, very tempting.
Would we be able to do it for most of a day? I'm only wearing one cosplay on Saturday but I'm going to a photoshoot that evening in a different outfit.

Does the event run the whole Con, or are there separate rounds for each day? I take it volunteering to be stalked disqualifies one from participating?

The event runs for the entire con, however you can wear different costumes each day for the Scavenger Hunt, or only do it one or two days. Or the same costume on all the days! I do not know what the rules for participating while being hunted are however.

if your being hunted then you should be in your 'hunted' costume for most if not all of the day, And in con space. think can some one find cloud if he changed into Ed. Or stayed in a viewing all day.

One person found me
my younger brother how sad is that? and I made sure to walk allllllll over con space so people saw me
I even waited in dealers hall line just because of the heavy foot traffic

That is because no one knew the hunt was happening! I wanted to look for people but had no idea where the list was. Was there even a winner? Was this in the program guide even??

All I know is that it was hard as hell finding people especially when they left early or changed towards the end of the day. :-\ And I was all over that con my day. I even went to the Kingdom Hearts shoot! If some people had common sense(not trying to offend anyone, just pointing something out) they would have gone to the shoot and found 3 Kairis. :P

There was a sheet with the cosplayers of each day at the info booth, tho I heard it got mixed up with other papers there at times,
people picked to be in the scavanger hunt are picked because they are going to be in that costume most if not all of the day and visable in con space, tho things do come up
And yes there was a winner
After hearing me rant about not being found the entire time sunday walking around, my younger brother grabbed a sheet and 'found' me, then monday I was another character on it and look he found me again, then when we were walking out of dealers hall we saw 2 other people, (and I was no help, while I was a scavanger 'find' I didn't know who else was or what they looked like) kumo, and one other was standing with him forget character, then jack sparrow in the lobby, all within like 5 mins of each other
so he found 5 total, 3 on pure luck

On a more positive side I have an idea that I want to talk to programing about this that I think will make it a more awesome event

i didn't know this was going on, but if i had i totally would have participated. my friends and i didn't even see a list, but then again we didn't look too hard, since we did't know it was a event. maybe put the list in the schedule next year?

I think there was a special button for the first couple that had all of them, but I think it might have misprinted that you had to turn it all in compleated, seriously tho you should have turned it in, a lot of k-con games are about doing your best, and alteast trying you know?
I have 2 ideas to make this better, just ideas nothing in stone
1 forms that have a greyed picture of the sticker on it, so people have an idea who they are looking for
2a little video about scavanger hunt how it works and where the forms will be avalible? Have to get it okayed, but maybe shown during opening of next years con?
any ideas what do you think?

I like the second idea, though the comment above might be questionable as well. I know I didn't go to opening, but it would still help. Maybe loop it in the info booth TV display (if its short.) Oh, i like the first idea too.

I like both ideas but I also think number 2 would be good because there is a good number there, even if it isn't huge, so I'm sure a bit more people would have participated. And I'm sad cuz I thought you had to have all of them. :'(

thanks I forgot to put that my younger brother drew this, he's been doodling con experinces in this style
Right now the con is going to go thru elections and then the holidays, once things settle I will talk to who ever in charge of it about it, and making it more sucessful, I have a friend who has a video recorder, maybe I can bribe him to borrow it to make the vid
Also once its made I could load it to youtube and post a link to the forums, get it sticky'ed too

Yeah, I was frustrated with this as well. We did the seeking last year and opted to be sought this year, as it's great fun. No one came to find us :( And I know we were visible; everyone loved my husband's cosplay: Kurogane:) I was Ayu from Kanon, and we were both dressed up all weekend. No one came to get stickers :( I made sure the Rant and Rave heard about it. It wasn't advertised AT ALL, and the prizes sucked last year for us who worked so hard and actually did win. I suggested they give away a free pass to the next year's con, and they took to that idea quite well. I have high hopes for K-Con 2011!

Yeah, wow, I would have hunted if I knew it was going on. Though I don't know that many animes, I do know Kurogane!
I think I will try and be hunted next year...

Yes, we didn't know too many anime series last year when we hunted either. Therefore, each night, we Google-imaged the characters and used that for the hunt! Perhaps the person organizing the scavenger hunt can include little pictures to help:) I'm sorry to the person who couldn't find us (Ayu or Kurogane?)... we were there all weekend, and in all the major events. I think things will improve with this next year, so I'll likely volunteer to be hunted again! :)
