Gyah, so much dub hate. Let's get some dub LOVE in here! Heck, didn't the Cowboy Bebop director say he liked the English dub better than the Japanese?
-
Code Geass, Gurren Lagann, Cowboy Bebop, FLCL, Eureka SeveN, Peach Girl, xxxholic, Samurai Champloo, Ghost in the Shell, and Fullmetal Alchemist are all shows with dubs I quite enjoy, off the top of my head.
Code Geass is my favorite dub ever, I far prefer watching it dubbed over subbed <3
Also, I lovelovelove the english voice cast for the .hack//G.U. games~
-
Shows i likie better in english...
Bleach, Ouran, FMA and Death Note are the first things that come to mind, but im sure there are more. Im definitely not a snub when it comes to dubs :)
-
Gurren Lagann, Mushishi, Speed Grapher, and Zoids~!
haha and these
Eureka SeveN, Samurai Champloo, Ghost in the Shell
-
Ghost in the Shell. Most assuredly my favorite dub of all. And I liked Chobits too. But afterwards I switched over to subs, and really don't see much dubs anymore. However I do like Fruits Basket, and especially when Shigure says "High school girls, high school girls!" It just totally cracks me up.
Oh, and Afro Samurai, how can you not love Samuel L. Jackson?
Thornton, Patton, Haag, Blum, and the entire cast of G.I.T.S are my favored dub actors.
-
I loved the Tenchi Muyo OVA dubs.
-
Samurai 7 had an AMAZING dub. Far superior to the subs, in my opinion.
Other good ones include:
Burst Angel
Hellsing
Elfen Lied
Irresponsible Captain Tylor
Paranoia Agent
Heat Guy J
and of course, all Studio Ghibli films.
Most of the stuff I like has a really good dub, but there are always exceptions. *coughcoughNOEINANDHIGURASHI!cough*
-
Kino's Journey - No over-the-top voice acting. Very nice, subtle, and fits the situations perfectly.
Tenchi Muyo OVA - The older first 13 episodes at least. Couldn't get over the new Ryoko voice. I can stand it but it just sounds so off from the first.
-
Higurashi itself is pretty hard to take seriously so I actually think its dub suits it ~
-
Gotta say, I liked Hellsing.
-
Gotta say, I liked Hellsing.
XP really? Kitty's stereotypically high pitched featherbrained voiced kinda bugged me *remembers what the thread is about* OHRIGHTNOHATING *feels like a troll*
-
Only dubs I actually really like are Hellsing Ultimate and Yu Yu Hakusho.
-
Dub? I love dub- Nero and some other dubstep....
Oh- Anime dubs? ahhh...I guess Outlaw Star- mostly cause it is a classic in my mind and can do no wrong.
-
Inuyasha, Shaman King, Ranma 1/2, Death Note, Fruits Basket, Rozen maiden,
-
Shuffle!
-

AND THOSE. : D
-
Gurren Lagann, Ghost in the Shell and xxxHolic definitely had some good dubs.
I've also been enjoying the Engilsh dub of Kanon... Man, the voice of Ayu and Makoto are friggin' adorable.
-
DEVIL MAY CRY DUB was like super uber epic.
Dragon Ball Z dub is super cool.
FMA is super cool.
Naruto is cool also. Just except for Naruto's voice.....But like I can listen to Kakashi talk all day.
Cowboy Bebop was so awesome.
Eureka seveN.
Pokemon.....The old ones. You can hear Ash's old voice on Dinosaur king. Infact you can hear lots of the Pokemon crew on that.
Yu-Gi-Oh...Most of the characters.. Like Joey!
DeathNote.
Now....I will be waiting if Dragon Ball Kai dubbed and hoping ir will be good.. Because this time the Japanese screwed up their own version.. Goku's voice is HECKA HIGH. Bardocks is HIGHER.
-
Can't believe nobody has mentioned Golden Boy yet!
-
I do have my anime's I love in DUB over SUB
Blue Seed
Full Metal Alchemist
Cowboy Bebop
Tenchi Muyo
Trigun
Fruits Basket
Inu Yasha
Kino's Journey
Saiyuki
-
I thought Spirited Away was uber hawt
-
Yeah! Funimation dubs- Boo! Viz dubs.
-
Nobody loved ADV dubs?
-
ADV dubs were AMAZING. ;A; I'm so sad they're not around anymore...
-
Heres mine
Cowboy Bepop
Inuyasha
Death Note!!!!!!!!
And the worst is mainly Sailor Moon..... :'(
-
I agree with Cowboy Bebop, that dub was really well done.
The other dub I honestly prefer to the japanese is Slayers. That's probably because Slayers was my first anime and the only way I could watch it was on rented VHS tapes, which were dubbed or nothing! And the video store had maybe 3 rows of anime total. You kids these days with your DVDs, you don't know how good you have it, haha.
(In comes somebody even older than me going on about having to order fansubs on VHS tapes because you couldn't even buy them...)
-
Nobody loved ADV dubs?
I also liked ADV dubs
-
Full Metal Panic is just pure epic in English.
-
One cannot have dub HATE without dub LOVE.
My favorites are: (In no particular order.)
1. Outlaw Star
2. Yu-Gi-Oh
3, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
4. Trigun
5. Ronin Warriors
6, Teknoman
7, Gundam Wing
8. Monile Fighter: G-Gundam.
9. Tenchi Muyo
10. Code Geass
-
I'm sure someone already mentioned them, buuuut...
Yu Yu Hakusho. One of the first animes I ever got into, one of the first I watched through to the end, it was amazing. Awesome dubbed songs, awesome voice acting, lovely job.
Trigun, but that could just be because I'm a total fangirl for Johnny Yong Bosch.
Cowboy Bebop was done fairly well, IMO.
Whisper of the Heart was done quite well, I enjoyed it immensely.
Case Closed...I disliked the acting itself (most of it, anyway -- there were some amazing voices in there), but the songs were done beautifully.
And, uh...One Piece. Which makes me a bit sad, considering I don't actually like the anime/manga.
-
I hate most english dubs,
but I think the english dub for Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi was really well done.
I think Haruhi and DragonBallZ had decent english dubs too.
-
Personally, I prefer all of my anime dubbed. I'd have to say my favorite one, though, is Blue Seed.
-
LUCKY STAR is the only english dub I can think of that is BETTER than the Japanese version, but I also thoroughly enjoyed the dubs of Chobits and Full Metal Panic.
-
BECK is fantastic in English. It being a show about a band, they had to dub all the songs, and managed to make them sound WAY better than the Japanese versions.

I did not know this.
It's one of my favorite animes, I have to go check out the dub now! Thanks very much for posting about it!<3
-
I'd say BECK is easily one of the better dubbings done for its music, as well as the rest.
-
For comparison:

The Same scene in English (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hk2a5sCT6Cg)

DragonBallZ had decent english dubs too.
Wow. I think you're the first person I've ever heard say that, at least in quite awhile.
-
Black Lagoon, Bleach, Clannad, Claymore, Code Geass, Cowboy Bebop, Death Note, Dragon Ball/Z/GT, Fullmetal Alchemist/Brotherhood, Haruhi Suzumiya, Hell Girl, Inuyasha, Lucky Star, Monster, Naruto/Shippuden, School Rumble, Scrapped Princess, Sazuka, Trigun.
I love English dubs!

The first anime that I ever actually watched in Japanese is Kuroshitsuji, and I am such a huge fan that I'm a little worried about the dub. I'm very happy with the cast (well done FUNimation!!! :D) but I'm strangely true to the original sometimes (more than sometimes . . . . And that applies to so much) that I'm just hoping for the best.
I did think that the Death Note dub was extremely well done. I loved how L's voice was just so cool and smooth. It fit his character perfectly. And Ryuk was just awesome. ;)
-
I am amazed no one has said Baccano! yet. It was done fantastically. One of my fave dubs ever.
That being said, other amazing dubs include Fullmetal Panic, Fullmetal Alchemist, Death Note, Hetalia, Princess Mononoke, and Soul Eater
-
NERIMA DAIKON BROTHERS.
There are not enough words to describe the awesome.
-
Inuyasha, Shaman King, Ranma 1/2, Death Note, Fruits Basket, Rozen maiden,
I totally gotta agree with SHAMAN KING. Thats probably 4kids best dub they have. The theme song was really good too.
-
^ I think you mean the ONLY good dub they've done.
I've recently finished El-Hazard: The Wanderers in English, and am going through it again. I thought things were done really well (except the opening and closing theme songs; ugh).
-
Mostly anything by Funimation. They have amazing voice actors.
The best english dubbed anime, in my opinion, is probably Dragon Ball Z. I find it better than the Japanese, myself. > u <
-
^^ One thing I have to say about 4kids is that they make cool funky theme songs...But yeah, their dubs totally suck. Some can be around the level of "okay"
-
^ Yeah, kind of, but not enough so to where I'd want them on my mp3 player, ya know?
-
I used to be obsessed with Mew Mew Power! XD Come to think of it, now I feel lame because I watched the 4kids dub and actually liked the opening and ending. XD
-
^ God! I hated that show! It was so korny!
I was like " WHERE THE HECK DID ULTIMATE MUSCLE GO!?"
-
^ Ultimate Muscle made me LOL because of how dumb it was.
-
I'd have to say props to Ghost in the Shell, Noir, Angelic Layer, and DNAngel. They are some great dub jobs.
