Post by: lover-of-the-pepsi on April 12, 2010, 08:54:01 pm
I got to help out with the auction last year, and found it to ba a lot of fun ^.^
My question is, can I do it again this year?

What did you do at the auction last year?

I held up items and walked around so people could see them. I know it doesn't sound exciting, but I had fun seeing seeing all the cool stuff and all the people happy when they won the bid  ;)

Feel free to ask about volunteering once all my staff is in place :)  To be staff on charity auction would mean a bunch more work.

Yes! omg, that was HILARIOUS!!! I still have mine.....i got the vol. 2 edition  ;)
I was really impressed at how cool some of the stuff was......and it wasn't untill after that i realised people probably thought i was trying to bring up the amount of money people offered for the items by bidding on stuff a lot......i swear that if i bid on something, it was because i really did want it, and if i let someone else have it it was because it went out of my price range  :'(
Although.....in the end, i did end up getting a nifty kumoricon bag, so it was totally worth it.  :D

Staff need to be 16.  Would you be by con?  Other than that, you'd need to be doing enough work on the auction to justify getting a staff badge.  This would either be pre-con orgizational/promotional work, or at con manning the booth in the dealer's hall and committing to helping at the auction.  Also, I would want to talk with any and all auction staff to make sure they know stuff* about how it needs to run: keeping track of how much lots went for, etc.

*Stuff you'd need to know ... is something I am working on.  I am trying to pull together Standard Operating Proceedure books for all my departments.  I haven't started Charity's one yet, still working on Dealers ;)  This year the auction will have pre-made forms and other things like that.

"They are like Aerosmith- they just won't go away!"

Oh I loved mocking them each time they came up.

Anyways I hope there is another mascot yuri poster to bet on- going to start saving up now.
