If you've been around the forums in the past few months you've seen me talking about Pocky Club, the glomp-happy Pocky delivery service (formerly Pocky Services, Limited). Well just because you're not a cosplaying cat-person doesn't mean you can't join our fun!
Pocky Club is in need of a variety of people to work in the background to help us live the cosplay dream of spreading the joys of Pocky. Currently we have plenty of people ready to take th pocky out to the grumpy and depressed public to cheer them up, but for each person delivering the pocky we need an Escort Agent.
The job of an Escort Agent is to protect not just our cheerful delivery cosplayers, but the clients and convention as well. They are the ones who verify a persons name and conduct the all important "Rite of Permission". Escort Agents don't even have a costume requirement, T-Shirt and jeans are good enough for these folks.
Pocky Club thrives on publicity, and whats a good website or banner without graphics! Currently Pocky club is looking for somone to help design our logo and illustrate our flyers. If you can draw in a program more complicated than MSPaint you're probably qualified! This position is so new that even other members of Pocky club might be able to do the job!

Finally, in honor of the creators of Pocky (glico), we are in need of a translator. We must be true to the noble heritage of Pocky and use as much correct Japanese as possible. To this end, the club needs a Translator with great skill in both speaking Japanese and writing it (non-formal, kanji I believe :oops: ). We must have the proper pronunciation and penmanship if we are to bring honor to The Joys of Pocky.
If you would like to apply for the position of transator please show an example of your work in translation, preferably "Pocky Club" or a similar club related phrase (such as the pocky flavours).
Pocky Club is great fun and in no way endorsed or incorporated with Kumoricon in a legal sense. We are independant fans who happen to all be going to Kumoricon.

Because I want to be able to shout out Pocky related slogans in Japanese and plaster our signs with Pocky related kanji. Get it?
Phrases Tom needs translated by somebody who's good with Japanese:
"Let's go Pocky Club"
"Fighting Spirit of Pocky"
"Give us Pocky!"
"Pocky Victory!"
"It's Pocky Stupid!"
...and also all the different flavours of Pocky. Men's Pocky, Giant Pocky (Daipocky?), ming tea Pocky, Strawberry Pocky, etc.

Its... Horrible... Never again... The Boxes are like 20 bucks each too, and if you eat ONE you feel like your gonna barf. I don't reccomend them.

I wouldn't be telling people that they can come up with better phrases if I were you missy! I don't see any of you doing anything more than cheerleading (which I assure you, is great). Why don't you guys come up sith some phrases that would make good slogans for us.
We're Pocky Club after all, not "Tomu-san and the Otakunauts"!

I'm sure we can find SOMETHING to do shadowfox! Escort Agents have the easiest job, you just walk with the person who delivers the pocky (in an enthusiastic and hopefully loveable manner) and verify that the the target is who you're looking for and that they don't mind being glomped.
If that's too hard for ya then you can always be a clipboard guy on opening day. Or hang out with us and buy some pocky for the cause.
Oh, and I want everyone to remember that this club is donation driven so if you want to help but are to busy or some thing, DONATE! :D
Oh, and Mika? Don't worry too much about where the topic goes. I'm very interested in what my club members are going to be up to at the con and what costumes they're bringing.

Good idea Neko_chan. Or we could do a Pocky Club karaoke of it if we learn it fast enough.
My next project for Pocky club involves my SCA friends, brown duct tape, and the building of an actual Pocky shaped club. I think I'll give it to my friend mechalith and make him a Pocky Enforcer costume.
He's the only member not on the forums you see.

For your first mission, I charge you with translating "Super Giant Pocky" into Japanese and getting me the kanji for it!
That's what I'm going to write on the Tetsubo Pocky.
In other news, I need a webmaster! Looking to help Pocky Club and have good HTML skills or know your way around Dreamweaver? Then you can take over the Pocky Club Website!

We're going to need a members page, a page describing the Pocky Delivery process, a pageabout glomping, a costume catalog, and a page about glomping. Not to mention lots of pictures of Pocky and us doing club stuff!

I'd like to help, but seeing as I'm just about the biggest flake in the world I fear I can't make any sort of commitment :sweatdrop: is there any way I could join up at the con it's self? I hope to be cosplaying as Momiji from Fruits Basket and I'd love to be an escorter of pocky ^.^

so u need people to do a banner for ya? i can make one for ya if ya want i am able to draw in all the adobi programs and all the macromidia ones and more there is just 2 many to type and it is 3 in the morning but ya. just tell me what your looking for and i will make some samples for ya.

Trust me, anybody who comes through for the club in the background duties like crafts and translations is definitely in the club.
That's an idea! Neko, make sure that Lauren...uh...Tiger helps when you guys make the big cardboard Pocky boxes!

did you not have a pm? I'm still waiting for an answer. Oh btw, please don't ever need a fabric that is knit or with stretch ever again. that fabris is a nightmare to work with and using a proper stretch stitch takes twice as long.

Basically it said that the logo on the shirt was more important than the trim because people need to know what team I'm on.

I have nothing in my in box dated later than Aug 7, try my email or call me I close at work today so if you by chance see this before 1 call I will be working very late as we have a new store manager starting monday, and we have only tonight to "perfect" the store. I'm off at 5:30 or 6 monday if that would be a god time to call and I can finish the costume between tuesday and friday as I have those 4 days off.
I have a feeling the pm things are not working very well lately
