Title: Gameboy Question~
Post by: oslapedo on January 18, 2010, 05:20:38 pm
My GBC is broken and I need something to play my Poke'man game on. Should I get a GBA, SP, or a Micro? Can Micros even play GBC games?

Thank you~

I think so? You talking about that weird thing you put under the GameCube? Haha, that's so weird! Maybe that'd be cool but I'd like to get something I can play on the go B-)

I have that weird thing you put under, and it's tighttt. But I can't help you otherwise, so best of luck!  :D

Both the GBA and GBA SP are backwards compatible with Gameboy Color and original Gameboy games. I recommend getting the GBA SP, the SP has a backlit screen which allows you to play it in the dark where as the GBA does not. It also folds to close which helps keep the screen from getting scratched. The only advantage the original GBA has over the GBA SP is a headphone jack.

The Gameboy Micro WILL NOT play Gameboy Color or original Gameboy games.

GBA SP would be your best choice over all
saves you on AA battiers and it has a back light
one of the ultimate Gameboys out there

I'll probably try and find a cheap GBASP somewhere then. I used to have one but I gave it to my friend a long time ago when I got a DS and now my DS is lost forever, how tragic :D

GBASP's don't have headphone jacks though? That sucks.

I was really mad when I got mine and saw no headphone jacks...

What Pokemon game you are playing? Also if you have a PSP you can emulate GBC games.

You can get an adapter to plug into the SP which will give you a headphone port, IIRC.  Not sure how feasible it would be to actually find such an attachment nowadays though.
