It's okay; it failed far harder then your original Ziddy anyway. I looked sunburnt when my jacket rubbed the red sharpie I used for the markings. xD

My first Roxas cosplay was all sharpie and goodwill clothes, the black chap-like part on the pants ALL sharpied xD half of its purple. Trust me you don't fail.

xD Well, it was more wig fail on my part ^^;; The cosplay itself was okay, even if I did need a gaudy leather jacket on at all times until school was over because bare mid-drift = no.

The last real steampunk FF game.
The thing I liked least about this game was the end boss.
I call him "Evil Kanji".

Ooooh, Grand Cross = massive pwnage >.< I loved Necron, though.
I also love the FF montage throughout the game. Characters attacks, Zidane's final weapon, the story told by Ramuh, the hidden music in the Black Mage Village, mentioning Cloud and Squall in the end of the game, the blatant mention of Cloud in the weapons shop in Lindblum... FFIX is the ultimate end to the great era of pre-PS2 FF games, and it ends it on such a nostalgic approach.
It even has references to other things, like the convo between the two smithers in Lindblum the first time you go almost being taken word for word from a similar convo in Parasite Eve, the blatant Resident Evil reference in the 'There is no place to insert the medal' bit in Lindblum's castle, the whole 'Dammit, Jim, I'm not a miracle worker!' reference to Star Trek... *sighs*
This game makes me really happy. I think I'll go play it now. ^^

Oh oh MY CHOCOBO IS NOW BLUE. I CAN WALK ON WAAAAATERRRRR NOW. I still hate the lagoon, takes up practcally the whole time just to dig ONE thing up, yeesh. and the mirrors, I hate that part, but that's where I am so being the lazy person I am, I'm running around on Choco finding chocographs since I reallly want to go to Mognet central and smack the moogle who rubbed the stuff all over himself forcing ME to play mail man.
EDIT: Future self/Zidane I've turned to the dark side.. I've fallen in love with Kuja :/

Oh yeah, I've added Kadaj to my Kumo '10 list. Hooray for being all childish and violent I'd be all.. "MOTHER!!!!" and jump off of a legde and be all "LOL I CAUGHT MOTHER!!"

Good to know there are other people who love FF9 as much as I do =D. Still my favorite game of all time! It's been closely contested by some of the RPG's I've let stack up that I'm slowly hacking away at, but IX always seem to edge them out. I certainly loved squall the most out of any final fantasy character, surprise surprise, but the amount of character development, plot twists, development, and lets not forget the best card game of any final fantasy TETRA MASTER, made this one the best FF (though I'm still willing to give blitzball the title of best mini-game ever). I kinda wanted to cosplay ff9 but never like a particular character to the extent of wanting to cosplay them from 9. Closest I think was blank and zidane, but nobody would recognize blank and zidane doesn't seem to get enough love.

'nobody will recognise Blank'? OF COURSE THEY WILL! Anyone who's played at least up to the end of Evil Forest will recognize him; I think Blank gets more screentime then even Baku! He's also the only member of Tantalus besides Zidane to appear in a FMV, I think. But Blank! We needs our Tantalus!

well...I suppose it's been awhile, or I never payed much attention to what he wore since I dismissed the idea of cosplaying him awhile back...that's a little to revealing for my tastes <_<. I don't feel like having my junk restricted or visible to the public through that outfit. Also I don't have time to make anything between school and work so I prefer to just pay someone to make stuff for me, but back to the drawing board. Thanks for trying though :)

Wow... just ... wow. I need to play it again it's been a while. I've watched all the pre-rendered vids resently though (for AMV reasons)
anyone here ever try to do a speed run (for excaliber2)? I haven't. My BF started one once but it was too much work. you have to avoid random encounters, skip (unskipable) cut sceens etc.

I've just recently done that actually, the way to skip the cutscenes is opening the diskcover and closing it again.

during the first cutscene when it shows the title of the game it will glitch, you need to open the disk cover and close it again, you won't miss anything, it'll skip the last 10 seconds of the title and go straight to the game, there's nothing else wrong with the game after that though.

Heather... I don't think that's even possible. Trust me; I think the influx of cosplayers from FFIX this year is because of the Elixir Fix group.
And Fallon... yes, I did get the Excalibur II... but I also did it during a Perfect Game run. I nearly threw it all away in frustration when my memcard corrupted the file. Three hundred hours down the drain ><

Naw, I tried playing it a couple years ago. I loved it, but then I got stuck, took a break, and when I came back, one of my brothers had erased my file. *headdesk* I got pissed, so I didn't play it again for a while, and then my PS2 broke. Then when it got fixed, I didn't have a PS1 memory card.
I do now~! *dances about with it*

This game rocks!
I just got 8 and 9 for my PSP (already having 7) and it's just my type of a Final Fantasy.
It has that cool olden times music and style unlike some other FF's. 8 was just terrible. I got so bored in hte beggining.
But yeah..Im at Gizamaluke Caverns.....I kept on dying there so im training everyone to like lvl 14 or 15.

Yay, IX! You hit it on the head, Narunik (although I beg to differ with VIII). VII, VIII, and IX have such a classic, traditional RPG feel and atmosphere throughout, none of the recent games come close to the sentimental aspects that these games, IX especially, mastered.

Yeah, that traditional feel is what I like about it. Although I havent played 8 that much cuz of 9. I just dont like the beggining of 8 at all.

Hmm, different strokes, but I'd encourage you to power through the beginning and give the game a shot. It's definitely still an amazing and traditional FF game, up there with VII and IX.
