So this is an idea i came up with a couple nights ago.
2 Ds's, 2 Designated Trainers (ash and gary?)
Each of them chooses 6 out of 12 of the volunteer gijinka pokemon (all of the volunteer pokemon would be breed and trained beforehand)
They choose them "Kickball Style"
They each take turns choosing one at a time.
Then the gijinkas act out every move that the trainers make on the DS's.
This is still a work in progress, but i thought it was a cool idea.
If you would like to volunteer for this, specify in this thread, or PM me.
Mention what position you would like to volunteer for.
Rules for pokemon:
Only final evolution pokemon allowed
No ubers: Arceus, Darkrai, Deoxys (all forms), Dialga, Garchomp, Giratina (and origin), Groudon, HO-OH, Kyogre, Latios, Lugia, Manaphy, Mew, Mewtwo, Palkia, Rayquaza, Shaymin Sky Forme, Wobbuffet,and Wynaut.
Pokemon will be assigned an item to hold/wear, while battling.
Pokemon must use the attacks that the trainer tells them to use. You will be informed of what attacks you will be using beforehand, via PM
Rules for trainers:
Not really any rules, just tell the pokemon what to do, and have fun doing it.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE COSPLAYING TO DO THIS. ANYBODY CAN BE A POKEMON TRAINER.
Battle Rules:
The pokemon and movesets will be premade as to eliminate all chances of cheating/illegal movesets.
The only real rule is that you can not put more than one pokemon on your opponents team to sleep at the same time. (sleep clause)

Now this is a real battle. I'm down for it. I was going to work on Pikachu or Charmeleon. But in that case, I can always crank it to Raichu and Charizard. If I'm Charizard I'll take Ash's side. Ash's Pikachu could sit by his side and not be one of the battling six, just it would refuse to go into storage because of its claustrophobia of pokeballs.
If you need me to hold a Flame Plate/Zap Plate, I can make one and bring it along as part of my cosplay.

If you were charizard, i would want you to hold a focus sash or leftovers, and if you were raichu i would want you to hold choice specs, choice band, or light ball.

Curse snorlax is actually considered one of the most powerful pokemon in competitive battling. with its already massive special defense and HP, raising its meh defense, and its decent attack is a godsend.
after about 3 boosts, a metagross' explosion only does about 50% damage.

My leftovers could be a pouch of Poke pellets or a fried Magikarp
Light Ball, a big yellow ball.
I can actually make attack components for my moves depending on what they are. Ex. Thunderbolt as a yellow ball with streamers, Fire Blast as a man shaped orange feather boa.

it doesn't really matter. the gijinka thing was just based on the fact that most pokemon cosplayers are gijinka.
if you do decide to do mascot version, you will still be allowed to battle.

I'm considering changing to a human-shape Pokemon, Hitmonchan. It's technically a final evolution as well as Hitmonlee and Hitmontop, all from Tyrogue.

Hitmonchan will smash through Dark-types. Unless, Absol, you're on my side, then you'll be perfect cover against the Psychic demons.

lol ya, that does make sense... I mean, fighting types are fairly weak against psychic pokemon.

Just a heads up, hitmonchan isn't really that great. Without a choice band, it 3hko's standard umbreon with Close Combat.

the thing about tyranitar is that he is quite good, but he has a 4x weakness to fighting, giving him a disadvantage with the recent uprising in superpower scizor's, and scarfnapes.
He can also be ohko'd by hitmonchan, so that puts him at a bit of a disadvantage.
i use a rather unique set for tyranitar myself to avoid being easily countered.
can't remember the EV spread for the life of me (will check later), but its

Ice Beam
Rock slide
Earth quake
w/ the choice scarf to speed it up, and modest boost, it can pretty much take out everything outside of cresselia with a 2hko, making it a great revenge killer.

sadly, I'm usually bad at battling actual people. That's why I tend to avoid playing against other people when it comes to video games.

I vote Classic, that's one of the things I have a problem with the new version is the 2 on 2 battle system, I don't know why.

I'm going to say no doubles.
It would be way too flawed.
The fact that they don't get to change there movesets and pokemon according to whether or not they are doubling creates a problem as doubling requires accute strategy. Standard battles on the other hand do not require as much strategy as it is a standard turn based system, where there are a lot less complications.

Yeah, doubles makes it seem more like an RPG styled battle. But straight up classic you can do so much more switching out, alternating pokemon that are resistant to the opposing type and have move elements that that type is weak against.

Well, i have the entire pokemon soundtrack, except for diamond and pearl on my compy, so i don't think battling music will be hard to come by.

i will probably be playing some old school pokemon: the first movie music.
