Alright guys. So I ended up making one of the below for my best friend for her birthday, and one for myself. It was the first time I had made them, but I had such a great time doing so. I feel the need to make more! X3 But I wanted to know what you guys think. I was considering getting a booth in the Artist Alley This year or next year perhaps, but I want to know if you actually like what you see. Keep in mind, I could also make little trinket boxes and dinner plates and stuff. Just as long as I can find a blank item to use. I could also do commissions, and/or have people bring in their own things for me to decorate like this. So what I want to know is, if I got a booth, would it be worth it? Would you consider buying such a thing? Would they sell? How much would you pay for certain items? Any kind of feedback and/or ideas would be most wonderful!!! =D

Those are awesome, but I don't think you should be selling something if you didn't do the artwork on them...maybe you could team up with an artist in the alley and use their work?
-
I think those are really cool, but have to agree with ScrumYummy as far as the artwork goes. If you draw some things up yourself or collaborate with someone that would be great. You can't sell things in AA with artwork that you didn't draw yourself, or artwork that is directly traced or referenced from an existing picture.
Otherwise they're cool and a unique idea! I have no idea about pricing~ n.n

im not one for kingdom hearts myself, but that axel cup is pretty BA
-
I agree with ScrumYummy about the artwork bit, too. But I love them and would definately consider buying one! (depending on the price xD) I think it would be worth it if you could figure out the artwork part.

True dat.
But I agree with everyone else as well. Teaming up with someone sounds like a pretty good plan to me. ;3
-
Cute idea, but please do not use anyone elses artwork on your 'craft'. Also, your images look like google-search cut outs, that are simply pasted onto plates and cups. A little dodgy in my opinion, and I don't know if the average con-goer would purchase something so breakable. Again, nice idea, but the art you're using sends up red flags to me.
-
can I have one XD
-
SO COOL! I WILL BUY IF YOU MAKE A NARUTO ONE!
-
I agree with many other people here.
Those art pieces aren't you so you shouldn't be selling
them for a profit because that money should go to
the artists, if they find out that you stole there artwork
without permission, you could get into loads of trouble.
but the idea is nice, just start drawing your own art C:
-
You can't sell anything with artwork on it without permission from the artist who drew it. Teaming up with another artist or drawing your own art are both good alternatives. As an artist, I know I would be very upset if I discovered that someone else was selling my artwork without my permission.
You have a nice, unique idea here... you might want to go with smaller things, though, since most people probably don't want to carry a plate around all day.
-
but at the same time.....i would totally get a cup with axel on it.......*in love with anything kingdom hearts*
-
wow looks great and hope to see some of this in AA
-
you know
if you find resource/stock images for graphic designers, you can use them, as long as you follow whatever rules are listed by the person who owns it.
similarly, i wouldn't mind you using some of my graphics work for it if you would like
-
Yeah, but there's no "stock pictures" of anime characters. :/
If the pictures aren't 100% yours (or you have 100%!! of the approval and agreement of the original artist) then don't consider selling it.
If you could do this with your own art in the form of commissions (or even commissioners' art) or something like that, then I might get one, but it has to be yours. Or complete approval and permission of the original artist.
-
i would totally want to buy some sweet anime dinnerware but like everyone was saying, you should hook up with someone in the AA who could draw the pictures or something. but those are seriously freakin awesome!!! ^___^
-
As far as price goes, it depends on how much you spend making them.
Just by looking at what you have, I would guess below 20$ would be a reasonable price.
-
It would be awesome if you did either a service for the artists by having the artists order the cups or plates of there work and then give out business cards to your website or contact for further work or ask each artist at the artist alley for their booth number and sell art that is there.
These are really cool!
I would love a cup with my OC on it. heheh!
