Title: Big lots anime
Post by: ebasilio on September 22, 2009, 09:57:27 pm
so recently I went to big lots to look for somethings for my dorm but I was astonished to find anime there for 3$! Without hesitation I bought some. So heres what I found. Negima,DBZ, School Rumble ova, xxxholic and others. Not much to choose but what do you expect for 3$.

My friend told me he picked up a bunch of anime there once.  I know I've seen a few misc titles (nothing that appealed to me).  I managed to pick up a few cool documentaries once though. ^_^;

WEll, now I have a reason to even go to Big Lots. I bet I'll never find my Kenichi season 1 part 2 there though. I'm gonna end up ordering it online.

I found a bunch of anime DVDs there around two or three years ago. I can't remember what all they had, but they had quite a few. I believe I picked up one of each DVD. :P

Biglots is a store that buys up other store chains discontinued stuff, that why you see such random stuff in there. We have one almost right across the street from my apartments(in Eugene).

There's no telling whether or not the anime would still be there anyway. If it's a long drive, than it's probably wise not to risk it.

Besides, you can still find some pretty good deals online. Try Amazon... I've got some insane deals there before.

Big Lots occasionally has anime, and sometimes other decent stuff (I've found Star Wars figures there once, a long time ago)... But you can't really count on it, seeing as they don't always have the same things.
Even so, I still hate going into that place. It's just not my type of store. ><

Best Buy is overprice in pretty much everything they sell. Despite their name, they do not have the "best buy". ><

Personally, I prefer Fry's Electronics. They're much more reasonable in their prices, and I think their selection is better. I like the workers there too... I don't know how many times I've had a conversation with someone in the anime or video game section about the latest anime/game, or an anime clothing item I'm wearing. :P

I mostly order online from amazon because its usually cheaper...but next time I'm in the area of a Big Lots I am gonna have to stop by. I do travel quite a bit anyway.

I dunno if this would hold true for Seattleites in general, but after spending an hour visiting the two in Renton and flipping through what they had, the only anime I saw was three discs of Tekkon Kinkreet. Unless you count Goosebumps, The Berenstein Bears, and various animated Bible stories as anime, that is.  :P

We've been hiding from each other as well.
The only cosplayers I knew pre-pat freaking out about Local people and alerting us that we all lived here, was my friend Irene.

Okay I'm a little out of the loop here. What is this Big Lots place and where is it?
it's a chain of stores that sells discount everything.
they basically buy everything that doesn't sell from other stores, and sell it cheaper, so you never know what you will find there.

they are all over the place, i wouldn't be surprised if you had at least one close to you.

Hmm, depends is there one in the SouthEast area of Portland out near Gresham?

There is one there, on Burnside WAY out east, pretty close to Division I think. Out near SE 250+ anyway. If you were driving on Burnside from downtown, it would be on your left in a shopping plaza. There's also a Michaels, a Blockbuster, and I think there's a Dairy Queen also in the same area. Not far from the Gresham Fred Meyer. Hope that helps.
