So I haven't seen one of these yet and decided to start one up! ^^
I saw a few cosplayers last year but it was always when I wasn't in my Blair outfit... D8 I hope I'll get more pics with more people this upcoming year!!

HEY...Kim isn't on your list if I end up..probably not..doing Kim again..well I would get a different wig..or do someone else..then I would end up cosplaying from Soul Eater....welll other then Shana none of my other cosplays are set I wouldn't mind doing a Tsubaki cosplay..welll I may look too young...but I wouldn't find doing it...

You don't have to have fake boobs... I mean... D8 I have enough to share and I do characters with no boobs... I just say Blair casted magic on them and gave them umph! She ahd to get the boobs from somewhere right...? >.> Maybe she stole them from your Tsubaki!

Besides, you could do a child Tsubaki...?

LOL go shorty's! @Kallika well I'm a 20 year old girl, that's 5ft, playing 15 year old boy, whose 5'3"-4"ish. Do what makes you happy!^^ If you do a good job no one will care about the small stuff(like if you look 3 years too young). act the character. If you run around like 10year old, no one will think your much like tsubaki even if you 18. Also just were a bit of make up that's mature. earth tones. =p

There is a tutorial somewhere about putting wigs into pony tails. Or just get a really short wig and buy a pony tail attachment.

also just remembered i need to repaint the Death Scythe i have for stein my cousin wasn't careful with it in her care and chipped A LOT of the paint off of it...

D8 Sorry, I never saw you...and I left my camera in Washington (Home) so I don't have any pictures anyways. All pics I have I got from other people.
It sucks, too! Every time I saw Soul Eater people I wasn't in my Blair outfit... For the photoshoot I didn't even know the time and I ran into them and said something about Blair and so they told me and I went and changed. >.>

well only camra i had on me was my cellphone and it didn't work to well sometimes

yeah i didn't know where the photo shoot was eather for both days or the time funny thing was i knew the time for the one but didn't know where i had a random death scythe (hot one too!) some up to me asking if i was going to it and i was all um i don't know i wanted to hug him so bad i was having a fangirl moment it was funny

We weren't in there very long. We left after Cellblock Tango from Chicago because one of my friends had to go home and her stuff was in my room. Then we hung out in my room until everyone had to leave... >.>

gonna try and make Eruka's hat this weekend, hopefully I'll have time to cut out the circles for her dress too.
then NEXT weekend, I'll get a pattern and black fabric so I can start her dress

I'm gonna try and work in ultra speed to have her done by Halloween. at least, mostly done.

I'm thinking my Marie Mjolnir cosplay might FINALLY make an appearance next year. I've been sort of working on it and planning for like about a year, but now that my friend is showing interest in a soul Eater cosplay I might FINALLY get the incentive to finish! =]

Agreed... She's one of my favorite characters, and we just so happen to be really similar in build and such so it just kind of makes sense for me to cosplay her... Besides there seems to be a serious lack of Marie cosplay love!!!

If all goes well I might make my first real prop and build a little "hammer hand."

that was when i was being furry/kitty stein it was funny! i would have my lab coat on and it would cover up the tail but i still had my ears on but not the screw sadly and i left the death scythe at my cosuins house or in her car lol. it was awesome

There was a Shinigami-sama! o 3o He was at the shoot I was at...He came when I had to leave because of the rain {Friend had stuff on that would wash away} but he was there...

XD I'm not taking science or math anymore. One of the physics teachers was talking to me the other day and questioning why I didn't have science in my schedule.

Oh! I also have to read Jane Eyre for English as well as certain chapters in the Bible for allusion studies... >.>
It was weird...I was reading the bible before practice today [/mime in a play] and a mother and teacher were talking to me and when they saw my bible started to talk to me about mimes in churches... >.> I didn't have the heart to tell them I only had it for English and not for pleasure... It's a very boring book to me. D8 [/only in Exodus] So hard to read...

I know, right?! Like they don't take up enough of time of our lives... D8

Anyway, I'm totally looking forward to having Maka actually 100% for next year. There's always been SOMETHING missing so far.

Sakura con 09 it was my lack of wig...

Kumo09: I was missing my jacket, boots were broken, and wig was not in it's pigtails.

However, this year I'm actually going to have the pigtails. I'm looking to commission someone for them right now. :P I'm happy~ lol

So because of a lack of a good wig (and not wanting to spend too much money right now) I won't be able to pull Marie together to the level I'd like in time for Akicon.... =[

I was talking to one of my cosplay partners today though (I just got her to start watching SE like a week ago) and she wants to dress as Death the Kid for Sakuracon, and my other friend has mentioned doing Soul then also, so I'll for sure have Marie done by then!

As of right now, procrastination is not my friend. It was a half-hour ago while I was randomly surfing the internet, and yesterday, while I was playing video games. But at the moment...I don't like it. In about another half hour, we will be friends again. That's when I am relieved I am done and start playing video games again. wait make that an hour...I forgot I have math homework xD I should write a story about procrastination xD sorry bout the long random, and totally useless ramble.

H1M1 starts with a headache so I know it's not that...and my neighbor's little girl has it. D8
But I'm sure it's nothing... One of my classmates was out all last week and another has been out all this week...
I'm just worried because this is Homecoming week. D8 Tomorrow we have Float decoation and our parade and then Saturday we have set up and the dance and tear down... I missed some set up today because I wasn't at school...

XD It's all good! Everyone loves a good ramble sometimes...

I found a petticoat that works pretty well to poof it out, but I still might need some wire.
curse Eruka and her gravity defying dress shape T_T

lol. I used some very ghetto methods since I'm low on money and just tried to use material I already had..
the hats base is chicken wire. I seriously sat in my room with a pile of chicken wire, bending and molding, until I finally got the right shape. then I covered up with duct tape to cover the holes, then hot glued on felt.....

the dress' dots are also felt that are just glued on.

told ya it was ghetto! lol

So I dragged Maka's coat out of my fabric drawer. I've taken apart the sleeves and the jacket itself for when I sew in the lining, but I need to go down to Joann's and buy it. XP Been so lazy lately. Haha

I need to find a better fabric for the vest, lining for the jacket, actually finishing the jacket, find another white shirt (because the hotel at Sakura con ate my old one) and then...*shudders* There's the boots to deal with...

It's sad, because I really like cosplaying her, but I feel like I'm back to square one with her and that's never any fun... I don't think she'll be back in the game for a while, and even then it might only be for photoshoots or something... I don't know...

Out of curiosity are there any Eruka cosplayers who can give an tips about constructing a hat? My friend is doing a really cute teen Angela cosplay, and we were planning on working on her lizard hat this weekend. Only problem is we are both totally terrified of it. XD

Um... I'm not too sure about hats, but I know the hat that came with my witch costume I bought for Halloween used a strong bendable chicken wire type thing to make sure it kept it's shape. I would prolly just do that.

We bought a bunch of wiring to use as a frame, we're just nervous about the actual body of the hat... I guess we'll just have to test a few things and see what works.

I wouldn't recommend my method, but I took chicken wire and made it into the shape of a cone  that was about the size that I wanted, and then "molded" or shaped it with my hands until I got the shape I wanted.
then I covered it with strips of duct tape, glued on a layer of felt, and then covered in fabric.

the tail was just a piece of wire with cardboard attached to it, and then more felt was added to make it round.

the eyes could be made with either clay or foam. either way I suggest using some kind of sealant, then paint, then a finish (like a gloss)

the tongue would be easy, just 2 strips of wire covered in fabric and then rolled into a spiral.

oh and for the brim of that, I've heard that craft foam is a good option (the stuff that people use for armor sometimes)


I had no idea how to make the hat sit on my head, so I just got another hat and stuffed it inside.

Thanks for the input! Sounds pretty similar to the approach we had planned out, so I feel a bit better hearing that we're not coming up with a ridiculous plan. XD

Edit: My friend and I decided to make today a "work on cosplay" day and we've made some really good progress! I finished my eyepatch, found my base skirt (which had been MIA) and started getting the gold design into the shape I need it so I can sew it onto the skirt. Hoping to RIT dye my shirt pieces sometime this upcoming week. My friend has also finished her eye pieces for Angela, and I must say they look amazing! =]

well, that's what I remember reading when going over the rules, it's why I can't enter my Daughter of Evil costumes, since there's only fan-art of the dresses and I ended up making my own design. I'm not a reliable source, but I believe that's what they mean by "official" the only official pictures of the vocaloids are the ones on the package D:

haha the Eruka Frog dress that I made for Halloween was the first thing I ever made....and it showed.....
So I made a new one and it looks MUCH better! Hopefully I'll have pics later today, I'm still working on my hat too...I need  it to finish drying so I can patch up the cracks

One was on the first day at Pioneer Square, and then there was a second one on Sunday in the parking garage because it was raining outside and we couldn't find anywhere else to go.

I'm finally getting stuff done, I finally ordered my wig (I broke down trying to do the attachable pony tail to a short wig), so I just ordered a 70 dollar pre done one :/ and I'm going to sew with my grandma next week. I know I'm late doing sutff but I should be able to get everything done in under a week :P.

Also wondering if I could hang out again with some of the people I did last year. (this is only if my friends don't know with me..well actually maybe anyway)

Good news..everyone..Tsubaki is basically done!

I shall get pictures when the dress is all the way done (we still need to sew on the star, get a scarf, and get a cloth belt though)

This year was just like last year...we made nothing out of normal fabric :P this year we used a fluffy baby onsey, some felt, and a sheet :P
(we also used the zipper from the onsey).

I'm slowly but surely working on Marie..... I had the shirt done but didn't quiet like way the bottom part looked so I'm redoing it.

I'm also not pleased with the color of the sleeves and bottom compared to the rest of the shirt (I swear this whole weird grey/black on black thing is killing me!) so I'm going to just re-dye the whole thing after I finish constructing it.

Skirt is about a third of the way done, and I'm in love with the gold fabric I got for the detailing. I'll start making more progress and posting pics soon, but the fact that I'm just working on this cosplay is a big step for me! lol. Luckily this is my only new costume this con so I don't have to worry too much about my procrastination problems. XD

There's a BIT of a problem..the pony tail is too heavy and it just kinda flops over..I'm scared I'm going to have to sew a base in and stab a chop stick through the pony tail..

Also I need to buy a comb that I can comb the pony tail with..

I wonder if you could glue some sort of stick to headband or something and then wear that under your wig
LOL I don't know, that's my solution but I'm not very good at fixing things..it always sounds great in my head but when I actually try everything falls apart

I could try that lol..problem is the whole net inside wig thing..is solid and not net like, like my last wig.

maybe poking a hole in the base to stick some wire through, spiraling the wire to make a base under the base and poking the end through the ponytail?

or, i remember in elementary school on Crazy day, some people had ponytails sticking straight in the air simply by sticking a chopstick in thier hair and having it rubber banded in the hair. Thier heads acted as a base...

Well, I have some money problems right now so I am postponing Death the Girl. I am trying to get a wig with ponytails that I can use for both Death the Kid and Death the Girl, but the good one I found is more expensive than I can afford. In other news, did you guys still want to have a photoshoot on Saturday? If so, I would appreciate it if you guys could decide on the time :)
No hurry, just figured I'd bring it up. The one on Sunday will be meeting up on the second floor of the lobby and hopefully moving to the parking garage like last year.

Hello~ I'll be cosplaying Maka for Saturday and Sunday of Kumoricon! I'm very excited to do it, and I have most of it done, just need the sweater and the wig, which I'm planning to go to Wigland in Portland on Tuesday... if I can find it. :P

I think saturday would be a good day... we could do like 2 or 3? or perhaps 4? Just thinking we want it when things have died down a bit.. and not too early in the morning.  I would like it after 11:30ish. As I wanna go see a Photoshoot at 11.

I do have a question though, I have my 'cool' Soul scythe done and made and was wondering since its so big, would it be considered blocking traffic? Here's a link to it: http://7bijou7.deviantart.com/#/d2vba1y If anything I can remove the top of it, but the pole part is still really tall.

mine was about the same size, maybe taller, and I had no problems with security.
elevators were and issue though.

Oh and the time and day was already decided for the photo shoots, I just need a location for the first day haha

For my death scythe with my stein cosplay if I remember right it's like a foot taller then me in my almost 3 inch shoes and I was able to get around just fine but had to take it apart for elevtors and the max train... that was funny but embarrassing falling down in it on the way back to my aunts house for lunch.

so hopefully that helped a little with your question

okay so i was wondering if people would be bad if I had a white shirt instead of a greenish on fors spirit and also if it was okay that the sleeves on the jacket were rolled up some.


*grumbles* i really really need to stop switching my what i wanna cosplay as because right now spirit is a maybe as far as cosplays go >.<

 And for Kolakatt, I think that would be fine, Some reason the thing to me that always gets me that the person is spirit is that they have a red wig, and the tie is like... crossy like... and they have the jacket, I don't think you have to be picky...Did I answear that okay?

I'm only attending the Saturday shoot so there have better be one! It says on the official shoot thread that it has a time but no place...we should just pick a place outside (because lighting is better that way) and have an alternate location inside if it's raining (hopefully with decent lighting).

My only thing about going outside for the shoot is not to get too far away from the convention space, for there may be creepy people or stuffez. I would be fine with Pioneer Square or someplace close by though ^^

Pioneer Square and the South Park Blocks are both very close by, I wouldn't worry too much about creepers OUTSIDE the con. There's power in numbers.

It's the ones attending the convention you need to worry about. But that's a whole new topic ~

I worked on my Death the Kid cosplay today, I'm practically done except for the weapons. Wig done, blazer done except for some velcro I wanna attach...and I'm not very proud of the blazer, something's off...but I can't go back now.

I haven't even started the Death Cannons yet...and at this point, I may have to subsitute for a skateboard instead...but we'll see what I can find.

Everything's perfect..except for this freaking wig..it cost 70 dollars and it doesn't fit my head at all...and the hair is being weird and bunching up..I don't know if I'll be able to figure it out.

So I've come up with a horrible solution for my Tsubaki cosplay that will still keep me with a wig..I'll have to cut it down from the epic pony tail it has, so I'll be Tsubaki, just without a pony tail.

If my hair was longer I would just temp dye it black and put it in a pony tail, but recently I cut it really short SO I could fit it in this wig I got >,<

I will also have a friend doing a OC of mine, a little girl with gray hair and stitches under her eyes.
