I'm in college
Don't have a job (Or can't really get one -____- stupid econ)
And both my parents lost their jobs because of the econ too
It's hard enough saving up for Kumoricon, I spend all year doing it, K-con is the only time I buy new manga too cause it's all alot cheaper.

I believe if that storm had not come about we would have had more vendors and maybe a bigger turnout.

Whoever was there must have remembered when it started snowing HARD the last night of the con! Wasn't that fun realizing we may never get out of that hotel!? Man that was good times at 2 AM

I also talked to Spike Spencer A LOT, and he's pretty much one of the coolest guys on earth.

I don't know for sure that I'll be able to attend for the whole con this year, but I'm definitely going for at least one day.

I need at least 25 more staff in Programming alone to make MEW Con run smoothly. You can cap staff, and I'll go ahead and cancel Main Events, all of the Panels, Arts and Crafts, Tabletop and CCG, tournament gaming, and the exhibitors halls. Other than that, we're sufficiently staffed.

I need at least 25 more staff in Programming alone to make MEW Con run smoothly. You can cap staff, and I'll go ahead and cancel Main Events, all of the Panels, Arts and Crafts, Tabletop and CCG, tournament gaming, and the exhibitors halls. Other than that, we're sufficiently staffed.
I have no clue why people are keeping me out of the loop on things like this.

Personally, I felt like MEWcon needed to be advertised more, but I see that being done with even the bookmarks at Kumoricon. I was pleasantly surprised to see the bookmarks in the bag.

Even if its a small con, we need people to go! If people don't, then it'll just be small.

If you're bored, just come talk to me :) At the very least bring your DS and we can Pictochat from across the room. I really want to Pictochat with people at cons. I think it'd be fun.

Those were the golden days really. I know I "smoked" my Spiderman candy cigarettes that I procured from the Candy Crane machine at the local DQ, nobody ever asked for id back then.... a simpler time really.

Yes I must admit I had alot more interaction with people last year at MEW as there was a bit more downtime and more people you can just talk face to face with. Plus lets face it- the colder weather keeps people inside and you can just in the lobby and talk.

Plus if you debut a shoddily made cosplay (*whistles*) to see how it goes over there is no better place to do it then at a small con.

But you’re innocent until proven guilty, so I understand why they wouldn't want it talked about in the forums right now. That first article you posted was all the prosecuting side of the story, none of her defense side was mentioned. they could have not read the second link after reading the first. And... in your post you have "I know a person is innocent until proven guilty... but " that part there can be taken as inciting rumor by some people.

As I said in my PM to you on the M.E.W.con forums, you were you were asked not to discuss this topic further until M.E.W.con has decided what we are going to do regarding this situation. As I am sure you are aware, she is still planned as a guest for the con however, we are discussing this situation internally. The media tends to takes stories and run with them without doing any research into facts. This leads to a great deal of problems for every one. If you read through her blog she says "When convention chairs panic they could pull Yaoi Press from their shows". We are not going to be one of the conventions that panics and pulls a guest before all of the information has been presented.

So, just to clarify, you have not been banned from the M.E.W.con forums or any action taken against you. That post has simply been removed, as will all others until we have decided what we are going to do.

I wasn't able to grab a case of pool noodle before summer ended to hoard for the panel. So instead I'll have a panel where they can come and take turns using the foam weapons available. Maybe even line two groups of fighters up and have a team battle.

If you go to the mewcon.com website and click "Guests", they're all listed there with the exception of my band (that page should be up within a couple days).

That seems highly improbable. We're expecting to be at 60 or 70% capacity at best.

I had a lot of fun, but in all honesty, my highlight of the convention was playing dominion with tanis in the con suite.

I do want to go to this again, but only if I can afford a room without roommates (unless by some unlikely fate of god I have a boyfriend by then. ^^; ) Also I want to have at least one friend there too I could hang out with some of the time. Nice people at con is fun, but not knowing anyone on a friend lvl is not.

But In terms of the con itself, only issue that bugged me was not being able to play late night d&d because the open alcohol bottle and sleeping people in the room bothered me too much. But hanging out with nice con staff lady in lobby was better then what I heard of the game anyways. ^^

Fun was, the Cake panel, although I still feel bad for lack of cleaning and lack of cosplay. My "twin" Seraph, you remind me so much of my highschool friend david it's cool. Fun was Apples to Apples (the con edition) and the creator of that con edition because he was awesome. Staff Lady in lobby (I am sorry I forgot your name!! ;-; you are awesome though.) Guy selling food by the dance after the opening ceremonies, that guy was awesome. Mr_Mustash, just because… he remembered me from his 18th bday party and run around in pink underwear and look like he was having so much fun it was cool. You owe me a game of Fluxx though! Um… Name forgetting again, Richard? The game who bought the zombie flux that we all played for a long time and it was fun. To you if you see this, I am sorry I never showed to the fashion show, I ended up having to head home before I could go and still feel bad about missing it. Everyone that talked to me. The rock, paper, succors bucket game. the, I think it was 2 people who could tell I was Ranka Lee! The 3 tall beautiful girls, especially the one with so much hyper cuteness who kept making Jack Sparrow fallow the glowing orb ball thing. Everyone who talked to me… yes I know I said this twice, I love you guys.

Also, I have someone's jeans and bra from my hotel room, I can bring them to the next kcon meeting. (this is why you do not pack your bag in low light in a rush.)

Mewcon was so exciting! ^^ I'm happy that I met so many awesome people and reconnected with so many that I hadn't seen in forever! -flails about- It was probably my best convention out of the ones I've been to because it was so small so everyone had a chance to be social instead of being moody and not talking to new people. :3
