alright so I am making this thread but since I have no clue when we will be doing this I will ask for people sugestions
It will be october 24th at 12 in the afternoon at the Lloyde center we will be at the lloyde until around 2:45 I think it is then we will be heading down to the pioneer square to meetup with other hetalia cosplayers because it is national hetalia day now ^__^

A good place to start with the planning would probably be to get a good idea of when in the next few months people will be most inclined to get together. Do you guys wanna have a meetup around Halloween, or closer to the winter holidays, or maybe around Valentine's?

Okay, so it looks like more people would be able to make it to a Valentine's day meetup, but that a Halloweeen meetup would be well-attended as well.
It's pretty obvious what kind of things we would do for V-day, and it's a little far away so I don't think we need to hammer out the details for that just yet.
However, Oct. 24 is in only a month and a half. So the question is: What kind of activity would we like to do? I'm pretty much fresh out of ideas in this area, so if you have an idea, please tell us! =3

I think a potluck would be a good idea. I didn't go to the other one, so I don't know what kind of selection was there last time, or that we could expect. We also have to pick out a where, unless it was already stated and I'm blind XD. I don't know what kind of games or activity's to suggest, because I've never really gone to one of these.

Having a potluck limits your locations. You won't be able to have it in a mall (you know we were kidding when we said we'd have it in Pioneer Place, right? Ahahahaha >>) 'cause there's a seriously good chance you'll get kicked out if it's even three quarters as many people as we had for the prereg one. And late October means craaap weather, especially since this year is supposed to be colder in general. So you'd need some magic combination of accessible space, not freezing and not going to get kicked out. I dunno where you would go then. D:

Well, the lloyd center is bigger, and only a good distance away from the square if we have it their we won't get kicked out. (has had a massive Valentines day party in cosplay their last year.) So that would be a good idea if any to have one. xD
they also have Ice skating, so we could have it like Hetalia on ice. xD

I agree. I thought this was for interaction between cosplayers in the first place...xD But what if the weather is good? There's a park by Lloyd center that we could hang out at. We could go there and play International tag! It would be like Risk with people. Or something. XD

There's an uber cheap arcade on Hawthorne in NE. I think it's called Avalon something.
Although I'd personally prefer an event where we're all face-to-face.

@Valeria: Yeah, that's why hanging out at Lloyd and ice-skating would be fun~ More interaction. And if we didn't want to ice-skate, Savannahs suggestion of having international games and fun-times in the park if the weather's okay might be a good idea. It would be cheaper, too.
@Savannah: Our set time to meet up is at noon. I would be taking the MAX and you could ride with me, but I'm sure you'd have to convince your mother first. =3

So unfortunately the space inside the mall is not enough to hold a wedding, and there's a good chance that it'll be raining. The only way to have it will be if we have the good fortune of no rain on that day. I can't really think of any way to hold the wedding in those conditions.
The parking lot would not be that great of a place to have it. There'll be cars driving in and out, so it could be dangerous. ' w ';

I think if you guys want this to happen you'll need to ready to set it up in two-three days and assume not everyone will make it. That's the only way to make sure you can get a good place outside with no rain.

@Soundy & Cloudy: With military uniforms, I think that buying and altering is the best way to go. I bought mine, and I think it looks pretty good. The only problem is that it's wool, so it can get hot. But since the cooler months are coming up, I'm not worrying about it too much. =3

Or a few thousand~. I think the First Nations are still hanging out with their people on the reservations, resenting the crap out of America and maybe Canada. Can't say Canada for sure, since I don't know anything about how they treated their native populations.

Okay, so I just found out another very interesting thing. Apparently, on the main Hetalia comm on Livejournal it has been decided that Oct. 24 this year is World Hetalia Day. I didn't even know, but I think we have some pretty epic accidental planning skills.

I think it'd be more fun to have the combo meetup in Pioneer Square where we could wreak havoc without risk of getting kicked out.
The leaders of each group should trade cell numbers so they can call each other and last-minute organize if something doesn't work out.
Fun fact: Portland Zombie Walk is also on the 24th this year, so we might meet us some zombies.

*Warning* Lloyd Center does not allow cosplayers.... they have been have a lot of trouble (stabbings and shottings) and if you meet up in a big group you will need a permit/ permission... Also if you come in even a small group no mask, weapons, a ton of make-up. It is a lot of hassle! I suggest Clackmas they are super nice about things just call a head and warn them... Thank you!

As far as I know, we don't have permission yet. With other cosplay groups, I can certainly see how this would be a problem, but I think we'll be okay. Hetalia is mostly military uniforms and casual wear, and none of the hair is too crazy, so as long as no one brings any large/crazy props, I don't think we'll cause too much of a commotion.
Just to be safe, I suggest we keep the craziness and running around to a minimum. (Which includes me. Always feel free to tell me to calm down if I get a little out of hand. :x )
