Somehow, I think I inspired this board =^.^= *Tee hee*
Anyways, just letting it be known, I'm willing to help with almost anything needed. From sending out ideas for what little badges should look like to what color the plastic cups should be.... ^.^ *giggle* I'm just here to be assigned a job... (just not secretary... *looks at the other posts* and I can't control huge huge amounts of crowd... at least not an active crowd... well... it depends what I'm controling them about...)
Yep =^.^= So this is just my offer in case you need me, I'll be here.

Well the lady patrolling the line when I went at Sakura Con could have been called rude, but I thought she was kind of cool... anyways..> I don't think I would make a great security person... >.>; (*imagines*... me: uh... sir, no fighting... sir... sir. Eeek! *runs off... even though the guy just turned around* ) :P I'm not too forceful in a way... if it doesn't have to do with being forceful though I'll help ^.^

Was it a Chii with no ears? If so, yeah, I still say DON'T WALK IN THE STREET! ^.^

gods... security on the main floor of the convention center at sakuracon is a bear.
For the time I was helping out, it's like telling a cow not to be dumb. People clear the way, then they start walking in the middle again. I know, I know, not everyone is around to hear people yelling "get out of the isle", but it's a never ending process... and people come away thinking "what an ass".. when you really do have a good reason to get them out of the way.
More fun than that was moving the TVs from the console room on Sunday... nearly running over several people while getting them into the elevator...
On a good note, that shouldn't be an issue with Kumoricon... we have a freight elevator that staff will be using to move equipment...

Dude, yah xD That was you? You were awesome, I love your voice! ...not to sound creepy or anything *shifty eyes* hee hee.... You were the first highlight of the Sakura Con for me! lol
-
lol, she does that to people... she might have been one of the first people to glomp me last year (2003).

This is the way I look at the whole relationship between the hotel and con security. It has a much softer edge to it then all the long lists of don'ts one sees in a con book and I think it gets the point across.
The Hotel and hotel staff are like your parents and they have given you permission to have this amazing party as long as you follow a few simple rules! (And even if you are an adult, the 'our house, our rules' rule applies). You want to impress them because it's a really cool party and you want them to keep letting you have parties like this again and again.
Con Security is kind of like your favorite big brother or sister that your parent has put in charge. Sometimes you think they are out to spoil your fun, but the aren't. They want to keep having the parties year after year too and they don't want you to get 'in trouble.'

Glad to know I was a highlight..... and my voice was beginning to go by then, so that wasn't actually my real voice. ^.^; (And no, my voice hasn't recovered yet for anyone asking. It'll probably take at least another two months. ^.^; )

I never actually touched you last year or this. ^.^; Though I did help in the stalking last year. ^.^
And yes, we should post these big, giant signs in hallways asking people not to loiter IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREAKIN' HALLWAY!!!! >.<
-
really.... hmmm... stalker? which one?
-
The White Shirt Ninja, Red Riding Hood, and chick in plaid last year, and I didn't stalk you this year. ^.^
-
yeah yeah, I misread your last post. thought it said "I helped the stalker last year".
Yeah, I do remember you "stalking" me... but I could have sworn there was a glomp.. but then, there were so many, I guess I could be mistakened.
-
Ive given out net Glomps but have yet to see a real life one. This shall be interesting...
-
general ediquette anymore is to not glomp before asking. Being one that had many in 2003 at SakuraCon, and someone who had few this year, I think the new system is refreshing... I was constantly looking over my shoulder last year, and this year I felt much safer.
But, I'm sure we can arrange a glomp or two for the shananagans.
