Title: 2 weeks before the con! O_O you guys ready?

Armor is now the bane of my existence....

I really hope that wonderflex arrives soon x_x *just ordered it*

beyond that im rushing to the finish line with my cosplay and Im not so sure I can finish in time

how are the rest of you doing?

Not ready yet! I have some details on soul, details on Rumia, an optional detail on Mikuo, A collar and tie for Satoko, and a bunch of little details that add up to a bunch of stuff on Red XIII.

I've got a lot to do~ I'm just lazy. Need to find my old Garnet pattern to remake the top, waiting for the feathers to arrive, cut out and finish Nagisa, remake the Tiger Racket... there's a whole big list in the cosplay thread of what I still need to do. ^^;;

Just curious what you are using the Wonderflex for.  It is great stuff, really thin, but it has a cross hatch patterning that is really annoying if you are using it for exterior pieces.  Another product that is nice for armor is Sintra, an expanded PVC foam board.  You can usually find it at sign shops, and they let us have scraps to play with.  Sintra is also a lot easier to find, comes in lots of colors, cheaper, and you can paint it!  Something to keep in mind if the Wonderflex is late, or you don't like working with it.

Sintra is easier to cut if you heat it first.  It may not be quite as flexible as Wonderflex, if you are doing 90 degree bends and stuff, you may prefer the Wonderflex, but if you are trying to make shin gaurds or shoulder pads, or something like that.  check out the Sintra.

And apparently I'm throwing together an Allen for a while, since my friend wants one to go with her Lavi, and she made two shirts. xD

Im using it for the armor of my Black Rose which is pretty much some arm guards, a bra/breast plate and some plates that cover her thighs.  : o Ive made a foam base to mold it to, and I was told it was paint able and have researched a few methods of smoothing it out.

Try sign shops in your area.  It is often used to make large signs, because you can attach large photos to it, and it is easy to bend when heated.  It also comes with an adhesive backing for some styles.  I wouldn't recommend using that type if you are heating it though.   ;D  They will most likely give you scraps to play with if you ask.  My wife got some from Multi-Craft Plastics (http://www.multicraftplastics.com/) here in Eugene.  They have a Portland store as well.  You may give them a look see.

Well I tried it out and it looked alright though I am not sure if I am going to do it or not. And it is very hard to get off, I still have the remains on.

What I did was tried doing my makeup with a highlighter. It showed up just fine in the black light and when I turned it off you couldn't see it at all but when I turn it back on it is all smeared from when I washed my face XD

Someone else who is trying to change their hair color.  I am going as Hohenheim from FMA this year.  Problem is my beard is brown.  I am going through stages of bleaching it blonde.  It is getting closer...  I also am having my mom help me style my wig later this week.  Getting my wig styled and my beard bleached.  GAH!!  What I go through for cosplay.  I am going to be awesome though.  I finally found that long brown dress coat he wears!  I am still trying to make up my mind about wearing a green necktie or navy blue bowtie.  I may alternate on different days.  Also the Hohenheim from FMA Brotherhood appears to be much darker and, well, evil.  I can play evil... HA HA HA    Edward.  Why did you burn down my house?  (glare)   ;D

I went to joanns today, and got fabric for satoko's tie, felt for some new leeks for Mikuo, and cord to tie on Red XIII's anket. also while I was out I found one of those big crayon bank things at the dollar store. I thought it would be cool if I ever cosplayed as a really small person...like a laptop persocom or something, so I got it. xD

I've finished Kou, Jay, and Fenimore for other people... Shirley's about 70% done, and Gas Station Attendant is missing a hat (and a gas pump if I have time...) but I'm mainly concerned about getting prints and stuff done in time.

I'm just about! All I need to do is get my hair cut and buy ace bandage. ^^  My friend will be bringing my completed Espeon ears and tail when she comes down. The only "maybe" thing is to hem my Haruhi pants. xD

I am still behind i have a lot to do, if i have the time and the money i am gonnna remake my Stein shirt, along with my Ashitaka Costume, (which now looks possible with my bow done and my sword in the works.)  If I also have time I am not gonna cosplay stein and instead attempt CT Smith.... and if for some odd reason I get alot of money my way, I might even attempt a cosplay that is not really anime, more of a game... Something Called Monkey Island :D

I have to style it myself, and I know that a ponytail doesn't look hard to make, but it is. Harder than you think.

'kay, so... I started (more picked up) another cosplay I wanted to do a while back- Kari from Digimon (season one). I already had the shirt and pants, so this morning I hemmed the pants, made her scarf, and added the "buttons" (white chunks of fabric B: ). I plan to head down to the party store and Dollar Tree to see if either have a whistle. Once I get my hair cut I'll have her costume done. : D  (Without shoes, this time.) There probably won't be a way to fit wearing her at the con, though. D:

@asy: I will be heading down there on that friday as well with my friends, depending on what time they swing by to pick me up, but it's going to be during the day, so that should be fun to see the people arriving somewhat early, and who knows I might try cosplaying that day if I'm not helping with anything.

@sound: ya, that will be cool, because your doing something a lot of people normally wont do, and I admire those people the most... Because I really don't like to see a lot of the same cosplay, I want to see variety so as to have a much more diverse con instead of 50 naruto's, 50 ichigos, and a bunch of the same. That's why I am going as one that if I'm not lucky, will probably one, maybe 2 more of the same character at Kumoricon, which I'm fine with.

I hate being people that a bunch of people cosplay, it makes me feel irrelevant, and even if your cosplay is amazing, there are too many people cosplaying the same person to actually pay attention.
Thus, one of the reasons I dropped Sora.
And I also seemed to choose the one character from OHSHC that no one wants to cosplay. Go figure.

that's good, I despise being grouped with a bunch of others because I am wearing the same thing as everyone else, which is why I refuse to cosplay as mainly any naruto character or bleach character, because I can gurantee that I will find at least 2 or more of the same character wandering around con. So at even tho you chose the one character no one else want's to cosplay is, that means you are more original... As for me, I am going to skip taking pics of anyone who's wearing an outfit that many other people are wearing, because it's no fun, I am looking for people that are original and look decent.

Lol actually I've done it a lot. I just can't do really large stuff. So I bring little thing that won't take tons of space or work.

As for being ready.. I need to finish my moogle plushie(My very bad moogle plushie-cringe-), make a chocobo or something of the likes, and help my friend Katy finish my lulu costumes, and then I'll be ready for con! <3 Other than ironing Koyori and packing, of course.

I'm getting a bit more ready. I'm currently about 2/3 done with my hair color changes.

It's definitely one heck of a process turning dark, dark brown hair into white hair. >.<

what sucks is I came up with a second outfit, but I can't do it, because I can't get a wig for him... So I can't cosplay as him  :'( But I should be able to do his cosplay next year, except by then, to many people are going to cosplay as him, which will take away from feeling unique.

Odds are there wont be to many Leon, (if your still thinking mifune from soul eater) I was technechly one of the first stein's at k-con since the other one was in the suit.... and they're bolt didn't really turn.... I even had the sycthe ^^'. I too would love to cosplay someone unique but its really hard, thats try to cosplay someone not many people cosplay, like Isshin,

ya, that's who I'm trying, but if I want to, I need to find a way to get to that wig shop people are talking about, because his hair isn't even that hard, it's just trying to get the wig is the only problem, and I'm sure people won't care if I use a different type of katana.

BUT! I'm totally psyched to hit the con all dressed up. they WILL be finished :P

- saturday: girl genius cosplay group
- sunday: Mario/FF9 group
- Monday: original characters.

crap. I have a friend who needs help to make her costumes because she can't sew and the only days either of us are both free is three days this week. so she only has three to work like a crazy mofo. WITH my help. X_X

I need to finish as much of my cosplays as I can so I can help her as much as I can.
