Title: Children activities at k-con?
Post by: seshetaxhikaru on August 18, 2009, 03:18:25 pm
I've been told that people bring their kids to k-con but I was wondering if there was anything set up specifically for them? Or would you just be dragging them around?  My dd is 4 and would like to go too for a day, but I dont want to drive to k-con with her only to have her bored in an hour and have to drive her home. Know what I mean.  So I thought I would pose the questions here before telling her my answer.
Also, if you have kids (or an oppinion on it), which day would be better to bring her? I was thinking the last day cause its shorter.  But I'm open to ideas.  Thanks in advance.

There is the Chibi Room, which is a room that has crafts and activities geared towards our 12 and under attendees.  There are a variety of crafts scheduled (making a miniature Japanese garden, fish kits, origami), manga drawing and coloring, or even learning a some Japanese.  There's different activities scheduled for each day... Jess, the coordinator, has some fun things planned.

There is also the plushie-making or fandom bears making that is being offered in the Creation Station, or cat ears in the dealer's hall.

As for which day to come.. Monday is the shorter day, and may not be as overwhelming.  The schedule should hopefully be posted by this weekend (if I can poke Publicity), and you can see what all is offered.
