Dose anybody know how to play go?

I have been learning how to play it.  I have the basic idea down but I have no good strategy.  

If you are interested, I organize monthly events in Salem where playing Go is one of the featured activities.

Let me know if you are interested and I can give you more info.

Salem is the capitol of Oregon.  It is about 50 minutes south of Portland and an hour north of Eugene.

Whereabouts do you live, Marth? Perhaps we might we know of a nearby Go group.

As for Go strategy... well, from what I've learned, 90% of learning Go is strategy. :) The rules are very simple. But that just means there's very little luck involved. Funny how the simplest games are sometimes the hardest of all.......

yes, there seems to be noone in Gresham who plays go....but that's because I haven't looked hard enough....heh heh.  (I just challenge my sis or one of my friends)

just wondering, did all this Go start with that one manga "Hikaru No Go"???  that is actually a good manga ^.~ i have friend who has learned the game because of it ^^

Well thats great you should learn to.

But its a complex game.

I know how to play but don't (so I will quite assuredly stink at it lol).

I prefer chess. If anyone plays and intends on attending one of the next lanime's let me know. Got my first game in ages at the last one with some kid who did pretty decent. Had me scared O_o

Or if anyone plays chinese chess and wants to teach....I have a board/pieces somewhere I just never actually tried it. Sounded interesting as a I recall though.

out of curiosity, how long would it take to learn chinese chess O.O seems a little hard, at least i can play regular chess ^_^; so ya go to tournaments or something?

God no, I don't go to tournaments. I used to go to regular chess tournaments when I was little, but that back in like 3rd-6th grade.

I don't know how to play chinese chess. Doesn't seem incredibly harder, just different rules/pieces. I got the board as a gift, been meaning to try it out lol.

I went to state. and you know what we were wasted. Like pick up thrown into the wind like we were nothing. Well It don't matter to me because I won 2 1/2 points Well the other got 2 points. So I won the most.  :D
